We stayed at the house for a long weekend - 6 adults and 1 toddler. The location was excellent, a very short easy drive into Charleston over the bridge, and many restaurants and grocery stores less than a mile away - Mt. Pleasant is a really nice area by itself let alone as a suburb of Charleston. The house was very clean and the pictures were very accurate as a description. It is an older home and that is apparent in the bathrooms, but it is well maintained, beautiful landscaping and very nice neighborhood. We walked down to the park in the neighborhood, which is also older, but in good condition, our son enjoyed it. We ate at the Coleman Public House nearby and got pizza from Andolini's, both were great - Andolini's also does gluten free pizza. We really enjoyed our stay, our only challenge was keeping our curious toddler from pulling down/playing with all the knick knacks and decor around the home, since there was quite a bit, but that would be our challenge anywhere we stayed!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks for discussing the house location and some of the many great nearby restaurants!

This house was well presented, comfortable and ideally located for our purposes. I struggle to pick faults other than maybe the hot water service which ran out of hot water before the fourth member of my family hit the shower. We had an enjoyable holiday (from Australia) and will look to book this house again next time we come back to Charleston to visit friends.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We love & appreciate repeat guests & have them come back often!

We stayed in this home for a weekend and could not have been happier. It was clean, comfortable, and was well-stocked for our family with 3 young boys. The location was perfect - just a few minutes drive from downtown and the beach. The spacious yard and flat, paved driveway was a great place for our older boys to play while the baby napped. We will definitely stay here again!Owner response: It's a question we get asked almost daily: "How far is the house to the Charleston downtown Historic District or to the Beaches?" Thanks for confirming this to future guests!

We stayed the weekend at this house for a wedding on Daniel Island. It was the perfect location for the wedding and for doing some quick sightseeing of downtown Charleston. It's located in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. The big back yard and close proximity to the Shem Creek playground area was perfect for our energetic 19-month old. Three great grocery stores are in close proximity (Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Harris Teeter), which was also an added bonus. The only minor complaints would be that the hot water ran out very quickly and that there was not any foil, plastic wrap, zip-lock bags, etc. for covering leftovers. However, we would definitely consider a repeat stay here. Leslie is also wonderful to work with and was very prompt in returning phone calls and emails.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: We appreciate guests letting future guests know what to ask to bring before they arrive! Thanks for that!

Coming from Florida we had lots of questions for our rental property manager. She was prompt with answers and never stretched the truth....What she said was what we got....When we arrived we were happy to see the home exactly as described.....In fact, it was better than what we expected.....The kitchen was big enough for us to do a complete Thanksgiving dinner (turkey, ham, etc.) The large diningroom table was ideal for our four adults and teenage daughter. Well stocked kitchen. Master bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Outside screened patio was a pure delight both day and chilly nights. We brought our own fire pit for roasting marshmallows. There was no gas or charcoal grill. Shopping and restaurants close by. Our favorite was TRADER JOE'S grocery (with great wine assortment & excellent prices). We are already planning on spending next Thanksgiving either at this home or another similar one. Charleston downtown shopping was a wonderful experience.....Everybody was helpful and friendly. The 90 minute walking ghost tour is a don't miss. Our guide lady REBEL was a wealth of information. Can't think of any negatives other than next time we may bring different family or friends with us.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: So glad to hear people talking about how great of a place this is to spend the Holiday's!!! We always look forward to welcoming repeat guests too!

We were three female teacher friends getting together for a birthday celebration/reunion, as we do every ten years or so. Here are the pros and cons that we found in our four-day stay: PROS The price is extremely reasonable for a house of this size. It is a bargain. The rental agent communicated promptly during the process of securing the property. As noted by other reviewers, this is a house used by the owner, so her belongings are in evidence, but not obnoxiously so. The location is ideal - good markets are nearby, and it’s just a few minutes to get to downtown Charleston or the beach areas. It’s a spacious and attractive home, with several areas for people to congregate comfortably. We had more than enough room. Most rooms are nicely decorated with plenty of light; some are a bit dark. The backyard is very large, if there’s a need for that. The beds were fine; the master bed is medium, the “red” bed is quite hard, the “green” bed is soft. Pillows are fiberfill. Good showers. The modern master bath has plenty of counter and storage space; the second bathroom is quite small (older pink tile) with a pedestal sink and no counters. Both are interior bathrooms without windows. Parking access is excellent - just a few steps from the back door. CONS - and these may not be deal-breakers for other renters, but they were annoyances for us, as we had looked forward to using the jacuzzi tub, watching movies together, and cooking meals. The jacuzzi tub is essentially unusable. The water pressure is so low that by the time the tub is even half-filled, the water is tepid. We gave up on the DVD and CD players. We brought reliable discs; the players skipped. It was somewhat frustrating to cook in the kitchen. The corkscrew was broken and there was no vegetable peeler. There were no Tupperware-type containers, zip-lock bags, plastic wrap, or foil to cover leftovers. It was difficult or impossible to open windows in the bedrooms for fresh air, though the master has a ceiling fan. The house had a slight smell of mildew, as do many houses in tropical climates. It wasn't that much of a problem for us but could be a problem for someone more sensitive. The toilet in the small bathroom was always running. We contacted the agent right away, but she told us that it couldn’t be fixed until after we left. --- We’ve rented many houses and would grade this about a C+ or B-. Hope this is useful.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for all reviews; we take them very seriously! We were not previously aware of the plumbing issues & they have since then been taken care of. This house is mainly for very short-term renters by the night or by the weekend so most guests don't have left-over's to be dealt with. This house is equipped with many basic kitchen items which are addressed from other past reviews. Future guests are welcome to either ask about specific items in advance before arrival or bring with them when they come. Thanks again for all reviews!

I was looking for a place to accommodate myself and a friend as well as her sister and brother-in-law whose daughter was getting married on the Isle of Palms. After checking out hotels, I thought we would be more comfortable renting a house. We are so happy we made that decision as this was the perfect place for us. The married couple took the room with the king size bed and my friend and I each had our own room and shared the guest bathroom. The beds were comfy and there was plenty of room for us to "spread" out. The pictures you see are exactly how the house looks. The decorations which appear to come from all over the world are lovely. The weather was hot and humid, but thanks to the good air conditioning system, it was comfortable inside the house. The kitchen was conveniently laid out so that we never got in each other's way when putting a meal together. The fridge was large and there is loads of cabinet space and all the dishes you would ever need. We loved the sunken room off the kitchen that contained a table and 4 chairs where we ate our meals (although there is a formal dining area). This is where the washer and dryer are located behind folding doors. The property location was excellent with nany stores and restaurants nearby. There were so many choices. Could not have been any better. Two small things we noticed upon arrival that could be improved on : 1. We had to kind of put the owner's things aside to make room for our things. 2. The dishes and tableware could be a little better organized. But all in all, we loved this house and found it to be everything we needed and more. It's a great place to stay and we'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. Thank you Leslie!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Approximately 75% of our guests are coming to attend a wedding in the Charleston area so you can see its perfect for that. Please keep in mind that we give a discount for repeat guests!!!!

Several friends and I traveled to Charleston for a wedding and found this home in Mt. Pleasant when searching for a rental. The home was perfect for our group as it was a short drive into downtown Charleston and located near the beach and great restaurants in Mt. Pleasant. The back deck was perfect relaxing outside in the evening when we didn't want to go out. The owner was also extremely helpful, polite and professional throughout the booking process. We'd all recommend this home to anyone looking to be near everything Charleston has to offer!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Located close to everything in the Charleston area! Thanks again!!

A great location in a quiet neighborhood. Easy access to the beach and local shopping. Has very nice backyard w plenty of room. Inside has lovely furnishings. Actually it's the best, most well stocked vaca home we've ever stayed in. Kitchen supplies were up-scale. Broker was very professional and easy to work with! Great neighborhood for taking a walk, bike ride or run. Only downside: could use a good scrubbing on the outside of the house. Suggestions to bring: Lawn chairs, charcoal, bug spray. Places to eat: Go to Shem Creek 3 min. away: We ate at Vickery's, Rode the Thriller boat ride tour, and bought fresh seafood at Mt. Pleasant Seafood shop. All right next to each other. Easy to get to downtown Charleston and all the beaches.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Excellent suggestions regarding what to bring and great places to eat and see!

We could not have asked for a better vacation home. This property was everything promised and more. When we return to Charleston we will certainly stay here again if the property is available. All of our anxieties were calmed when we saw the house. The house was so fully equipped we had no need for shopping for anything additional....kitchen appliances, dishes, cooking utensils, towels, linens and more. The cleanliness exceeded expectation. Definitely a five star accomodation!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: A small date change with this review; actually the renters meant to say May of 2011 (not 2010). We love "return" guests by the way!

My family and I gathered last weekend to celebrate my daughter's graduation. We decided on this property because it was close to the College of Charleston, but in a nice quiet neighborhood. The house was even better than described on the website. We particularly enjoyed the various dens and living rooms and especially the outside deck. We enjoyed a couple of fabulous restaurant meals (without even leaving the Mt Pleasant area). I would highly recommend the Boulevard Diner and especially the Red Drum Gastropub. Plus there are several grocery stores within a mile or two if you chose to cook in the well-stocked kitchen. And a special thanks to our hostess Leslie who was extremely professional in the transactions, provided much helpful information, and went above and beyond in arranging for the return of a "left-behind" item, while all the time respecting our privacy. I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the Charleston area or the nearby beaches.Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Our family rented this house for 5 days in May 2009. We enjoyed our stay here so much that we'd like to book it again for our next trip to South Carolina. It was true to the photos and very clean with pretty decor. It was also spacious enough to accomodate our family of 5 (including three restless children who found plenty of room to play.) It's located on a quiet street and has a private back yard. We found that it was in a good central location and it didn't take us long to visit our friend's home in Charleston, get to the beach on Isle of Palms, or visit downtown Charleston.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
