This tastefully renovated 400 sq. ft. apartment has a private entrance and windows that face the street. It is furnished with a queen-sized bed, bureau, nightstands, a dining/writing table and a full kitchenette. The space is decorated with country antiques, giving it a warm feel with a modern sensibility. Period touches include: white subway and hexagonal tiles in the bathroom, wainscoting on the walls, and the original wood floors. A large dressing area with generous closet space divides the main room from a luxurious bathroom, which includes all new fixtures and a huge walk-in shower.
Straddling the neighborhoods of Bushwick, Brooklyn and Ridgewood, Queens, the studio is 5 blocks away from the Dekalb Street 'L' train station—one of the best subway lines in the city. Union Square, the heart of downtown Manhattan, is only 15 minutes away via a direct subway ride; Williamsburg, Brooklyn's stylish boutiques, bars and restaurants are only a 7 minute train ride away. Ours is a quieter, more residential neighborhood. It is safe and ethnically diverse, with plenty of it's own charms—like local Italian bakeries, Halal butcher shops, Equadorian bodegas, Polish food markets and the best tasting Mexican tamales we've ever come across.
In recent years, the conversion of a number of buildings and factories in the area to artists live/work lofts has brought an influx of businesses—including the first stylish café, gallery, and restaurant/late-night lounge, all of which are walking distance from the studio.

We are both designers and love creating warm, inviting spaces for our guests. We reside in the building in which the rental studio is located, so it's always a pleasure to meet our guests and to give them tips on interesting places to visit.

Adorable place and family! We stayed here for a little less than a week and it was perfect! The family was very sweet and helpful. They had a map with suggestions of places to check out and anything else we may have needed to know. The location was really nice, close to the subway and the street seemed very safe. When we came home late it wasn't scary or an issue at all. The room was very clean and maintained, they kept us very comfortable! If I ever need a place to stay in NY this will be on the top of my list! Loved it!

We can strongly recommend this nice and comfortable apartment!! It's exactly as advertised: newly renovated, clean, comfortable!! Not far from downtown - but far enough to find rest in a nice and quiet neighborhood. We felt very welcome by the friendly landlords and well supported in any question that could arise. Great studio in brooklyn close to L train My girlfriend and I stayed here for 5 days the week after Thanksgiving and loved this charming studio. I recommend it to anyone wanting to go sightseeing in Manhattan without having to pay for an expensive hotel. Upon arriving they had a bottle of wine, some chocolates and a map of the local area on the table. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The owners live in the same building and made sure we had plenty of blankets and heat during the winter nights. They also gave us some pointers on local coffee shops and points of interest. It's a 5 minute walk to the L train and a 15 minute ride into Manhattan without having to change trains. The neighborhood is safe, but with anywhere in the city you need to be cautious after 3am.

I was so blessed to stumble on this gem! It's a gorgeous and cozy studio and Kermit and Azadeh are a wonderful couple. I was so glad to get to rent from a family rather than give my money to a large hotel chain. I also loved being outside the city to get some decompressing time. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was very clean and having access to a computer with internet was great! I would highly recommend using this Studio if you plan on visiting New York City. I never felt unsafe.
