The Coulter House provides a getaway, beachfront opportunity for you and your family. Nestled on 100 ft of waterfront along the east side of beautiful Quartermaster Harbor, the home has magnificent sunsets and views of the Olympic Mountains from the large deck, master bedroom and living areas.
The charming, vintage island home has the original knotty pine interior and a roaring fireplace to create an atmosphere of warmth and relaxation. You can do some beachcombing in Quartermaster Harbor or visit some other close by beaches at the Point Robinson light house or Ellisport. Two canoes are available for paddling around the Harbor
The small town of Vashon has several very good restaurants, art galleries and one of the best Thriftway grocery stores in Washington State. You will find quality fresh seafood, the best meats and an incredible wine selection available at your finger tips.
This home is completely furnished and ready to go for a great relaxing vacation. The deck has a wonderful view of the water and of the sunset.

We stayed 10 days and it was hardly enough. My whole family came together on Vashon in June, coming from Seattle, Sun Valley and California. We loved spending our time together at the Coulter house. There was room for everyone: the layout of the house allows gatherings in the living room, or the separate family room or out on the deck. The sleeping arrangements were great with really comfy beds and everyone found their spot. The kids played games on the grass next to the water every night; and they were in the canoe constantly. There are actually two large decks. One right on the water with a firepit (which we used every night) and the second one off the living room and looking over the harbor. I can't say enough good things about this vacation. My grand daughter, Callie, says it was her favorite vacation ever. We'll be back. The Bourgettes.

This was an amazing home for our family to get together for our son's wedding. Spacious living quarters, for the family, beautiful views, plenty of grills for the outdoor cooking, and very clean accomodations. So the luxury of being in a "HOME" away from home was the closeness we were seeking and received. The island is beautiful, the people very friendly and the neighbors were wonderful in assisting our questions. We never encountered any problems, which was a blessing, for the beautiful home is well worth visiting and staying for any extended length of time. If our travels take us back to Seattle, this is exactly where I want to be. Beautiful memories from a beautiful place. We highly recommend this home.

We loved our summer stay at this house with our extended family, with 10 people including two sets of parents, four young children, and two grandparents. And we'd definitely recommend it for other renters. The house was spacious, clean and very well-equipped. The bedrooms were comfortable and quiet. And the location is ideal for Vashon Island, right above the beach and with a decent-sized lawn for the kids to play on during high tide.

My "extended" family and I came from across the U.S. to enjoy the Vashon Island wedding experience of my eldest brother. This wonderful and well-equipped house served as a central gathering place for not only my family staying at the house, but for friends and family from both sides attending the wedding. The accomodations were spacious. The house came with everything we could need. The Friday night barbeque we had on the landing by the beach was beautiful. The day following the wedding allowed us to host an 80th birthday party with fun in the sun, relaxation, and plenty of space to unwind. Vashon Island is fabulous and this is a must stay in vacation spot. We appreciate the home-feel of the place which allowed us to celebrate family style away from home! The owners and I corresponded by phone and e-mail over the course of several months. They also checked-in to make sure everything was ok both on our first day and our last. It was an easy drive into the town or to the ferry. The house was clean, as pictured, and directions for clean up at the end of the week were clear! I would definitely recommend this house to anyone wishing to relax and truly enjoy Vashon!

Our family from out of town stayed here during the week around our wedding. The place served as "headquarters" for a lot of the periphial activities. IT was perfect. Everything we needed was there, and it was convenient for all the other events. Everyone from my 7 year old niece to my 80+ year old parents were "in love" with the house. Thanks again

The Coulter House was an excellent choice for our family gathering! We had such an enjoyable experience---we are hoping to return again next summer. The pictures give a genuine homey feeling of every aspect of this beautiful, clean, well-maintained home. The yard is extremely well kept and spacious for children to romp and play. The beach is a great attraction for young and old to explore. A furnished deck at the beach as well as a deck off the home give great views of Quartermaster Harbor and the beach. I've never slept so well with the cool fresh scent of salt water and fir trees wafting through the windows. The Coulter House is a place I hope to return to again and again!

We rented this home so that 8 family members from 3 states could stay together and have a place to invite local relatives to join us for a gathering on Saturday. It was a great home! Everyone enjoyed being outside on the two decks, and we barbequed a couple of times during the weekend. It was also nice for just relaxing and watching the sunset. We roasted marshmellows and enjoyed the canoe & kayak. The home was clean and well stocked. The local town was fun to visit, and Vashon Island is easy to get to by ferry. You do have to be careful with toddlers as there are a lot of steps, etc.

We were looking for a comfortable home for 3 adults and 6 young kids. The Coulter House more than accomodated our gang. The house was clean and had every ammenity that we needed (and what was stated in the listing). The location on Vashon was a dream - on Quartermaster where the kids spent hours looking for crabs and treasure when the tide was out. Larry, the owner, was extremely helpful and welcoming. We would definitely rent again.

The island is an experience in itself. We experienced Seattle's amazing Pike Street Market and came back to a relaxing home on Vashon Island. A reunion of sorts for our family, now grown. The house has anything one might need for a get away or a longer vacation. We very much recommend this lovely rental. Larry was very helpful with providing information, photos and driving directions to this home. He called to help us arrange the weekend booking. He let us know all that the house provided. We would like to plan another visit with perhaps a longer stay, Thoroughly enjoyable!
