My husband and I were looking for some real relaxation time. We got just what we wanted. The Carriage House was perfect. It was clean, cozy and very comfortable. We found it very quiet and enjoyable here. The owner recommended some great places to eat in Carbondale. We had a great time checking out the hot springs in Glenwood Springs, biking, sight seeing and just enjoying kicking back without any of the everyday rat race! Wonderful time - wishing we were there again!Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

When we tell friends that we are returning to Carbondale, Colorado to spend a week, we get usually get a blank look. People know about Aspen or Glenwood Springs but not Carbondale, which may be one of the reasons it is such an excellent place to visit. Carbondale offers great bicycling on beautifully maintained bike paths and roads, hiking, fly fishing, excellent restaurants with a range of prices, friendly people, a local rodeo in the summer, music, a family friendly downtown, a temperate climate, and incomparable views of the majestic Mt. Sopris. You will see more residents than tourists in this town. An excellent public transportation system runs frequently up and down the valley from early morning until after dark. The Carriage House, which is conveniently close to Carbondale, Colorado, is an attractively furnished, quiet, clean, comfortable and spacious apartment which works well as a base from which to explore the Roaring Fork Valley or just hang out and read. The modern kitchen is fully equipped and has sufficient dishes to have friends over for a meal. Handsome landscaping and proximity to the bike path are additional reasons for saying at the Carriage House. There are unobstructed 180° views from the windows of the stunning Roaring Fork Valley. Step outside for 360° views, and on a clear night, more stars than you thought possible in the skies. Judy, the owner, greeted us warmly. She has a wealth of information about the Valley and shares our enthusiasm for this best kept secret in Colorado. She is an excellent hostess, available to answer questions, but never intrusive. We highly recommend both the Carriage House and Carbondale.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Marion, you should be a writer for the Carbondale chamber. Glad you enjoyed the area as much as I do.

We came here for a short winter sports trip and really enjoyed the property. It is conveniently located between Glenwood Springs and Carbondale for easy access to any number of outdoor recreational activities. It is in an upstairs garage apartment (do not let that dissuade you) that truly has all the amenities. The kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and living room are all top-end construction and well-kept. The owner is everything you would want: very easy to deal, helpful, but otherwise totally non-intrusive. This place is a really nice size for a couple and very romantic. The kitchen allowed us to make some of our own meals, but there are plenty of nice restaurant choices up-valley in Carbondale and Basalt that are better than Glenwood, but the Hot Springs are great.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

Just got back from a wonderful weekend in Carbondale. The carraige house was the perfect spot to kick back and relax. The house is in a great community with awesome views all the way around. In the day you can walk along the Roaring Fork. The night sky is spectacular. The house was spacious enough for our toddler to run around and explore. And it was separate enough from the main house that we didn't have to worry about his pitter patter disturbing anyone else. We don't think the owner would have minded anyway. Thank you Judy for the hospitality! We'll be back soon if there is a lot of snow on the ground.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

This part of the country is spectacular and this Carriage House is exceptional. Wonderful vistas right out your main and bedroom windows. The unit is extremely well appointed with a decorator's touch. The VBRO description is right on the money. Having the owner living next store is also plus as she is there for any questions or if any issue come up. My wife and I cannot wait to have another opportunity to come back to stay in this quite and serene space.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Why the Owner Chose Glenwood Springs:
I am a divorced 52 year old. I built this house in 2006. I live here in the main house with my cats Simon and Oliver. I've lived and enjoyed the Valley for over 25 years. I love the natural surrounding, alternative lifestyle to a large City and the access to the pristine mountains and cultural events.
