The 'Green Heron' was named for the many green herons that can be seen cruising the canal for their dinner. The views include the intracoastal, the ocean and fantastic sunsets from the sunset/cocktail deck. You can launch your boat nearby and bring it around to your private dock for easy access to fishing, clamming and water skiing.
All the bedrooms have sliding doors to decks with lounging furniture. The lower master has a private bath. The 2 other lower bedrooms have 2 twins each that can be connected to form king-size beds. The upper master has an over-sized closet area that has a portable crib in it. Linens can be rented for $50/week.
The kitchen is completely furnished with all utensils and amenities. There is seating at the breakfast bar as well as at the dining table. The living room furniture is comfortable and allows spectacular views. The house is equipped with games, movies and books. There are plenty of places nearby to rent kayaks, bicycles and surf boards. NOW WITH WIFI!
The house is located on a quiet road that dead-ends on the waterway. The beach is at the other end of the road with it's own crossover. There is no limit to the fun you can have on our beautiful island. Come join us!!

This is a great vaction house, very nice!!! my family enjoyed your House very much, we will be back, We dock our boat right in front of the house got out of it, it was nice not to load it back on the trailer everytime..Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

We always enjoy our stay at the green heron. We have plenty of room, the sunsets are awesome and we enjoy the water with the dock for our boat. Always clean and neat and the fresh flowers and candy bowl are a plus!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We were very pleased with this rental property. Everything was neat and clean when we arrived. There were flowers in all the rooms and a dish of candy on the kitchen counter. It made us feel welcome and gave it a very homey touch. The owners also left a few notes which were very helpful and again welcoming. The owner stopped by the day after we arrived to check and make sure we had everything we needed and that everything was in working order ( which it was). The house is in a quiet location and is the closest to the beach of any of the houses we have rented in the past 8 years. We will definitely look into renting it again next year. A big thank you to the owners for a wonderful vacation!Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

One of the best rentals we've had on Topsail Island. Very clean, well stocked kitchen. We caught crabs right off the dock. My wife and the girls loved the fresh flowers in the rooms. As advertised, the Green Heron is a great beach house! The location is perfect, with the beach a few strides away. We caught many fish from the dock and boardwalk, and the decks are spacious. The house is roomy and well appointed with plenty of room for family to mingle. Our Boxer dog felt at home from the moment she walked in. We had a wonderful time and will be back!Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We recently stayed at the Green Heron. The home was great, and it provided the best of both worlds (the ocean and sound). We enjoyed the all around views of the Intracoastal waterway and the short walk to the beach was no problem. The house is laid out very well, clean, each room is spacious, and the living areas are open and bright. The owners are responsive and easy to work with and we are so thankful they allow pets! We watched the sea turtles be released while we were there and we recommend everyone visit the Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

I had the pleasure of staying in this home the first week of June 2012 with my family--10 of us-6 adults and four children. It is an awesome house and the pictures do not do it justice. It is light filled and has views from every window!!! Great large decks to enjoy the views as well. Very clean. I would recommend it to friends!! On a quiet street with easy access to the beach. We got to see the Turtle Release while there and that was awesome. Frequented the nearby fish market and ate great seafood!Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband, daughter, and I spent a lovely May week in this house. It is convenient to the beach, very comfortable, extremely clean, and all in all just great. It was nice to be able to have our daughter's dog with us. Highly recommend this house.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful time, home was clean and very comfortable. Owners were great to work with and answered any questions we had. Canal front boat dock was a plus, we brought our 18' Sea Pro and two kayaks with us, every day we were boating. The beach is very close...150 yards away. We loved the home and will definitely come back. We also brought out two dogs who also loved the beach. Only one issue, so many great things to do the week went by way too fast!Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.
