Angler's Reef and Michael are fantastic! From the moment we booked our trip via Homeaway the communication with Michael has been outstanding. Any questions, concerns, etc. regarding any aspect of our trip were addressed with a thorough and timely response. The condo is well appointed and kept in great shape. Truly a fully stocked home: bath towels, linens, pool towels, laundry, kitchen, etc. makes for an easy, enjoyable stay. The grounds of the Angler’s Reef community are very nicely maintained with great landscaping and neatly kept. The centrally located pool is a great place to lounge away the day soaking in some of that fantastic Florida Key’s sun. The marina and beach area offer a lot to do as well. Opportunities to fish right from the private docks, paddle boards and kayaks on the beach are just some of the things to do. As a family of four, we couldn’t have asked for a better location or accommodations. We highly recommend this Angler’s Reef condo and its owner, Michael! Book it today….you won’t be sorry!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We spent 4 wonderful nights here for a family fishing trip with our 19 and 21 year old sons. The location was perfect. There are many fabulous restaurants just minutes away and it was close to all of our fishing locations. We would absolutely stay there again. It was spotless, very comfortable and very spacious. The listing was accurate and the owner was extremely responsive. Highly recommend!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I would highly recommend this location as it is close to everything you will need. The house was VERY well maintained, well stocked, and provided great surroundings. The neighbors, pool, and boat slips were top notch. Could very easily get to Key Largo as well as a day trip to Key West. Would love to come back! We had a wonderful stay here at Angler's Reef. The owner was very friendly and very accommodating. The house is absolutely gorgeous and very well taken care of. We spent every afternoon at the pool or fishing off the beach or dock, and loved how peaceful and quiet the community was, and how friendly the neighbors all were. True, there wasn't much nearby within walking distance, but with a full kitchen and the ability to cook for ourselves, there wasn't much need to venture out, outside of the occasional dinner out or exploring the rest of the Keys, which you would have to do by car anyway. We truly wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely come back again on our next trip to Florida!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

This is a great place to vacation for a family. The house is beautiful, comfortable, and had all we needed. The pool is heated and located conveniently just few seconds from the house, but not too close so we weren't disturbed by noise. It was our first time in Florida Keys and we wanted to visit several keys till Key West as well as the Everglades Park. Islamorada is great to do both, we're so glad we chose this place. The owner was helpful, reactive in answering our numerous questions. We highly recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Islamorada.Did you find this review helpful? This was our second trip to Islamarada since last summer and both trips we rented in Anglers ... This was a great house for myself and my two boys! It was very clean, we had beach access, boat dock access and access to the pool. Most importantly it felt very safe. When we go back we will book again!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The home is well laid out and well maintained, perfect size for a family of 4. Very nice swimming pool, though some of the users of the pool were older and not sensitive to children being present around them and needing to curb their language. Other residents were pleasant. Clean neighborhood, though its an adult community and so very few if any other kids around. Has washer and dryers, which is helpful. Nice size kitchen. Owner is very pleasant to work with and laid back, concerned that we should have what we need. The only criticism would be that the decks need restaining and it would be nice to have a little kayak to paddle around in the bay just outside the complex, it probably would not be too expensive and would be a very nice little addition.Owner response: Thank you for the compliments! Anglers Reef is a beautiful little Oceanside community and we always look for ways to improve and maintain its appearance. Everyone will enjoy the fresh, newly stained deck too. A lot of people have remarked on the new outdoor furniture as well.

This is a very pretty place in a nice complex. Very "Key's-y" environment. There are nice furnishings throughout. The pool area is very pretty, although no drinks are allowed. Having a washer/dryer is great. The cons: there is no dining table, just a bar with stools; there isn't much within walking distance, unlike Upper Matecumbe Key; the beach area is basically undeveloped, receives no care (raking, etc.), and has no chickee huts or chairs available; the second bedroom doesn't really have a dresser for clothes; the residents were cordial, but not very friendly and the 3:00 a.m. domestic squabbles across the street on the front side got old real quick. Michael was a very pleasant host, although my security deposit back was a week late being returned. We had a nice time, but I don't think we'll be returning to Angler's Reef.Owner response: Thanks to great suggestions Anglers Reef has made some good changes. The beach area has new furniture and is very nice now. Drinks are allowed by the pool too (just no glass please). We are using Homeaway's damage protection policy now so no security deposit worries either. There is even a dining table! Thanks again.

My family and I rented this property for a week in June. We had a great time--the home is new and very clean and well maintained. The owner was very easy to work with; from the time of rental to suggestions on where to visit and eat. We have a young child who sleeps in a crib. There is not a crib in the house but when I asked the owner where I could rent or buy one, he offered to pay half the cost. I thought that was a very generous offer. The house was close to the pool and far enough from the road that it was quiet. The landscaping was also well maintained. I would recommend this property to anyone interested in staying in the Keys.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

I would highly recommend this house for a vacation. We stayed here for my son's spring break in April 2009. The house is very new, clean and nicely furnished. Angler's Reef is right over the bridge on Windley Key and right off of US 1. We flew into Miami and rented a car and it took us about 1 1/2 hours to drive down. Angler's organized into a semicircle of three rows of homes and this one is in the second row. That blocked most of the trafiic noise from US 1 and was not right next to the pool noise either so it was just about perfect. The house itself was also only about 100 ft from the pool so it was very convenient. Angler's Reef is very close Theater of the Seas and we took our son to the dolphin encounter, which he loved. If you plan to do this, make sure you call in advance to make reservations as they book up quickly. We also went fishing with Capt Mark Johnson (FloridaKeysFunFishing). He's very kid friendly and both my husband and my son loved him. Hog Heaven is right over the bridge on Windley Key before you get to Angler's Reef and although it looks a little "divey" it is a great place with outdoor seating right on the water and a dock and sandy beach to boot. My son fed the snapper chicken fingers at the every night. Bands were really good and not too loud, food was reasonable, drinks were cheap so we ate here several nights. Tower of Pizza is about a mile or tow away and although it too was not quite upscale (a local sent us there), it was undoubtable some of the best pizza we've ever had. We also had dinner at Morada Bay one night. The chairs are in the sand and it's a really unique, nice atmosphere but you do pay for it. Dinner and drinks for two adults and one child were $200..ouch... Robbie's Marina is a couple of mile further on down and feeding the tarpon (and pelicans) is really cool at their dock. Last but not least, we did a day trip to Key West. It takes about an hour and 1/2 from Angler's to get there but was lots of fun and a nice day. Kids love the conch train and glass bottom boat.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

Every now and then, you find a vacation rental that exceeds your expectations. This beautiful, comfortable, well-furnished property in a unique (and surprisingly quiet) Florida Keys development provided a wonderful, private escape, along with an excellent location to access activities. The balconies off each bedroom are a nice touch. We love to cook and the kitchen was nicely equipped...and open to the living area. The oceanside pool was relaxing. The beaches were small (and not fully accessible while we were there), but nice. The owner was easy to deal with. All-in-all, a wonderful experience. Would go back without hesitation.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
