Four poster beds, stone fireplace with gas logs, telephone, game room with foosball, air hockey, sound system, wireless internet, several TV's with cable and video games, washer/dryer and spacious kitchen. Kick back in a rocking chair on the screen porch and listen to the beautiful sounds of the mountains.
Location, location, location! 20 minutes to Amicalola Falls. At 729 feet it's the highest waterfall east of the Mississippi and the southern terminus of the Appalachain Trail. 40 minutes to the old mining town of Dahlonega, the home of Georgia's 1829 gold rush. Pan for gold, shop, and have dinner at the famous Smith House. 30 Minutes to Carter's Lake. Beautiful, unspoiled, and Georgia's deepest lake at over 450 feet. 40 Minutes to historic Blue Ridge and a ride on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. This 26 mile train ride in open and closed railway cars winds along the unspoiled Toccoa river nearly all the way to Tennessee. There are literally hundreds of other scenic attractions within an hour's ride.
Of course there is no need to go anywhere unless you really want to. Bent Tree has a beautiful Joe Lee designed 18 hole golf course, driving range, clubhouse, wonderful restaurant (with catering), two pools, indoor and outdoor tennis, trout fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and a beach on 110 acre Lake Tamarack, hiking trails, horseback riding, and even a library. Bent Tree is adjacent to the 24,000 acre Dawson Wildlife Management Area so wildlife, especially deer and wild turkeys are a common sight.
You can enjoy the safety and serenity of Sharptop Mountain Retreat at your own pace and at the end of the day you might want to fire up the grill on the back deck, grab your favorite beverage, and enjoy one of the finest sunsets Georgia has to offer.
