Lakefront home on a quiet cove on the western shore of Lake Champlain, with privacy from neighbors, on a quiet lake road ending at forever wild area. Farmland is the front yard neighbor, and the back yard is lakefront (with a seawall and built-in broad steps to a stony beach, and a shaded yard with a lovely hammock for two!) Mooring available, marina nearby. Five miles from small city of Plattsburgh, but 65 miles from Montreal, a ferry ride from Vermont, and 40 miles to Lake Placid, Saranac Lake. There are many golf courses and state parks nearby. This region is still unspoiled, and reminiscent of an earlier time.
Katrina housing
This is a house for cooks. In town is a wonderful gourmet food shop, a natural foods co-op, and in summer a farmer's market. Featured is a 1940's Chambers stove with a brass hood, around which a custom kitchen was tastefully built divided from the fireplace living room by a "kitchen helpers" bar which hides the working kitchen, but allows guests to kibitz with the cook.
This is a fully-equipped home, complete with original art, not a camp or vacation cabin, which I occasionally share with or rent to others, as I cannot use it every week

Weeks of July 4th & Labor Day .... $1500/week.
