Treat yourself to time in a tranquil vacation retreat that is private and charismatic, yet is close to all the attractions that make the Mount Washington Valley renowned. The home we call the "Gecko Inn" is located at the end of a wooded dead-end street with a two-acre wooded backyard, which makes for a very peaceful setting. The Moat mountains can be seen from the deck and bedrooms as you look across the expansive National forest.

No matter whether your interest is skiing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, golfing, shopping, or just plain relaxing the location of this house is ideally situated. It is three minutes to the spectacular North Conway public golf course, to Echo Lake, and to extensive hiking trails in the National forest, including the beautiful waterfalls and swimming pools of Diana’s Baths. The Saco and Swift Rivers are very close by for water sports.
Awaiting you in North Conway Village, a short seven minutes away, is tax-free, outlet shopping, a plethora of spectacular restaurants, great nightly entertainment, numerous seasonal activities, sightseeing, and good old New Hampshire hospitality. Mount Cranmore ski resort is also within ten minutes. Attitash Bear Peak ski and Alpine water slide is a mere eight miles away and Mount Washington and Wildcat Mountain Ski Resorts are about a 20-minute drive. Thirty minutes to Bretton Woods Ski and 50 minutes to Sunday River.
Family fun and entertainment abounds in the Mount Washington Valley area. Story Land, Santa's Village, the Conway Scenic Railroad, museums, local farms, hay rides, and many other amusements are all within a short drive of the house. Skiers will appreciate the short distances to multiple ski mountains . Stay in North Conway and enjoy the Mount Washington Valley to its fullest in every season!
Inside the spacious contemporary home you will find three floors. The open-plan first floor has a full bathroom, a bedroom with two sets of bunk beds, a fully-equipped kitchen, a six-foot farmer's table and a breakfast bar, and a cathedral ceiling, extensively windowed living room, with fireplace, that opens onto a 300-square-foot deck from which you can enjoy peace and solitude, or have social gatherings.
The second floor has one bedroom with a queen-size bed and view of the Moat mountains, another bedroom also with a queen sized bed, a full bathroom, and a loft area with a single bed and seating space.
The lower, finished, walk-out basement, with very large picture windows, can again be used as additional living space (put the kids down there with the extra TV!) and can sleep three (queen sofabed and single).
Our hot tub is also located outside on the deck in a glass-in sun room. It operates in the winter months only.
The house is perfect for two families to share a vacation.
There is a gazebo in the backyard and a fire pit just outside for those romantic autumnal evenings. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful, with conservation land nearby for hiking and cross-country skiing.
A 50% (non-refundable) deposit is required to confirm your reservation. For weekly or longer reservations the balance due and $250 security deposit four weeks prior to arrival. For weekend or nightly rentals the balance due and $250 security deposit due ten days in advance.
8% New Hampshire room tax is included in all rates.
