Ten minutes from the southern portion of beautiful Lake Champlain, 30 miles from the summertime hot spot of Lake George, New York (Six Flags!), and 45 miles from major ski resorts, this lakeside Adirondack vacation rental, located on the border of New York and Vermont, is perfect for hunters, ski bums, fishermen, families, or for a romantic getaway. Great for out-of-staters who want to do one overnight in Manhattan...simply take the afternoon train from the local train station in Whitehall, which brings you straight into Penn Station in the heart of Manhattan. Explore, sleep over, then take the morning train back up to Whitehall!
TWENTY-SIX STEPS bring you down to the quiet, cozy lakefront home with a sizeable yard, nice-sized deck, three bedrooms (one queen, one full, three twins) and two baths. It is situated on a quiet, well-maintained road. Canoe, pedal boat, or fish from the rowboat in the private lake with the picturesque mountain as a backdrop. (Please note: motorized boats are not allowed on this lake. Sorry...)
Nearby towns play host to many events, such as Americade, the World's Largest Yard Sale, the Adirondack (hot air) Balloon Festival, weekly fireworks and boat cruises on Lake George, hiking, exploring caves, waterfalls, and much more!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
WHAT IS YOUR RATE?
During the fall and winters months (from September 6 to June 6), the house rents for $500 per WEEK, an affordable fall or winter getaway! A $300 security deposit will be used to secure the dates and will be returned after check-out inspection. (Please note: If you only want the house for a few nights, the weekly rate will still apply--no pro-rates.)
During the summer season, June, July, August, and through the first week of September: $1500 per week, minimum one-week stay, plus $300 deposit.
ALL RESERVATIONS ARE FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED. PHOTO ID AND SIGNED LEASE AGREEMENT REQUIRED.
WHAT ARE THE CHECK-IN DAYS AND TIMES?
During the winter, the stay is seven nights/eight days. Check-in and check-out times are flexible depending on occupancy.
During the summer, the stay is seven days, six nights. Check-in is Saturday at noon and check-out is the following Friday at noon. No exceptions.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
If you cancel six weeks or more before your arrival date, you will receive a 100% refund. If you cancel less than six weeks before your arrival date, you will receive your deposit back but the rental fee will be forfeited and no rescheduling in exchange will be allowed unless we rent out your week first.
CAN WE SWIM IN THE LAKE?
Yes! It's very clean. Bring your snorkel equipment! We have a canoe, a "pedal" boat, a row boat, life jackets for children (50-90 lbs.), and life jackets for adults. SWIM AND USE OUR EQUIPMENT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
HOW CLOSE IS THE WATER?
It is down the hill, which is good if you have children because they can't wander right out the door and into the water. (Please note: the deck has locking gates to help keep smaller children safe. For example, a child in a walker.)
IS THERE A TELEPHONE?
Yes, there are four land lines, all with unlimited free calling within the domestic U.S.
IS THERE INTERNET AT THE HOUSE?
Internet service is available at the house for those bringing laptops.
IS THERE A TV?
While there is a 26" flat screen TV for DVD viewing, there is NO CABLE OR TV-WATCHING PER SE, which allows guests to get back to the basics and unwind . . . playing darts, poker, board games, having drinks with friends, listening to music, canoeing, fishing, and roasting marshmallows around a crackling fire underneath a starry sky.
HOW CLOSE ARE GROCERY STORES AND RESTAURANTS?
The closest town is about five miles away; there are several little towns in both New York and in around-the-corner Vermont.
HOW FAR IS IT FROM...?
From NYC: A little over four hours by car.
CAN WE VISIT MANHATTAN FROM HERE?
You can take the train from Whitehall (five miles from the house) directly to Penn (Pennsylvania) Station in Manhattan. Please check the Amtrak train schedule for times.
CAN WE BRING OUR PET?
I am sorry but we do not allow pets. PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE and don't ask us to make exceptions because we will not.
HOW CLOSE IS GOOD HIKING?
The Bomoseen Trails is 11 miles away in Hydeville, VT. (The Vermont state line is about five miles from the house.) Visit a Web page called wildernet for information on this hiking trail.
