Why the Owner Chose Beltzville Lake
Beltzville Lake and State Park are truly beautiful and peaceful, and yet are only 1 1/2 hours from Philadelphia, and 2 hours from New York City. The lodge is such a short drive away from many major cities, and yet, so far removed from the hustle and bustle of every-day life. We brought our children to Beltzville countless times over the years, and have many happy memories of picnics, swimming, hiking, boating, and fishing at the lake! We maintain a private apartment in the lower level of the house, so we still enjoy the benefit of living in this beautiful place while offering the larger upstairs living area to our guests.
The Unique Benefits at this Lodge
The lodge has six guest rooms, each very private, with their own bathroom, balcony, fireplace, and cable tv. All six bedrooms, are located off of the central great room, which has a 26-foot stone two-sided fireplace. The house is ideal for spending lots of quality time together with family and friends, and yet allows for alone-time if that is what you are looking for. The dining room opens to the back deck, which overlooks the 8-mile long Beltzville Lake. There are hiking trails all around the lake, and you can walk to the lake right from the house if you like. The State Park and swimming area are just two miles from the house, and there are picnic areas, swimming areas, and boat rentals available during the summer months. In the winter, Blue Mountain Ski Area is just 8 miles from the house, and Big Boulder and Camelback are just a bit further. The scenic, historic town of Jim Thorpe is just 11 miles from the house, with an abundance of restaurants, art galleries, and museums. For the nature enthusiast, there are biking trails, white water rafting, kayaking, and paint ball all within 15 minutes from the house.
Owner's Map of Beltzville Lake
Mel & Lisa lived in the nearby area for 20 years before buying the lodge in 2003. After growing up in Morris County, New Jersey, they decided to raise their children in the Poconos, and fell in love with not only the people here, but also the many parks, lakes, and other natural wonders all within a short drive.

Super Family Vacation at a Superb Vacation Property

Entire family (12 adults) spent a wonderful week together in a superb setting. Lodge extremely well maintained, clean. Bedrooms, dining room area, living room/den area are better than roomy--they are spacious. Very well laid out for extended meals, games, catch up talks, group viewing of family movies/photos on the flat screen TV, yet plenty of privacy--each bedroom with its own bath and porches. Large deck with great view and plenty of seating/tables. Entire lodge was clean and well-maintained and completely outfitted--bed linens, bath and hand towels, every kitchen item possibly needed, washer and dryer, plenty of seating at dining table and around fireplace. Lisa and Mel extremely helpful, responsive, patient. Responded promptly to every question. Flexed their schedule to allow an on-site recon visit. Asked about a slow cooker and waffle maker--no problem--both were provided. Excellent location--next to lake with kyaking, boating; minutes from Jim Thorpe, whitewater rafting, hiking, train rides, biking, history tours/visits. Excellent local tour/visit information on hand. Beautiful location-quiet, peaceful. Huge lawn, great for games. Our week was outstanding and the lodge was perfect.

Perfect House for Family Vacation!

We stayed at this beautiful and clean house for 5 days for our annual family vacation. We were a group of 14 ranging in age from 11 to 88 spanning three generations. As seasoned family vacationers, we all agreed that this house was the best among many houses that we rented in the past in terms of lay-out, cleanliness, amenities, etc. We loved the neatly typed notes that were posted throughout the house. Every bed in the house was decorated with an adorable stuffed animal. The dining room was big enough for all of us to have a sit-down meal together. We especially loved the living room with the huge fireplace. This is the room where we spent family quality time playing board games, doing karaoke and watching movies at night. Lisa and Mel were extremely responsive and nice to deal with, before, during and after our stay. We would highly recommend this house to our friends and extended families.

Great Family Mini-reunion!!

Our extended family had a fabulous long weekend reunion here. We unanimously recommend this home to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area. The home is great, with all the modern conveniences. It is even better than the 2D photos on the website. With each bedroom having its own private full bath, and then the large open area between, the floor plan is perfect. We filled every bedroom, but no one ever felt crowded. The kitchen has everything needed to prepare meals for a very large group. The dining area is big enough and has enough chairs so everyone can eat together, such as supper, or individually when they want, such as breakfast or lunch. The "2nd kitchen" and refrigerator came in very handy. Everything worked perfectly, and the home was spotless and well-maintained. Lisa was an amazing and gracious hostess; she went above and beyond to help us. She answered all our questions, even met us for a "scouting" tour, and provided extensive infomation about the area. The home and yard have so much to do that our family just stayed there one day playing games, riding bikes and other toys in the driveway, sitting on the beautiful deck, enjoying the scenery and each other. On the 2nd day, some did go down to the State Park and took a boat ride, and had a good time with the park amenities. We had absolutely no comlaints or issues. The home and our weekend could not have been better.

We stayed at the house for 5 days. It is even better than advertized. The house is huge in size, can easily host 2-3 families, and it is 1 minute drive from a fantastic, clean, sandy beach, and with further driving you will find many more attractions. The facilities are new, and our 4 kids (age 2-9) had great time and lots of memories. Communicating with the owners was clear, the hospitality was generous, and it was pleasure spending part of our vacation there. We highly recommend.

Outstanding Home for Extended Families and Close Friends

I highly recommend this place. We have been to the Lakeview lodge twice (winter ski trip and 4th of July weekend). The house is clean and beautiful. The bedrooms are excellent with a full bath in each. Kitchen is stocked with the right equipment to feed big groups easily (up to 15). The dining room and living room are spacious. The views are terrific all year round. The state park up the road is a lot of fun during the Summer and the house is a short drive from Blue Mountain during ski season. Lisa, the owner, is terrific and helps suggest activities during your stay.

We are a group of seniors, about half a dozen couples of old friends from schooldays in New York. We now are living all around the country and reunite annually for most of a week at various lacations and have been doing so for 12 years. To date this has been the best house we have rented...hands down. Most large rental houses contain a master suite or two and the other bedrooms are often meager and sometimes do not have desired bedding or private baths. All six of this home's bedrooms contained quality queens, their own bath, balcony, TV, and were all furnished nicely. The public rooms consisting of Dining, Living, Kitchen, Bar area and Kitchen dining area were all sized and furnished perfectly. The rear and front common porches were great...good views of lake. woods and grasslands. Nearby are very nice hilly walking streets with almost no traffic and beautiful country settings. One of our friends requires a ramp entrance and this home is set up with all these necessary needs in one of the suites. Our hosts, Lisa and Mel, have done a great job with the total property which is evident in it's design, decoration, furnishings, appliances, and friendly management. The result is a spotless home with wonderful ambience in a perfect Pennsylvania country setting. We had a memorable reunion!
