A truly central White Mountain location!

Treat yourself to time in a tranquil vacation retreat that is private and charismatic, yet is close to all the attractions that make the Mount Washington Valley renowned. The home we call the "Gecko Inn" is located at the end of a wooded dead-end street with a two-acre wooded backyard, which makes for a very peaceful setting. The Moat mountains can be seen from the deck and bedrooms as you look across the expansive National forest.

No matter whether your interest is skiing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, golfing, shopping, or just plain relaxing the location of this house is ideally situated. It is three minutes to the spectacular North Conway public golf course, to Echo Lake, and to extensive hiking trails in the National forest, including the beautiful waterfalls and swimming pools of Diana’s Baths. The Saco and Swift Rivers are very close by for water sports.

Awaiting you in North Conway Village, a short seven minutes away, is tax-free, outlet shopping, a plethora of spectacular restaurants, great nightly entertainment, numerous seasonal activities, sightseeing, and good old New Hampshire hospitality. Mount Cranmore ski resort is also within ten minutes. Attitash Bear Peak ski and Alpine water slide is a mere eight miles away and Mount Washington and Wildcat Mountain Ski Resorts are about a 20-minute drive. Thirty minutes to Bretton Woods Ski and 50 minutes to Sunday River.

Family fun and entertainment abounds in the Mount Washington Valley area. Story Land, Santa's Village, the Conway Scenic Railroad, museums, local farms, hay rides, and many other amusements are all within a short drive of the house. Skiers will appreciate the short distances to multiple ski mountains . Stay in North Conway and enjoy the Mount Washington Valley to its fullest in every season!

Inside the spacious contemporary home you will find three floors. The open-plan first floor has a full bathroom, a bedroom with two sets of bunk beds, a fully-equipped kitchen, a six-foot farmer's table and a breakfast bar, and a cathedral ceiling, extensively windowed living room, with fireplace, that opens onto a 300-square-foot deck from which you can enjoy peace and solitude, or have social gatherings.

The second floor has one bedroom with a queen-size bed and view of the Moat mountains, another bedroom also with a queen sized bed, a full bathroom, and a loft area with a single bed and seating space.

The lower, finished with full bath, bedroom with two single beds and a 2nd family room with TV and two queen sofabeds. Walk-out basement can again be used as additional living space (put the kids down there with the 2nd TV!) Our hot tub is located outside on the deck in a glassed-in sun room. We operate it in the winter months only.

If your party is 8 or above adults, and prefer optional sleeping arrangement from the Bunk Room, The full Bathroom and another Bedroom with two single beds available on the lower level for an added cleaning charge of $35.00 for the rental period.

The house is perfect for two families to share a vacation.

There is a gazebo in the backyard and a fire pit just outside for those romantic autumnal evenings. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful, with conservation land nearby for hiking and cross-country skiing.

A 50% (non-refundable) deposit is required to confirm your reservation. For weekly or longer reservations the balance due and $250 security deposit four weeks prior to arrival. For weekend or nightly rentals the balance due and $250 security deposit due ten days in advance.

8% New Hampshire room tax is included in all rates.

Full winter season rental NOT available.

  • We stayed in the gecko house from October 3rd to october 10th, 2009. It was very spacious and met all of our families needs. It is centrally located. I wish it would have more closet space. The house is beautiful with a big kitchen. My entire family enjoyed being in the beautiful gecko house and sit and relax by the fireplace. Mr. Brunelle was very gracious and we would definitely return. Our dog also enjoyed staying at the house. Thanks for making our vacation a pleasant one.

  • My family and I had planned a nice getaway at the Gecko Inn. Unfortunately, circumstances arose which prevented us from taking this vacation. Arthur was able to re-rent the Inn for the week and refunded almost the full amount of our deposit. This was not expected as the deposit was nonrefundable. I really appreciate his decency and kindness and will definitely visit the Gecko Inn on my next trip to New Hampshire.

  • Arthur & Karen thank you so much for sharing your home with us. I met college friends and brought my family to The Geikco Inn for a week of great fun and relaxation. The home had everything we needed to accommodate our group. Full-size crib, toys, hot tub, porch with awning, firepit, gazebo, fully stocked kitchen and the list goes on. The Geicko exceeded my expectations and I would recommend this property to anyone visiting the North Conway area. Thank you again.   • My husband, my sisters and niece and nephew stayed for a long weekend in March 2009. The house was very comfortable, plenty of space for all. Convenient location to ski areas, snowmobiling and shopping. Beautiful sunset from the deck each evening. We all agreed that we had a great family weekend!

  • Twelve of us stayed at the Gecko Inn in December of 2008, and all of us had the same reaction - we loved it. The house has a certain charm about it – the ambience is relaxing and soothing. It was nice to have detailed instructions on how to operate the heat, fireplace, hot tub, etc. The house was extremely clean; the kitchen had all the necessary accommodations – we were able to find everything we needed to cook 3-4 gourmet meals a day. The other positive side was that there were lot of activities within minutes from the house. All twelve of us had a fabulous time – we highly recommend the Gecko Inn if you would like to have a peaceful and tranquil gateway.

  • We just spent an August weekend at the Gecko in. 3 families with small children. The house was so great. Everything we needed was there and it was very child friendly-right down to the crib and closet full of toys! We enjoyed its proximity to Storyland and we were all very comfy. The sleeping arrangements were perfect and we had a house full of people. Spent time grilling and having dinner at night and great breakfasts cooked in the kitchen for all in the mornings. Would def stay there again. Thanks for a great weekend!

  • We had the pleasure of staying in this fabulous house over February vacation 2008. We stayed with another family for a total of 8 people over 10 nights and we found the house to be everything we were looking for! It was clean, well laid out, comfortable, well stocked with dishes, etc. The hot tub was a treat as was the quiet, accessable location. Also, we found it very easy to deal with Arthur and Karen.   • We stayed 4 nights at the Gecko Inn, and enjoyed everything the house and its location had to offer. The house was quite impressive with its roomy, open floor plan yet it felt very cozy, with all of the comforts of home. The deck runs the length of the house, and the retractable canvas canopy made it very versitile -- we could enjoy sitting the sun, but when we wanted to be in the shade, we could pull out the canopy and cool off. The location was the best of both worlds -- so close to town, but quiet and peaceful with spectacular views of the Moat mountains. Everything about our experience surpassed all of our expectations, and dealing with the owners was an absolute pleasure! Looking forward to another stay at the Gecko Inn sometime soon!

  • We stayed at the Gecko in for a quick weekend getaway and had a great time. Everything you could possible need or want is right there and it is beautiful...lit fires both nights and spent some time in the hottub...looking forward to going back this summer.
