The "Green Heron" was named for the many green herons that can be seen cruising the canal for their dinner. The views include the intracoastal, the ocean and fantastic sunsets from the sunset/cocktail deck. You can launch your boat nearby and bring it around to your private dock for easy access to fishing, clamming and water skiing.
All the bedrooms have sliding doors to decks with lounging furniture. The lower master has a private bath. The 2 other lower bedrooms have 2 twins each that can be connected to form king-size beds. The upper master has an over-sized closet area that has a portable crib in it. Linens can be rented for $50/week.
The kitchen is completely furnished with all utensils and amenities. There is seating at the breakfast bar as well as at the dining table. The living room furniture is comfortable and allows spectacular views. The house is equipped with games, movies and books. There are plenty of places nearby to rent kayaks, bicycles and surf boards. NOW WITH WIFI!
The house is located on a quiet road that dead-ends on the waterway. The beach is at the other end of the road with it's own crossover. There is no limit to the fun you can have on our beautiful island. Come join us!!

We had a wonderful time, home was clean and very comfortable. Owners were great to work with and answered any questions we had. Canal front boat dock was a plus, we brought our 18' Sea Pro and two kayaks with us, every day we were boating. The beach is very close...150 yards away. We loved the home and will definitely come back. We also brought out two dogs who also loved the beach. Only one issue, so many great things to do the week went by way too fast!

I have rented many times from VRBO.com but this was by far the cleanest and most comfortable rental I have ever stayed in. The pictures do not do this house justice. The house was so cute and comfortable and the views were incredible no matter where you looked. We visited over Thanksgiving and had no trouble cooking in the kitchen. This house had everything we needed and more. It was a short walk to the beach but we spent most of the time lounging on the decks. The owner's were a joy to work with and we would certainly stay here in the future.

My husband and I take bi-annual week long vacations to Topsail mainly to fish. When we saw this listing on VRBO, we contacted the owner, had timely correspondence with her, and were looking forward to renting this house for our fall trip. We were not disappointed. The house was very clean, had plenty of kitchen space, plenty of dishes and utensils for us to cook with. There were clean towels and clean linen placed in every room. Very nice washer and dryer provided. It was a very relaxing time, and we will certainly return!
