The apartment, the neighborhood and the convenience to the metro were fabulous and were depicted on the web site very accurately. Three of us fit in the apartment very easily even though it is small. The beds were unbelievably comfortable and easy to make up. The street is quiet and felt very safe. We loved visiting the local boulangerie (bakery) every morning for our croissants. The local grocery store is just around the corner. Rue Cler was wonderful with all the cafes and shops. Nice to come home to after a full day of walking and site seeing. Quentin made sure he was available to answer questions while we were there and was also helpful in answering our questions prior to coming to Paris. I would return and would recommend this apartment to my friends and family.

20th Wedding Anniversary

Guest: JMar (Laguna Hills, CA, USA)
Date of Stay: 01/15/12 Review Submitted: 02/04/12

My husband and I spent a short but lovely 5 days here in January as part of a trip to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. This was our first visit to Paris and we are so happy we stayed here! The apartment is much more spacious than any comparably priced hotel room, and offers the convenience of a small kitchen. While we didn't cook any meals in, it was nice to have a place to come back to to enjoy our wine, cheeses and baguettes. Quentin made the entire experience extremely easy and was responsive and helpful with arrangements prior to and upon our arrival. Loved that the whole building was non-smoking. Loved the location of this apartment - tucked into a quiet residential lane but only steps from the action and in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower. We love visiting places during the off-season to avoid crowds and high prices. We accomplished both on this trip. This place is definitely worth returning to and recommending to friends and family!

5 Day stay over Christmas

Guest: Young couple with son (US)
Date of Stay: 12/22/11 Review Submitted: 12/29/11

This apartment was great. My wife and 2-year-old son and I stayed there for 5 days over Christmas. The only issue we had was that the floor was pretty squeeky. Other than that, the apartment furnishings are great, the water is hot, the internet is quite fast, and the location is wonderful. The listing description is accurate, and the owner, Quentin, was very kind.

A nice place

Guest: Leo (Melbourne, Australia)

This apartment in Paris' seventh arrondissement was a pleasant surprise. Petit but well furnished, it is located in one of the most beautiful sections of the city. The owner was most helpful. I recommend it to anyone capable of climbing three storeys, as there is no lift; but the positive features more than compensate for that.

This apartment was in an ideal location. It is very close to Eiffel tower and just around the corner from the subway station to take you anywhere you want to go. We really enjoyed all of the great cafes and bistros located within the couple of blocks surrounding the apartment. We slept 3 people here comfortably. I would recomend this apartment to anyone visiting Paris.

Residence Valadon

Guest: Alan S. (-)
Date of Stay: 10/07/11 Review Submitted: 10/22/11

If you are skeptical about all of the positive reviews, don't be. You will find that a stay at Residence Valadon meets or exceeds your expectations. The reason that Residence Valadon works so well is because of the proprietor, Quentin Despennart. He is exceptional. On the day we checked in, he told us that all of his apartments were booked and he was rushing around Paris on his motor scooter getting everyone checked in. When we checked out, he came, sincerely asked us if there was anything that could be improved, and took care of getting us a taxi to the airport. With respect to the other review, the neighborhood is great, the food you can get on Rue Cler is exceptional (as with most Paris restaurants), everything is convenient, you can get to anywhere in Paris from here very easily. It was one of the high points of our trip to France.

Excellent Location and cozy apartment!!

Guest: Misty (Kalamazoo, MI. USA)
Date of Stay: 09/15/11 Review Submitted: 09/26/11

The Valadon apartment was located within walking distance to the Eiffel Tower, only about a 5 to 10 minute walk. The underground was very close and it was very easy to use. On the next street over there is the Rue Cler, a great street for market shopping. One of the best bakeries was located on the corner as well as several small grocery stores, it was easy to cook great meals in the evening! The apartment was small and cozy. Looks just like the pictures. There is a phone to call to America for free and computer use if needed. It is worth staying just for the bed because it was like sleeping on a cloud! I would highly recommend this apartment and would be staying here in the future!

Our family of three (including an 8 year old) stayed at Residence Valadon for 6 nights in June 2011. The apartment was just how it looked on the website, clean and stylish. The beds were very comfortable. Space to store our carry-ons was good. Having a computer with free internet access was beneficial: we were able to check train schedules, research tourist sites, check local weather and email. The location is the best! One minute from Rue Cler; 7 minutes from Metro: Ecole Militaire, 10 minutes from Eiffel Tower. All of the businesses on Rue Cler are exceptional and meet your every need. We would use VRBO again, and would recommend Quentin's properties to our friends with no hesitation. We enjoyed our stay immensely!

This gem is located a few steps from the Rue Cler open market and a quick walk from the Paris Metro. The location was phenomenal and the apartment was well maintained and furnished. Quentin was extremely helpful every step of the way and despite this being our first overseas rental, I felt very comfortable dealing with him and his brother. I highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a reasonably priced place in the 7th Arr.

Date of Stay: 05/29/11 Review Submitted: 07/16/11

Three of us stayed in this quaint apartment for a week in the end of May 2011 and it was perfect for us. It had everything we needed to enjoy our stay in Paris. It was very clean and well maintained. The owners were very accommodating in making our stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. Love, love, love the location. We were just around the corner from the best market street I've seen in Paris. It's a different experience to grab fresh fruit or a pastry every morning for breakfast. We either sat down in the open air cafe and enjoy people watching or took it back to the apartment. Rue Cler also has some awesome ice cream (which we enjoyed every night) and a good place to buy wine from Wine Bacchus. The apartment was a short walk to a metro station and the Eiffel Tower. We felt very safe in this neighborhood. We did not have a car so we did a lot of walking and mastered the "metro". The metro is massive, yet very easy to do and understand. To save money buy a carnet of 10 tickets for 12 euros, which can be shared with other travelers. Not having a car did not slow us down. Don't know where you would park a car at "Resident Valadon" if you had one. We would definitely stay here again. Besides the location, clean place, and safe neighborhood, it was a pleasure dealing with the owners. Communication was top notch. They are two people to be trusted.

We recently stayed at this property and loved the apartment and particularly the location! Close to the metro and right around the corner from Rue Cler with lots of restaurants, bakeries, and food markets at your back door. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and the wireless access was very handy to have. The bathroom is very small, but functional. Quentin was helpful and great about responding to any questions we had. I recommend this property to anyone, so long as you don't mind the stairs, as it's on the 3rd floor. We would be happy to stay here again!

We just returned from our 6 night stay at there Residence Valadon. The location was perfect. We enjoyed being 1 block away from the market and restaurants on Rue Cler. Our daughter loved being just a 10 minute stroll from the Eiffel Tower and the Champs de Mars playground. The metro was a shirt walk away, making the rest of Paris easily accessible. The apartment was well decorated and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We would gladly return and I will recommend it to friends and family.

My wife and two children, ages 15 and 12, found this apartment to be just what we needed. It's in a wonderful neighborhood in the 7eme. Three blocks from a metro, about 100 feet from a grocery store and half a block from one of the best walking streets in Paris (rue Cler). Quentin was very helpful and accommodating. Provided extra pillows and great advice. The bed and sofa bed were both very comfortable. Two thumbs up from all of us.

Girls' Trip to Paris

Guest: bgjam (Concord, NH)
Date of Stay: 02/27/11 Review Submitted: 03/05/11

Took a girlfriend on her first trip to Paris the first week in March 2011. I agree with the other reviews; this was an excellent apartment: comfortably furnished, quiet, and very convenient. My friend took the full sized sleeper sofa and I took the bedroom and it was fine. Wouldn't want to roast a turkey in the kitchen but to bring back bread and cheese, a rotisserie chicken, some salad and a bottle of wine from Rue Cler, it's perfectly fine. Quentin was a pleasure to work with and I would not hesitate to visit again or to recommend this flat to anyone.

Great Central Location For Our family of Four

Guest: Alexis Wes Cole Paige (Victoria BC Canada)
Date of Stay: 02/01/11 Review Submitted: 02/08/11

We stayed in the apartment Feb 1st - Feb 7th 2011 with our 12 and 14 year old. They shared the pull out couch and seemed very comfortable as were we in the bedroom. We cooked breakfast and dinner most days after shopping at the Mkt. shops on Rue de Cler. ( 1 minute away ) The stairs helped us walk off the many croissants we consumed!!! The Metro was 3 minutes away and we walked to many locations throughout Paris from this central location. Visit Monsieur Camembert on Sundays on the Rue Cler with his Camembert clocks!!! Very Funny. Great apartment for us, I would recommend it to all my friends. Kitchen and bathroom very small but just fine.

Perfect week in Paris

Guest: DFK (Palo Alto, CA, USA)
Date of Stay: 01/25/11 Review Submitted: 02/02/11

The listing description, photos, and video are absolutely accurate. The apartment was spotless and is in excellent condition; amenities, appliances, and furnishings are all modern and fresh. Every room has a window and the light is good. The apartment has everything you need to be comfortable and settle in as soon as you arrive, from kitchen staples such as condiments to a heated towel rack. The location was probably even better than I had hoped for and a huge draw: excellent food shopping around the corner, close to the metro, museums, and cultural attractions, but at the same time, a very quiet building on a quiet street with no traffic noise. As a single traveler, I felt quite safe in the building and neighborhood. Quentin was patient, helpful and prompt in answering questions before I arrived, and very courteous and helpful on my arrival. I would not hesitate to recommend the apartment to a friend or relative who wants to experience a bit of daily life in Paris, shopping and walking in a lovely neighborhood while enjoying the comfort and privacy of being in one's own apartment. So much better than staying in a tiny hotel room and eating out every night! Thank you, Quentin, and I hope to be back soon!

We stayed three nights in this great flat. It is a stylish , comfortable and quiet and in a great location. Rue Cler market is a minute away with all its fabulous food shops and the metro is nearby. Rue Dominique is also a lovely street to explore and the Eiffel Tower is quite near so you see it as you walk about which is nice!. It was cold during our stay and the flat was very warm and cosy. The bed is very comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. The computer in the flat meant we did not have to bring our own which was good. All in all we would recommend this place very highly. Francois and Quentin were helpful and made the rental easy and pleasant to set up.

Perfect little flat near the Eiffel Tower

Guest: John (Denver, Colorado)
Date of Stay: 12/05/10 Review Submitted: 12/18/10

My wife and I stayed with our two small girls for three nights in this flat. The location is ideal, right off of Rue Cler. The street has open air markets for fruits, cheese, meat, bread, as well as plenty of cafe's and even a couple grocery stores. The flat is small which is to be expected in Europe. However, it was so nice to have a small kitchen to keep and prepare food for the kids, as well as drinks and snacks. We also loved having access to the free Wifi internet for our laptop to keep our friends and family back home posted about what we were doing. It's just about a 7-10 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower and like 3 minutes to the nearest subway line. Quentin was a great host and made everything very user friendly. The only thing I would caution is that the bathroom and shower are very small, and those that are a little on the larger side might actually have trouble getting in and out of the shower. We have recommended this flat to others already. For the price and location, you really can't find a better place.

My wife and I stayed for 8 days. The apartment was as advertised and everything was what we expected. The location was ideal with local shopping and metro close at hand. The Rue Cler was a great place to shop and wander. We were an easy 10 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower and we would go over in the evenings just to sit and enjoy the lights. Quentin met us the first day to show us everything in the apartment. He was also invaluable as we prepared to leave and the transit strike was underway. He took a lot of time to help us hire a taxi at a time when few were available. We would definitely book here again and hope to return soon. Thank you Quentin for making our trip a success.

We enjoyed staying in your clean, well maintained and nicely decorated apartment at this convenient location. You have provided a wonderful place to stay with so many amenities, much better than a small hotel room. We loved having all the local shops within a block distance to get our basic shopping needs (including wine, cheese & bakery). With the metro system less than a 10- minute walk away, we were able to easily get around the city for our sightseeing. We knew we could get from you any information to make our stay more enjoyable, including getting a taxi for us when we left for our return home. I will recommend your apartment to any of our friends if they travel to Paris!

This is a small but fully equipped apartment in a perfect location in Paris. Its perfect for a couple or a couple with a child. The location is excellent with a quick walk to the Eiffel tower and in a neighhborhood of nice restaurants and shops. Its on the third floor with no elevator, so this may be an issue for some people. We enjoyed having a well-equipped kitchen, clothes washer and a computer at our disposal. Quentin was a pleasure to work with, so if you want a nice apartment as opposed to a small hotel room for about the same price, you need to check out Rue Valadon.

10 Days in May '10

Guest: L. B. (Canada)
Date of Stay: 05/27/10 Review Submitted: 09/12/10

We stayed here for 10 days at the end of May and beginning of June '10. The apartment was just how it looked on the website which is not always the case. It was in a great location- close to shops and the metro. Every night we would jump off the metro, walk up Rue Cler, grab some dinner and breakfast supplies and head to the apartment (we got used to the three flights of stairs very quickly). Lots of great restaurants/cafes around too which made it a bit noisy if we wanted to sleep with the windows open-not an issue at this time of year but might be if you plan to visit in July or August. Quentin was a great host! We needed extra hangers and linen when we arrived so we just emailed him and all arrived the next day while we were out. It was very convenient to have a computer with internet (to email Quentin) and free calls to North America. The apartment is smallish (especially the bathroom) and after 10 days we were feeling a bit cramped but that was just our own claustrophobia. We would definately rent this apartment again for a shorter period.

Convenient location for Paris touring

Guest: AGK (Colorado)
Date of Stay: 05/23/10 Review Submitted: 06/03/10

This Rue Cler apartment was just as indicated on the web site. It was extremely convenient with all the restaurants and markets of Rue Cler just around the corner and the metro stop a couple blocks away. Having a wireless Internet connection available was very handy so we could research Paris information in the evenings. The bed was comfortable and so was the sleeper sofa with it's ingenious design. One thing to be aware of is that the shower has a narrow opening and a large step up so you must be mindful of that. The water is hot but Quentin warned us about this. Even though our train was later that we anticipated, Quentin was there to greet us and provide all the information we needed upon our arrival. We would recommend this apartment as a great place from which to base your Paris excursions.

We recently stayed in this property for a six-day adventure in Paris. The apartment was perfect. The space is clean and tastefully decorated. We were there with our two young children, ages 5 and 3, and found the space to be just right for our family. Both beds were very comfortable and it was nice to have kitchen ammenities as well as a washing machine. The apartment is in a great neighborhood -- we absolutely loved the food life on Rue Cler. We enjoyed amazing pastries, breads, crepes, fruit, cheese, wine....all the essentials of a magnificent vacation and all within a few blocks of the apartment! We found the people that we met here to be very kind and friendly with our children as well. We were able to walk to the Eiffel Tower several times (this was a favorite of the kids), enjoyed great cafes in the neighborhood and were delighted by the ease and proximity of the Metro with which we explored many other parts of the city. I sincerely recommend this property!

We rented this apartment from Quentin in March for 4 nights. It was everything we had hoped for! Perfect apartment - had everything we wanted/needed, and the location couldn't be beat! Around the corner from fabulous Rue Cler, with its' delectable bakeries, and other great food shops, along with cafes and restaurants! Quentin was just an all round great guy - always available if we needed anything (which we didn't), and so personable and helpful. He has really done a super job of creating a stylish, comfortable place to stay. The added benefits of a computer, and larger screen TV were much appreciated, as we were near the end of our trip, and wanted a little down time. We would definitely rent this apartment again! Thanks Quentin!

This apartment was a delight in every way. It's located in an interesting, non-touristy neighborhood near the tour Eiffel. We walked over to the lovely park each day and got our breads, fruits, veggies, meats and chocolates from the exceptional Rue Cler marketplace less than a block away. It is centrally located in the 7th -our new favorite area of Paris. The apartment itself has been lovingly redone by Quentin & his brother. It was perfect for us...a real home away from home. There is no elevator which may be an issue for some, and I thank Quentin for carrying my heavy Christmas - ladden bags up 3 flights! You can count on Quentin to take care of any needs-he is extremely helpful and accommodating. Thanks so much Quentin. We will recommend you & the apartments to all our friends.

We spent a week at Residence Valadon the first week in November in the comfort and care of Quentin and frankly couldn’t have asked for anything more. The apartment is small but definitely accommodated this family of 4 (including 2 teenagers). Both the master bed and pull-out are extremely comfortable (yes, I said the pull-out was comfortable) and the kitchen and bath are clean and well appointed. Free internet wifi and phone are a hugh plus (we were able to keep tabs on the World Series at home). As for location, the prior reviews are spot-on. Steps from the front door on the Rue Cler are some of the best food shops that Paris has to offer. Our favorite bread stop was Pain D’Epis on the corner of Rue du Champ de Mars and Avenue Bosquet (the baguettes Viennoise were the best). Having the Ecole Militaire Metro stop 2 blocks away made everything in Paris easy to get to. As for Quentin, he couldn’t have been a better host. He met us on both ends of our trip to make sure all was well and even arranged for our taxi to the airport. All in all, Residence Valadon was a 10 out of 10.

We stayed in Residence Valadon for a month in the fall of 2009 and found it very comfortable and wonderfully located for food shopping on Rue Cler as well as for walking to our favorite sites, such as the Eiffel Tower, Alexander III bridge, and the Grand Palais. There are many very good restaurants in the area in a variety of price ranges. Its proximity to the Ecole Militaire and La Motte Picquet Grenelle Metro stops made getting around Paris so easy. Having free phone calls and the Internet available to us made planning our days and keeping in touch with family and friends easy. All in all, staying at Residence Valadon made for a fantastic month.

Our family of four stayed at the apartment for 4 nights in August 2009. It met all our expectations. The location is great, on a quiet street a block away from pedestrian Rue Cler with it's many cafes and bakeries and even a new supermarket. It's a two minute walk to the metro and about 10 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower. Apartment is nicely furnished, beds are comfortable, including spring matrass sleeper sofa, bathroom and kitchen newly remodeled. Free calls to the US were very nice. Host Quentin was very good about responding to our questions via email. It was a great stay and we would highly recommend this apartment!

We stayed at Residence Valadon for a week in June, 2009. Quentin was a pleasure to work with, from the time we made our reservation, through arrival and checkout. The apartment is exactly as shown on the website, very comfortable, and the neighborhood is truly very nice - a great experience of life in Paris. We would use VRBO again, and would recommend Quentin's properties to our friends with no hesitation. What a great trip!

Absolutely loved this charming apartment on Rue Valadon where I stayed for 1 week. The location was fabulous, just around the corner from the wonderful shops and restaurants of Rue Cler and minutes walk from the Eiffel Tower. The neighborhood felt extremely safe and I was comfortable walking around by myself late at night. The apartment was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. Quentin and his brother Francois were gracious hosts and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. I would stay there again and highly recommend it to others.

The apartment was a great spot for all of our excursions. The atmosphere of the neighbourhood was fantastic with plenty of places to eat and drink as well as a number of markets to buy cheese, bread, fruits and veggies and take back home. I would stay here again!

We loved our stay in VRBO Listing 219580, Residence Valadon. The apartment was very comfortable and updated. And Quentin, the Manager, was extremely helpful, and saw to it that we didn't want for anything. The location of Residence Valadon - so close to Rue Cler and within walking distance of so many attractions - was perfect. We would most certainly choose Residence Valadon for our next stay in Paris. We couldn't have asked for a better welcome to Paris.
