Silver Cedars Cabin is located 10 miles from Government Camp/Mt Hood along Lolo Pass Road in Zig Zag Village right on the Sandy River. The cabin is situated at the end of a road with spectacular views into a 22 acre wooded parcel and a year-round creek. The cabin is completely renovated as of January 2009 (only the framing is original). The cabin has a modern/rustic feel with hand-made custom furniture, unique flooring and one of a kind concrete countertops with recycled glass. You can also relax on the large deck (partially covered) on the side and back of the cabin with a view of the creek and a hot-tub.
The master bedroom is an open loft upstairs with a queen bed and a pull-out futon double bed. The downstairs bedroom also has a queen bed. The living room has a new queen-size sofa bed.
The Sandy River is right across the street with a rope swing for the kids. There are plenty of trails within walking distance and a community pool/tennis courts just down the road. The ski resorts, including Ski Bowl and Summit Ski Resort and the turn off for Timberline, are just 10 miles away. Cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing, bike riding and hiking are literally just feet from the cabin.
The National Forest boundary is just a few miles away where you can hike to waterfalls, snowmobile and get views of Mt Hood. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from in the towns of Welches, Zig Zag and Rhododendron. The closest grocery store is just 3 miles away. The Resort at the Mountain Golf Course is approximately 5 miles away.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was peaceful and quiet and the cabin was well stocked with most everything that you might need. Loved that it sat right on a stream, very relaxing. Would stay here again in a hearbeat.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed 3 nights last October and we fell in love with it! It's so amazingly beautiful I can't believe it's a RENTAL!! They have thought of every convenience for you so all you have to do is relax and enjoy yourself. Whether you want to laze around and watch movies or go skiing, hiking, swimming it's all there! We are going back tonight to spend another 3 days and can't wait. Thank you Susan! We stayed at this cabin for our wedding anniversary and it was perfect! Super clean, had everything you could possibly need. It was so great to sit in the hot tub & watch the snow fall. Beautiful! The owner was great to deal with, answered all correspondence in a timely manner and was incredibly helpful. We would highly recommend renting this cabin & we will be back!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We love Mt. Hood. We've stayed in 8 different cabins and this is our favorite. If you're looking for country-themed comforter covers, you might be a bit disappointed. If you're looking for a modern cabin with a great kitchen, a hot tub, toys and games for your kids, amazing morning light with a pool and tennis courts a short walk along the Sandy River nearby, you'll love it.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We spent three days in "the woods" in June 2009. The kids enjoyed the well-chosen toys, spent hours at the creek, and we all enjoyed walking around on the local trails. The cabin is outstanding; well designed, nicely arranged and has an excellent "feel" with all the glazing. We have used VRBO numerous times over the last 17 years and this place is one of the best we have found. WE WILL COME BACK! Thank you especially for making it reasonable and accomodating. You obviously have put a lot of work into this cabin. Thank you very much.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
