This was a beautiful property in a stunning location. The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms are small but perfectly suited for children. We felt very welcomed too. A car is a must though.

Our (husband and wife) only regret was not being able to stay longer. This is a beautiful guest house that's very comfortable, upscale and inviting. The grounds are immaculate, the deck - with view - is perfect for eating outdoors, the Internet connection fast and easy (important for us!). It was a good base for our touring around Portland and the area - not right in the middle of the city, but within 20-30 minutes of anything we'd want. There are nice hiking trails right there and some great road bike rides for those so inclined!

We spent 10 days at this great NW Portland property. Well maintained, secluded, yet convenient to downtown Portland and neighboring communities. Property owners on site in their private home allow you to enjoy your privacy. Real nice VRBO for couples or families of 4.

The loft was spacious, clean and more than we expected. The pictures barely do it justice. Bryant was very helpful with our questions and even gave us a tour of the property and neighborhood. The location was perfect for us... easy access to downtown and also the Columbia Falls area. The local brew pubs were really good too!

The experience we had at this rental was superb. It is beautiful, clean and overall an experience to remember. The most accurate description is that it is an adult treehouse. It's beautiful! This place is also perfect for children. We have two young children who did not want to leave and continue to ask about when we are returning to Oregon. The owners of the property are friendly, courteous and helpful in every single way. This rental is close enough to downtown Portland so that you may experience the city daily if you would like but the rental is nestled on a mountainside so that you can also experience "country life" without going far. It is the best mix of both worlds. We have recommended this place to all of our friends and will be returning as soon as possible.

We had a wonderful time. The location is close enough to all the action - 20 minutes drive to downtown, yet far enough away to be in the forest. We loaded up on groceries and had dinner in most nights after touring the sights. Appreciated all the amenities and the garden area.

Our 1 week stay was great. The loft is very comfortable and has all the luxury you may want. You will find yourself reading a book on a nice terrace with a great view over Beaverton. From this residence you can visit the city of Portland (jetboats, Powell's bookshop) after a 15 minute drive and many other nice places to visit within a 1 hour drive like the Multanomah Falls and many others. The nanny and her husband are also prepared to help to make the stay very nice.

We are from So Cal wanted to getway from the hot triple digit weather! This was just an amazng find for our family. We had adult children that slept in the two bedrooms and found the beds very nice, although the room was small but had a pleasureable sleep. The sound system was a nice treat and ate breakfast on the deck while listening to music. The surroundings were just amazing and wish we had more time to spend at your place but we were out seing the sights. I love the openess of the floor plan. You have designed it very well with good use of space. It is close enough to town yet we were in the woods! I will definitely come back again! Thank you for you hospitality and Gordon was a pleasure to talk to!

Outstanding space, perfect for a family visit to Portland. The hosts were very attentive, personable and professional... when we arrived we were greeted with a gift basket and a warm handshake from the owner, and the space was immaculately clean with all the conveniences of home. My four year old daughter made an immediate friend with the host's four year old son, and to my family this locale felt like "home away from home." The master bedroom is very large, and the deck is perfect for enjoying dinner or a glass of wine. Great hardwood floors and excellent shower / steamroom. The two additional bedrooms are small but perfect for kids, and the backyard play structure is an excellent amenity for young children. Lastly, the location is gorgeous - feels like a mountain retreat but is only 15-20 minutes from downtown. The only word of caution I might offer is that if it's your goal to spend a lot of time in the heart of the city, you may aim for a closer locale. In short, especially for the price, this place is outstanding and highly recommended.

We enjoyed our stay at this loft so much that we did less sight-seeing than we normally do when we travel to a new location! That is because the loft is in a very beautiful, peaceful, and quiet setting that it is hard to leave! There are places to sit and read or have conversation, both inside and out on the deck, and there is a comfy couch for watching tv. The loft is very clean, the bed is comfortable, and the kitchen is well-stocked with kitchen-ware for cooking. We would definitely stay here again.

We crossed the Atlantic for a 4 months stay in the States to explore the West Coast. To visit friends and family we were looking for an accommodation in the Portland area for the first 1 1/2 week. Back in The Netherlands we found and booked this property via the internet. What a surprise when we arrived. Based on the info from the web and the communication with Bryant we already had a very positive impression. But actually being here exceeded our expectations. It's just a lovely and beautiful accommodation. It’s spacious, comfortable, well equipped, has a nice atmosphere, great view, at a nice location, near Portland down town. What else to say. We’ve had, despite we were here in the ‘rain season’, a wonderful time. We really feel blessed that we could start our trip from here.

We recently stayed at this rental and it was great! We arrived later at night and the owner came out to greet us and to say hello. He was kind and welcoming. We were very impressed with the rental as it was clean, big, warm and inviting. There was plenty of room, a full kitchen, a nice bathroom with a steam shower and an amazing view. My son had his own room and slept very well as the home and surroundings are very quiet. The master bedroom is cozy with a fireplace and a really comfy bed! You are about 15-20 min away from the downtown area. The owner was kind enough to give us some extra gas since we almost ran out and the closet gas station is no longer in business. Overall, a nice and relaxing time! Thank you!

My family and I had a wonderful vacation and very much enjoyed our stay in your guest house. It could not have been more perfect. We had our grandson stay with us for a few days and it was absolutely perfect due to the fact that you had a high chair, toys, and other things we needed for him and had not prepared for. The only thing we had to provide was our food! The kitchen was fully equiped with everything we needed to make our meals, and our stay very comfortable. Thank you for providing us with such a nice "home away from home". I would also like to mention that the view of Portland and the city lights was fantastic!!

We loved our stay here. The kids had tons of fun on the play structure and walking around the gated-in pond. The house was very spacious and well equipped. Owners were very hospitable. We will return! Couple things people may want to know: 1. Must go up many steps to get into the house. 2. There is only a half fridge in the unit and no freezer - but a full size fridge/freezer is available in the laundry out back. 3. Access to the property is up long winding mountain roads. None of these things posed a problem for us, but I thought this info might help someone else. The house was really fantastic to stay in and the grounds are so relaxing and beautiful. Owners were very kind to our kids, as were the dogs! Love the well-stocked toy shelves in the bedroom.

We had the pleasure to stay in this vacation rental for a week this summer (2010) while visiting our son in Portland. The house is spacious, clean, and has a fully equipped kitchen. We immediately felt comfortable and would have enjoyed staying for a bit longer . The guest house is located outside Portland right next to Forrest Park, which offers easy trails of any length and where you might take a walk and kick back. The property is quiet and peaceful and the owner's two friendly Swiss mountain dogs greet you when you come back from a day trip. The patio is a nice extra where you might have breakfast, rest or read. If you are visiting Portland and don't need walking distance to bustling Portland neighborhoods, this vacation rental is an excellent choice.

We loved the loft apartment with wonderful nature surrounding, making it quite a bit seclusive and romantic. It has everything we needed. Owners helped us via emails/phone call when we got little lost (Mapquest didn't do its job properly, be forewarned!) and we appreciated them helping us at a late hour. A drive to downtown Portland was relatively short and convenient. We saw the chickens, to our delights as we don't often seen them running around in the backyard (this is not a farm, just a private residential home). Their dogs were friendly. We'd be coming back in the near future for sure!

Our stay at the loft in Forest Park was the highlight of our four-day trip to Portland, and we have shared our experience with several friends. Originally, my picture of us in the city was eating out a lot, visiting popular sites, and hopping around. My wife was so comfortable at the loft - the peaceful. quiet surroundings - that we changed our plans. Yes, we did the city thing, somewhat, but we spent most of our time at home, invited friends up to share the space with us, hung out and relaxed. It was a great mini-vacation! So thank you Family Santos...we'll be back.

What beautiful accomodations. Not only was the loft great and had everything we could possibly need, the grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed a tour of the gardens with Bryant and Devon. We enjoyed the view of the city lights, the beautiful setting and the friendly dogs, horses and mule. Our hosts are a wonderful family and truly make you feel comfortable. It was a great place to host my Granddaughters High School graduation party . My young granddaughter who accompanied us on our long trip commented it was the best part of her vacation. She is an animal lover and soon made friends with the dogs and horses. She enjoyed playing with Devon and chatting with our hosts. I will return to Portland on my next trip and hopefully, I will be able to stay in the loft again. It was very clean, the listing describes the loft accurately and the pictures did reflect the rental's appareance. One needs to see the property for themselves to truly understand what a wonderful place it is. It is a well kept secret. Thanks for everything. Jo Ann, Jeff & Lindsey

We came to Portland to spend some time with a couple of our kids and our grandkids who live there. We couldn't have picked a more perfect place to stay! When we were alone together we enjoyed the romance of the fireplace in the bedroom with the twinkling city lights and stars out the window. Then we had the 4 grandkids and one son overnight. Again, perfect. The children played on the play structure (we sat on the deck and watched them below), we went for a walk in the beautiful neighborhood and enjoyed the dogs. We watched movies, made meals and visited. It couldn't have been more comfortable or lovely. We didn't take advantage of the hot tub but we plan to stay there again on our next visit we will bring swimsuits! The Santos' provided a goodie basket with wine and other yummies along with directions to local stores etc. A thoughtful addition. Thank you!

This is a great alternative to a motel stay. A beautiful location, too! Very easy access to downtown Portland and western regions, which is where we spent most of our time touring. The master bedroom is great - very roomy and romantic. The kid's rooms are a bit small for adults, but there were no complaints from our group. Clean and quiet. We hope to be back again someday.
