"Palmetto Palms" is a 4BR/3BA 3 story home located on the closest street to the beach in the upscale family-friendly gated community of Emerald Shores. Views of the Gulf of Mexico are available from two balconies! This home has been professionally remodeled from top to bottom both inside and out and has designer touches galore. OUR PRIVATE BEACH - Located only a 125 yards from the beautiful white sand beaches and emerald green waters of the Gulf, you can easily walk to the beach, pools and restaurants. Emerald Shores has a private beach pavilion with beach service (seasonally staffed), showers, picnic tables, vending machines, and restrooms. This means you don't have to haul the kids back to the house for potty breaks or fresh water rinse off. It's all at the private pavilion.
MULTIPLE FAMILIES - This home is set-up for three families with kids or larger groups. There are two master suites, one on the first floor and one on the third floor with two bedrooms on the middle floor.
FIRST FLOOR - The first floor has a large kitchen with breakfast bar that opens to the living room and dining area. A separate laundry room contains front-load washer/dryer and second full-size fridge for large groups. The first of two over-sized master suites. The master suite has a sitting area with a queen futon sleeper and 40" LCD flat screen tv.
SECOND FLOOR - The second floor has two bedrooms with a shared bathroom. One Queen bedroom and the second has two bunks which are twins over full beds. Both rooms have French doors leading out to a large deck with outdoor seating.
THIRD FLOOR - The third floor is the perfect sanctuary for adults. It is another large master suite with a full bath. This suite has a sitting area with another queen futon sofa sleeper as well as a pub table and two sets of French doors leading out to a private balcony with an outdoor table and chairs. There is also a wet bar with a mini-fridge and coffee maker.

ACTIVITIES - Emerald Shores offers a great community pool just a short walk from the house, a tennis court for you tennis lovers, shuffleboard, and a basketball goal to shoot some hoops. Big Kahunas Water Park is just a short drive down the road or stop by The Track for putt-putt, go karts, arcade games, or amusement park style rides for the little ones.
If you happen to catch a rare rain day, you can catch a movie at the Rave Motion Pictures theater at Destin Commons. There is no shortage of things to do in Destin and all are just a short drive away.
RESTAURANTS - You can easily walk to Captain Dave's on the Gulf or Kenny D's, both are right behind the house. Whether you are looking for something upscale or just looking to loosen your belt to enjoy some fresh Gulf seafood in a casual atmosphere, you will be within minutes of dozens of other great restaurants.
SHOPPING - Bring some shopping money! Palmetto Palms is conveniently located between the Destin Commons and Silver Sands Outlet Center.

Palmetto Palms has a wonderful location and the floor plan was very well thought out. We had 3 couples, one with two children. You could all be together but have private time if you wanted it too. We had meals as a group out on the beautiful porch several times and wine on our personal balcony, it was perfect. The owners were great about answering our question ahead of time and provided a pack and play for our infant. It was so nice not to have to haul that from Iowa The house is exactly as described and as the photos showed .

Jay and Betty, thank you for once again sharing one of your beautiful homes with our family! I believe we started renting from you about 8 or 9 years ago. This was our first time in Palmetto Palms and we fell in love with it. Also, once again, please forgive me for waking you up so early for the phone number. We had a wonderful birthday phone call for Bobby with our son in Afghanistan! Those phone calls are few and far between and it was such a highlight of our vacation. Your home is fully stocked and we wanted for nothing. The excellent condition of the furniture and appliances makes you feel like you are really on a first class vacation! It was the perfect set up for us and we will be renting it again! You make the rental process so easy and being able to do everything via the internet is an added plus for me because of my busy schedule! Hope to be in Destin again next year and in Palmetto Palms or another one of your beautiful homes! Thanks again for making our vacation with our British cousins so very special! Jay and Betty, Just wanted to let you know that your home was just beautiful. We had such a good time in Destin and will probably make it our vacation destination next year. My sisters and families were also very happy with how everything turned out. You had mentioned several months ago about renting a pontoon boat and going to Crab Island...such a great idea! This was the first of many vacation stays at this home! The community and property was wonderful and the extended family fit comfortably in the home. It had even more than what we thought, especially the accommodations for my daughter of 1 1/2...the outdoor space and beach toys made it a blast for her. Jay was also very enjoyable to work with and answered any questions/cocerns we had, especially with the tropical depression we experienced last week...definitely didn't ruin our time there! If I could wave a wand for one thing only though about the community, is I wish in one of the pool areas there was a small kids splash/play area...just something to think about as there were several families staying in the community at that time with small children....didn't hinder our experience though ;-) Hope to be back again next year!

The house was absolutely perfect for our family reunion. We were able to visit our son & family before he was transferred from Eglin AFB. Also found out while there that they're expecting twins in March 2012. Great news, great fun, great scenery!! Couldn't get any better than that.

Our stay at Palmetto Palms was great!!! There was plenty of room for us to enjoy inside and outside and the neighborhood was very private yet in a great location to everywhere! The house was very clean, decorated beautifully, and very well stocked. The owners are very helpful and so nice! We would recommend this rental home to anyone who is wanting to enjoy a beach vacation. We know that we will definitely be back.
