We stayed at Bella Vista the last week of June and enjoyed our stay. We echo the comments by previous visitors re: the adventurous road to get to/from the location and the fabulous view and deck to enjoy the lovely scenery. The cabin is clean and cozy with charming decor, and it was very nice to have a modern kitchen (and gas grill outside) to be able to do any manner of cooking. The mosquitos were out in full force when we were there (the owners supplied a can of OFF insect repellent), and you may want to "arm" yourself with any other insect repellent products to be able to fully enjoy the outdoor space, if you also visit during "mosquito season." The only thing lacking is any storage for clothing (that we could see), so just be prepared to live out of your suitcase or use the futon as a clothes rack if you'd like to fully unpack while there. We appreciated having a quiet retreat at the end of long days exploring the park among the crowds, and found the owners to be helpful and responsive to work with. We would recommend Bella Vista overall.

We had a blast the house was clean the area was beautiful no matter what direction you looked I could not believe the scenery we spotted a moose right behind the house it was a trip of a life time. We were there at the end of may and we got 10 inches of snow. We had 2 boys age 12 they are still talking about the trip. We plan on going back and we know where we will be staying. Thank you Pam and John

Pam and John, This is charming cabin in the trees. Very cozy, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The cabin is a tribute to you and your caretakers. had good fishing on the Madison and superb fly fishing on Hebgen-large brown and rainbow trout were caught there. We saw wild life outside-marmot and white tailed deer and two fawns. Of course we visited Yellowstone which is always a delight. West Yellowstone is lovely to visit and Bob Jacklins fly shop is a must for any fly fisher, a wealth of information and Bob is a great guy prepared to share his area knowledge and fishing experience. We also enjoyed barbecues on the patio after a day of fishing and exploring. We also enjoyed star-gazing on the deck. Thanks to you both for a wonderful stay. UK

The cabin has been a great place to stay. Very quiet and a comfortable bed at the end of long days of hiking and exploring. I almost had a stroke the first day when our luxury sedan hit a pothole. We rented a 4x4 the next day and our problem was solved. David If you are a flatlander like us, don't let the road deter you. This is a beautifully maintained, spotlessly clean little cabin. It is exceptionally well equipped with a beautiful view of the valley and is quiet and peaceful. We did not see a bear near the cabin (which frankly is OK by me) but we did see a mule deer with her two mostly grown fawns. And when we left really early one morning to get to the Tetons to catch early light on the aspens, we saw something I have never seen outside of a book--a pair of pine martins busy at whatever it is that two little weasels do at 4:45 pm. This little cabin is so conveniently located for both Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton. Our wildlife viewing experiences have been a pure delight--bison and elk, wolves, at least on grizzly, to black bears and 7 moose. And otters in the Madison River, bighorn sheep at the Roosevelt gate area, Rocky Mt goats high up on Barenette Peak, some strange looking little ferret creature in the Tetons and a bald coyote who posed for pictures in Hayden Valley. Thank you Pam for sharing this wonderful little retreat. I would recommend it to anyone interested in a secluded get away and an oh so welcome change from generic mold stays. Carol, Arizona

What a great trip. The weather was spectacular all week almost hitting record highs. The scenery in the parks was beautiful and the animals were so cooperative while we took hundreds of pictures and videos. The cabin is so cute and "homey" It was wonderful to sit on the deck with a glass of wine at the end of the day or look at the beautiful scenery both in front and behind the cabin. The best meals we had all week were here! Thanks, Pam, for helping us get up the road the first night after missing our turn and going way further up than we needed. I definitely recommend the lower road. South Carolina

Thank you for sharing your cabin. Your cabin is very quiet, clean and cozy. We had a wonderful time here at the cabin and in Yellowstone. We hope to be back soon. Three nights was just not enough time to see everything.

We stayed 3 nights in this cabin. Our stay was nice and pleasant. The photos advertized on this listing are exactly what you can expect. Although there is a another cabin about 100 feet down the hill next to this cabin. It’s hidden in the photos of the patio view. Upon arriving we were greeted with a laundry basket of used towels and bedding and a trash bag full of trash. It was not a nice way to be greeted at the cabin. I could not find anywhere to store this stuff and it was disgusting. But the owner came by about 2 hours later to pick the stuff up. All was better after that. This cabin is quiet and clean, although the bedding is old and worn and needs replacing. The cabin has a great view, but we couldn’t see the lake because of the large pine trees in the way of the view. The view on the road coming down from the cabin is awesome. Be advised, the road going to and from the cabin is very rough, but doable in a small car. The road was wet for us with several muddy puddles, we were worried about getting stuck in the mud. The cabin could use some pest control for ants and spiders, but then again you are in the woods! This listing says that the cleaning fee is $40, but we paid $50. I would stay in this cabin again if in the area. The price is good, the cabin is clean and you feel secluded in the woods.
Owner response:As you can see, our precious guests were greeted by pillow cases of dirty sheets and towels. We do not penialize our guests for arriving late or on time but we do hope they understand if we are running a little behind due to the guests that just left. This is explained on all booking agreements. Any type of maintainance concerns must also be addressed as soon as noticed. The first time we knew of any minor problems was when this e mail was received. What a surprise. Our housekeepers are most wonderful and very timely and clean conscious. This is a great cabin experience in the mountains. A little spider seen is so much better than the infestation of "bed bugs" in NEW YORK CITY. Let us count our blessisngs for little things. At no time were John and Pam contacted concerning any problems. We are so happy that our guests really enjoyed themselves and would return to have more fun.

The cabin is a perfect spot to come to after spending the entire days in Yellowstone. We had wonderful experience seeing all kinds of wild life in the park. We saw, bear, wolf, elk deer and the most exciting seeing an entire herd of buffalo chare down from the hills and cross the road. Traffic was backed up for miles. Thank you for the wonderful memories. This place will always be a part of them.

Thank you for a wonderful secluded getaway. We have enjoyed getting away from it all. Highlights: a 5 lb lake trout caught at (it hailed) Yellowstone Lake (on leadcore line, 2 colors out) a bison crossing the road directly in fron of our car and charging a car that tried to go around it; bull elk 12 and 16 point; there has been an antelope that has hung around in view from the deck; horse back riding with bison at Roosevelt Lodge--Bella Vista is cheaper and better; all the geysers. Blessings

We didn't see any bears here, but got a good look at a grizzly with her three cubs in YNP. Good enough. Enjoyed our stay in the high country and coming home to La Bella Vista at night. We were very thankful to have a cozy cabin during the rainy, stormy night with multiple hail storms. Very nice waking up to the birds. Also, grilling and eating bison burgers on the deck was heavenly. This was the perfect base camp for our adventures.

We really enjoyed staying in the cabin while we spent eleven exciting days exploring Yellowstone. It was nice to come "home" to a complete kitchen with full size refrigerator at the end of the day. The cabin was so neat and greshly painted. The only thing I would add would be something to store clothes in for guests with longer itineraries. Grilling on the deck added to the experience. This was really an exciting vacation for Sean. Hopefully we will be able to return one day.

This is such a cute cabin! It is well equipped and comfortably accommodated the two of us. The facilities are modern and spotless. We were able to explore Yellowstone NP knowing we were returning each night to a peaceful, warm and happy place. It became home to us and we were sad to leave. Way better than any hotel or motel!

Our trip to Yellowstone was planned very last minute. Your "precious" cabin really appealed to us when we did our internet search for non hotel/motel accomodations and has more than lived up to expectations. You have created a really restful place which allowed us to explore Yellowstone NP and area but be able to come to a "home" each night. Darrell is a fisherman who grew up on stories of the Madison and Snake Rivers, so seeing them has been a dream come true (a visit to Innis and its area is really good, and the Innis Cafe and its burgurs and its legendary strawberry pie are recommended.) We also recommend visiting Grand Teton by driving south to Ashton via the Scenic Byway to the Upper Mesa Falls and eventually Jackson. Enter Grand Teton at Jackson, drive north via Jenny Lake and back to Yellowstone NP. Its a long day but well worth it. Other things enjoyed" Henry's Fork, the color changes in the leaves during our week, the cabin shower, and comfort and conveniences. There was no time to fish. We'll be back.

Your cabin is just PERFECT! We loved the adventure getting up here and the view is worth it. Hearing the cows all night was so peacefuland the stars are amazing. The cabin was so warm and cozy and not having a TV was a great way to complete the peacefulexperience. There is nothing we would change. The location is close enough to Yellowstone but far enough from reality! We just LOVED our experience here and will let everyone know what a treasure La Bella Vista is. Thank you so much!!

Thanks so much for letting us stay in your wonderfullittle cabin. Your hospitality and great location surpassed all our expectations. While in the area we got a chance to fully explore Yellowstone and get close to some rare and beautifulanimals and lanscapes. Among our favorites were the Geyser Basins, Mud Pots and vocanos, Moose Falls hike, and numerous elk, bison, birds, chipmunks and rarer bears and eagles. We look forward to visiting again and maybe we'lleven run into each other in IHB or Melbourne High. Thanks again for everything--including the wonderful cobbler and rice.

Bella Vista has charmed us right from the bottom of the hill with Pam's personalguidance to the door. There is charm and peace of spirit to be found on every wall and out the windows. Cool, wet June has given longer life to the wildflowers and green to the meadows. Wish we had longer to do and see more here but we'll remember it fondly. thanks for having "a room at yourinn just wehn we most needed it. Much success to you!

My husband and I had a great time going through Yellowstone NP for two days of our stay. One day we tried fishing Henry's Lake and got skunked. Then we tried Hebgen Lake and we got an 18" Rainbow and a 16" Brown trout. Theen we tried our luck at Cliff Lake and we both caught our limit, 5 each 10 total. The cabin has been warm and cozy and a great base camp. What a lovely place and an awesome view. It was really nice and quiet.

Our little family sent 3 quiet nights here at the Bella Vista. The cabin was our base camp for adventures in Yellowstone NP. it was a wonderful place to come to after the crowds and hustle and bustle of the park. Each day felt so nice to "come home" to the cabin to enjoy the view, listen to the birds and unwind in comfort. The surrounding mountains are just beautiful and we had an opportunity to see stars last night since there were no clouds--what an amazing sight! While visiting here in the cabin we've seen deer and grouse and visited with the little chipmunk that likes to hang out in the grill. We had a wonderful time. Thank you for your hospitality.
