Had a lovely visit to this picturesque Maine cottage. Ray and Jo could not have been nicer and the waterfront location can not be beat. Pair of bald eagles right down the street and a short stroll to multiple hiking trails. Highly recommended.

Owner response: We love sharing our beautiful piece of Maine. We caught an eagle bathing out front this summer and it was spectacular to observe. We also were lucky to see snow geese while cross country skiing one winter. So glad to know your vacation was what it should be.
We absolutely loved being here!!! The peaceful location of this retreat was perfect. The beautiful home is steps away from a serene bay and a short walk to the remarkable Petite Manan Refuge. We could not have been happier with the easily accessible hiking opportunities our house provided. Hiking the Hollingsworth trail was a gem! The home is tucked away at the end of the peninsula which gave it a far away feel, but it was conveniently located to Acadia and the surrounding stunning Maine coastline and charming harbor towns. The owner, Ray was great. He greeted us with lots of helpful advice on our first day and every one of his recommendations was spot on. The house was very charming, clean, and comfortable. The design and layout was interesting and cozy. Two separate decks, one facing the ocean and one facing the woods, provided a different feel depending upon our mood. The open floor plan and high ceilings had great flow. We love to cook and the kitchen was well appointed, from a great set of knives to everything you need to cook all the fantastic local seafood. I enjoyed taking and outdoor shower every morning after a run thru the Refuge. We loved seeing the resident bald eagles right outside the house and hearing the calming sounds of the lobster boats on a foggy morning. My girlfriend and I have rented some nice places the last few years all over the Northeast but this was by far our favorite. It was great!!

A Cozy Autumn Retreat
A Cozy Autumn Retreat
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Pigeon Hill Bay in October. The cottage truly was a retreat, with a simple yet elegant feel. The cottage was the perfect place to relax, and the location was superb: allowed us to explore the Wildlife Refuge, as well as take day trips throghout Downeast Maine. Hosts were great and helpful with making recommendations on activities and food as they're local to the area. Thanks for a great stay -- hope to be back!

Real summer vacation
Real summer vacation
My family and me have real vacation on this place from tired life. We can see clear, quite and beautiful ocean view all day. The cottage has new modeling and it is best place for my 4 family member. The owner, Ray and Joan are so nice. Specialy, Pigeon Hill is so beautiful hill that we think it is same or better than the Acadia park view. We hope we have next vacation at there again.

This is a wonderful property that we really enjoyed. It affords a wonderful view of the ocean, it has a fully stocked kitchen, it is a new property with wonderful, wonderful architecture and attention to detail ! Ray was a great host and I would recommend this property to others. People should note that there is not a telephone, washer/dryer.nor a hook-up to any television channels. But there is a TV with a DVD player and movie rentals are availabile in Millbridge. Due to the lack of a phone, wahser/dryer and television service I would rate the property a "4"; on other counts I would rate the property as a "5"

Why the Owner Chose Steuben:
Working in the area lead us to this beautiful unique place. The peacefulness combined with the Petit Manan Wildlife Refuge 1/2 mile walk was like a gift. The original cottage was the Petit Manan Yacht Club but was too old to repair. This newly organically designed cottage offers a view in every direction. We are proud and pleased to share it.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Incredible views, eagles and multiple shore birds. A very relaxing atmosphere, endless outdoor hikes from the cottage up along the coast of Maine to Canada just 11/2 hours away if you're so inclined. Wonderful boat tours of the many outer islands or whale watch tours. Or...relax and be comfortable in our cottage with all its comfort and simple but beautiful decor.
