  We stayed here from 7/6/10 - 7/11/10 - during the Crisis in the Gulf. There was no crisis in Orange Beach. We had a little oil on the beach one day but it was quickly cleaned. There was no smell! We swam in the Gulf and in the pools - no problems (and none of us grew a second head or anything). The condo unit itself was BEAUTIFUL! The beds are very comfortable. There is a bathroom in each bedroom and another one in the hall. The balcony is huge with a table, 4 chairs and a lounge chair. The kitchen is well equiped and large. The icemaker in the bar was a huge plus! We went through a lot of ice. Our group consisted of 8 people ranging in age from 2 years to 75 years and not one of us had a single complaint - except that we had to leave eventually. The owners were very pleasant and easy to deal with. The facility is great. The lazy river pool - the most relaxing time I have ever spent in the water. Wireless internet access was a big plus because I needed to work a bit. Not much phone service in the building but that was okay too. Texting was fine. Master bedroom has a double head shower and a jacuzzi tub. Shower in the hall bath and shower/tub in the other two. The photos do not actually do justice to this place. Because of the media coverage proclaiming doom and gloom, the restaurants and the beaches are not crowded. This is a great time to vacation on the coast. If by some chance there is a little oil on the beach, it will be cleaned immediately. After having spent my vacations on the coast all of my life, I can testify that the little oil we dealt with one day wasn't any worse than the seaweed that is always an issue in the Gulf. We could not have had a better time. We will definitely be returning to this place - soon!

  I am sitting at the desk of #1803 writing this review on day 2 of our stay. I would highly recommend this condo and hope to stay here again ourselves! My husband and I stayed here with 4 kids and had room to spare. It is so roomy and comfortable that we never want to leave :) The beds are comfy, furnishings are tasteful, kitchen is so well equipped that I felt right at home. The master bedroom is amazing and we enjoyed the garden jacuzzi tub in the master bath, as well as the double headed shower. Two beds in one of the guest rooms made it possible for the older kids to share a room, yet have their own bed. I was amazed at how quiet the condo was - if the kids were in their rooms, we didn't hear them. We never heard any noise from any other condo. The owner was terrific to work with, even on short notice. He made booking and check-in a breeze. Condo was very clean (I am picky about cleanliness!) with plenty of towels, washrags, etc. There were even some coffee filters and paper plates in the cabinets, which came in handy our first day before we made it out to the store. The washer/dryer in the 4th bathroom make it extremely easy to dry all those beach towels at the end of each day. The beach was just beautiful! We have stayed at many other Phoenix properties and this is BY FAR the best one. The kids saw dolphins off the balcony the very first day! We really enjoyed the short boardwalk from the pool area to the beach. It made it easy to pop out there for a short while, then come back up to the pool and relax. The older kids loved the lazy river and the proximity to the beach. The younger ones like the zero entry pool and I enjoyed the indoor hot tubs where I could watch the kids swim in the indoor pool. I can't say enough good things about unit #1803 and its owners. This will definitely be our first choice for future vacation stays!

  Our family had a wonderful vacation. The Phoenix west is an awesome place and this condo is very nice, and decorated professionally. The view from the 18th floor was amazing. This condo was also kid friendly and the pools and lazy river are wonderful. We will definitely stay here again next year.

  This is a beautiful unit. Plenty of room and beautiful furnishings. Great that it has 4 full bathrooms!. Great for large families. Had a wonderful time and we will definetly be back and highly recommend this unit!!

  We just got back from our trip. The condo building and facilities is amazing!!! With small children, there was always plenty to do and keep them busy with easy access to the beach, water slike, lazy river, baby pool and zero entry pool. There was security walking the grounds so we always felt that our kids and our belongings were safe. This unit is on the 18th floor which we loved. There wasn't pool noise and we had the greatest view of the ocean and beach. The size was very appropiate for two families too! However, we use VRBO for every vacation we book and I do have to say that the unit itself is rated at the bottom. It was not clean and in some areas, disgustingly filthy. I don't think it has been vaccuumed under the beds or furniture for some time. Light bulbs were missing, batteries missing, DVD broken, and a chair broken. And unlike the other places we have stayed, there was very minmial stuff to get you started for your trip. Overall it was a nice unit but it definitely needs a great scrubbing and some maintenance issues addressed. The owner did send out the cleaning service again but a wet swiffer isn't cutting it on the tile floor. At least it got vaccummed! Orange Beach was fantastic and the restaurants are so family friendly. We did have to wait a long time for the restaurants but at least the kids were entertained. We'd definitely recommend Orange Beach Phoenix West to friends.

  What an awesome week at the beach- the condo is PERFECT!! Everything was so convenient- from the easy parking and elevators to the upper floors, the huge bedrooms and bathrooms, the washer and dryer (Yeah to take home clean clothes!), the kitchen had everything needed to make simple lunches to gourmet meals- but best of all was the amazing view of the ocean that we woke up to and went to bed at night with...it was PRICELESS!! It was amazing to be able to take the elevator downstairs and hit the pool, or beach in seconds, and easy to head back up to the condo for a snack or a book. The lazy river was fun for the whole family- and the indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna were nice for the evening if it was too chilly outdoors. The community was great- we loved the restaurants- Lulu's was awesome, The Big Fish was an INCREDIBLE dinner out, and THE TRACK was awesome for mini golf and go carts. There are good grocery stores right across the street from the condo- all the necessities are there. The owners were so easy to work with, and so accommodating - we are now on a first name basis and know that we will be back in the future. The kids were planning what friends to bring for spring break next year on the first day they loved it so much! Awesome for both spring break, summer vacation or escaping the winter blahs. Can't wait to make it back!! Thanks for the southern hospitality!!

  the condo was far below what we expected considering the rent we were paying. We contacted the owner at once and complained about the chipped dishes and lack of pots and pans. We also complained about the nonworking sweeper the dirty carpets, missing placemats, broken dining room chair, and broken dvr player. After several phone calls several ladies came to see what the problem was and said they would be back with to replace some of the items we needed to at least cook a meal. After a week they finally came with a new coffee pot, sweeper, one pot, one skillet set of four dishes, glasses, and took the dvr to be fixed. aAfter another week and call to the owner and also a trip down to the office, we had a new dvr player within an hour, but never did get the chair fixed, light bulbs replaced and carpets cleaned. We will never rent from a VRBO again. I will say that the building itself was very enjoyable and did enjoy the weekly social and met some new friends that had been stayig there since the building opened. We are just sorry that the owner did not see if necessary to address the problems in the condo and we will never rent from him again.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing.

  This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Phoenix West and the third condo we have rented. The unit is lovely, clean and well kept. However, the kitchen is far from stocked with appropriate pots and pans. There was no skillet, one small pot and a very rusty cookie sheet. It is lacking the basics. If you plan to cook at all, better check this out before renting.

  We just got back from Orange Beach yesterday and it was Wonderful!! The condo was beautiful, clean and everything we hoped for and more. No problems at all. Lazy River and pool area were excellent for our kids. They LOVED it! Owners made booking this condo a breeze. I would definitely recommend this property to family and friends.
