When you open the door to this awesome Poipu, Kauai condo you know you are in paradise. The vast blue ocean, just 35 feet away, is framed by the expanse of floor to ceiling windows. The soothing sounds of the ocean fill the condo and the whispering trade winds carry the island fragrances inside. This environment puts you into the Aloha spirit so quickly that you can almost taste your first Mai Tai. Offering unbeatable views, you can see rainbows, ocean sunsets, whales, turtles, and the best surfing action in all of Poipu, right from the comfort of your own lanai.
The condo projects out from the surrounding units and offers more than 180 degrees of ocean view with its wrap around windows, allowing you to see the sunset no matter the time of year. Its second floor location provides privacy and security. The spacious living room and dining nook have floor to ceiling glass, offering the best view in Poipu. The furniture is Hawaiian style rattan and the artwork is island themed. Tile and bamboo floors complete the tropical look. The spacious lanai accommodates four very comfortably. The condo is equipped with a large flat panel TV, DVD player, surround sound, and telescope and binoculars for whale watching. Beach equipment for your day trips include four quality beach chairs, beach towels, boogey boards, sand toys, and beach coolers.
Each of the two bedrooms has a king size bed, a ceiling fan, and plenty of storage. The windows in the bedrooms have plantation shutters and face the mountains, allowing you to sleep easy as the trade winds sweep through the unit. Two twin size floor mattresses and a portable crib/playpen are available for children. Both full bathrooms feature large marble showers and imported seashell sinks and seahorse faucets from France. The kitchen has oak cabinets and granite counter tops. It is fully equipped with a Sub-Zero refrigerator with icemaker and GE dishwasher, stove/oven, and microwave. A blender, toaster, coffeemaker, top quality pots and pans, and numerous gadgets make your culinary adventures enjoyable. The Kuhio Shores BBQ area has two high quality propane barbecues conveniently located for your use. Dine at the glass and rattan table surrounded by windows. Seating is available for two more at the bar.
If you like to snorkel or surf, you’ll love this spot. Directly to the right is a sand beach that Sunset Magazine once named the best snorkeling spot on the south shore of Kauai. When the south swell hits, surf spots Smokey’s, PK’s, Centers and Acid Drop are perfect and located literally downstairs. The Beach House restaurant sits adjacent to the building and offers a gourmet dining experience with amazing sunset views. Less than a 5 minute car ride takes you to historic Koloa Town, the grounds of the Grand Hyatt Resort, and the stunning Poipu beach (ranked by the Travel Channel as one of the best beaches in the world!).

Holiday Rates (Dec. 24 through Jan. 2): $275 per night plus tax (13.41%)
$125 cleaning fee for stays of less than seven nights.
A refundable $250 deposit will reserve your vacation accommodations
Upon receipt of payment, the keys to your vacation rental are sent to you.
Cancellation Policy: After payment is made, only those portions of your stay
that we are able to rebook are refunded to you.

Larry and Susan McDaniel have owned #218 Kuhio Shores since 1998 when they totally remodeled. They have continued to upgrade the condo through the years. When they aren’t enjoying their Hawaiian paradise, they live in coastal Encinitas, CA, a small surf town in North County San Diego. They have been traveling to Kauai with their family for more than thirty years and have a great love of the island and its secrets.

How fortunate can we be to have found this amazing condo!?! We love watching the turtles, the whales, the sunsets and this year the many weather patterns across the sky. And the RAINBOWS!!!

I have been awed almost constantly by the beauty here and I don’t believe I could find a more perfect, heavenly view than the one from your lanai-it’s true, the pictures online don’t do it justice.

This is our fourth rental at Kuhio shores and your condo is certainly the tops for us. The views from the lanai and dining area are fantastic and the cross ventilation is wonderful. Your condo is spacious, comfortable and complete with all of the items to make visits very enjoyable.
