We had four couples for our annual getaway winter weekend and found the house delightful. At first we could not find the firewood (buried under snow), but on the third day we glimpsed a tarp and bingo. Hot tub was hot, kitchen well equipped, good spaces for relaxation and there was good skiing to be had in this winter almost without snow. The only disappointment was the Super Bowl ... but maybe not for some people ... Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful time at this family friendly property. Plenty of room for everybody. Centrally located 15" from town, minutes from scenic Cathedral Ledge and Diana's baths. For the skiers, a 10" drive door to door to Attitash and 35" to Bretton Woods. Despite temperatures below zero while we were there (-10° as we speak!) we were toasty warm in the house. The house is immaculate. One always worries that a "dog property" will smell less than fresh but you'd never know a dog ever visited here! Well equipped kitchen and attention to every detail made our stay close to perfect. We had the opportunity to meet the owners when they responded to our cries for help when our technically challenged group had trouble figuring a couple things out; lovely people. If they'll have us back, we'll be back next year to our new home away from home in North Conway.

We had a great experience from start to finish. The Gecko Inn is a comfortable place in the quiet end of a dead end road. We especailly enjoyed the fireplace with a seasoned stack of wood, very nice, large deck and an outside fire and sitting area. Our dealings with Karen and Arthur were easy and very helpful. We really appreciate that our dogs were welcome.

We stayed at the Gecko Inn with multiple family members and it was wonderful. There was plenty of space so we never felt crowded and each family had their own room/area. The house was as described on the web site with plenty of space and very comfortable and clean. The kids especially loved the toy room and seeing all the Geckos. The owners are wonderful to deal with and made the whole rental process easy and stress free. We had a great weekend and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

we had a good size group and we never felt crowded. great location off of west side road. had everything needed to accommodate us. really liked how easy it was to keep the recyclables in order. the owners are very organized in the whole renting process. i just wish the perfect weather to all who do rent like we had.

The Gecko Inn is awesome. It's HUGE! Easily could sleep 10-14. I'm a chef, the kitchen is very comfortable. The oven is definitely out dated and needs to be replaced, but a minor detail that isn't worth complaining about. Anyway, here's what you get. Enclosed hot tub, perfect in the winter! Large finished basement w/foosball table, plenty of bathrooms, two showers. A wood burning fireplace that heats the house up. It's a 15 minute drive to town, no problem. A cab costs $20, no problem. Try not to find it at night, very confusing neighborhood, but the directions are spot on! AND the owners provide self-addressed stamped envelopes for all communication via mail. Don't pay hundreds of dollars a night for a hotel, stay at The Gecko Inn.

My family stayed for 8 days in August 2010. It was everything that was expected of it. Clean comfortable and convienent to the mountains. Quiet neigborhood - no view- and a couple of black bear sightings. Nice porch that can accomadate everyone.

Owner response:There is a view to the Moat mountains. We will top some of the tress next spring to restore the view to what is was when we bought the property.

We had a fantastic weekend staying here with family and friends for a ski weekend. The owner is responsive and accomodating. Great house, great location, great for kids. Our children loved discovering the closet full of toys and the crib was perfect. Just an absolutely wonderful experience and house. Highly recommend staying here

My family and I stayed at the Gecko Inn last weekend (1/14-1/17) for our yearly bonding time. The house was awesome, very clean, warm and cozy. We skied and tubed at Cranmore and did ice skating&sleigh ride at Nestlenook. Pizza at Eastern Slopes Inn was fantastic. Will go back next year for sure. Very professional & well done rental. We stayed at the gecko inn for our annual mother daughter weekend. It was perfect for us. It had a kitchen so we could stay in and eat and watch movies. We really enjoyed our stay. The outlets are very close also.

We stayed at the Gecko House with my family on Thanksgiving weeekend. We found it very spacious and clean. The house was a lot bigger than we had expected. We brought our 2 dogs and found the area very dog friendly. It was a pleasure to deal with Arthur & Karen. I would recommend this place to our friends.

We stayed in the gecko house from October 3rd to october 10th, 2009. It was very spacious and met all of our families needs. It is centrally located. I wish it would have more closet space. The house is beautiful with a big kitchen. My entire family enjoyed being in the beautiful gecko house and sit and relax by the fireplace. Mr. Brunelle was very gracious and we would definitely return. Our dog also enjoyed staying at the house. Thanks for making our vacation a pleasant one.

My family and I had planned a nice getaway at the Gecko Inn. Unfortunately, circumstances arose which prevented us from taking this vacation. Arthur was able to re-rent the Inn for the week and refunded almost the full amount of our deposit. This was not expected as the deposit was nonrefundable. I really appreciate his decency and kindness and will definitely visit the Gecko Inn on my next trip to New Hampshire.

Arthur & Karen thank you so much for sharing your home with us. I met college friends and brought my family to The Geikco Inn for a week of great fun and relaxation. The home had everything we needed to accommodate our group. Full-size crib, toys, hot tub, porch with awning, firepit, gazebo, fully stocked kitchen and the list goes on. The Geicko exceeded my expectations and I would recommend this property to anyone visiting the North Conway area. Thank you again. My husband, my sisters and niece and nephew stayed for a long weekend in March 2009. The house was very comfortable, plenty of space for all. Convenient location to ski areas, snowmobiling and shopping. Beautiful sunset from the deck each evening. We all agreed that we had a great family weekend!

Twelve of us stayed at the Gecko Inn in December of 2008, and all of us had the same reaction - we loved it. The house has a certain charm about it – the ambience is relaxing and soothing. It was nice to have detailed instructions on how to operate the heat, fireplace, hot tub, etc. The house was extremely clean; the kitchen had all the necessary accommodations – we were able to find everything we needed to cook 3-4 gourmet meals a day. The other positive side was that there were lot of activities within minutes from the house. All twelve of us had a fabulous time – we highly recommend the Gecko Inn if you would like to have a peaceful and tranquil gateway.

We just spent an August weekend at the Gecko in. 3 families with small children. The house was so great. Everything we needed was there and it was very child friendly-right down to the crib and closet full of toys! We enjoyed its proximity to Storyland and we were all very comfy. The sleeping arrangements were perfect and we had a house full of people. Spent time grilling and having dinner at night and great breakfasts cooked in the kitchen for all in the mornings. Would def stay there again. Thanks for a great weekend!

We had the pleasure of staying in this fabulous house over February vacation 2008. We stayed with another family for a total of 8 people over 10 nights and we found the house to be everything we were looking for! It was clean, well laid out, comfortable, well stocked with dishes, etc. The hot tub was a treat as was the quiet, accessable location. Also, we found it very easy to deal with Arthur and Karen. We stayed 4 nights at the Gecko Inn, and enjoyed everything the house and its location had to offer. The house was quite impressive with its roomy, open floor plan yet it felt very cozy, with all of the comforts of home. The deck runs the length of the house, and the retractable canvas canopy made it very versitile -- we could enjoy sitting the sun, but when we wanted to be in the shade, we could pull out the canopy and cool off. The location was the best of both worlds -- so close to town, but quiet and peaceful with spectacular views of the Moat mountains. Everything about our experience surpassed all of our expectations, and dealing with the owners was an absolute pleasure! Looking forward to another stay at the Gecko Inn sometime soon!

We have had the pleasure of staying at the "Gecko Inn" for Thanksgiving week. We are repeat renters and love this place soooo much!! We enjoy the beautiful cabin feel and the layout is perfect. The kids have their own room and the adults get their space in the beautiful living room with HUGE fireplace! We can't say enough about the location and privacy. We just spent a week at the Gecko Inn and we had a great time. There was plenty of room, it is very quiet, and it is located close to all of the attractions of North Conway. We spent two days at beautiful Echo Lake (which is only about 2 miles down the road), went to Story Land, went up the Mt. Washington Auto Road, rode the Conway Scenic Railroad, and much, much more. We had a great family vacation and look forward to doing it again next year.

I was born and raised in North Conway and was back for a family reunion. Finding the Gecko Inn was a real treat! It is central to everything (especially the Lobster Trap, as they do not have "real" fried clams in California!) We spent time at Echo Lake, did horseback riding at The Farm and kayaked the Saco. And after every day we were able to go back to the Gecko "home" and relax. We even had one of our family reunion dinners on the deck and it was perfect. I definitely recommend North Conway and the Gecko Inn!

This was our first vacation in the state of NH, and we had such a wonderful week—we were overwhelmed by the beauty of the mountains, and thoroughly loved staying in this house! It was so roomy and comfortable, and had all the amenities. It was central to everything—hiking, shops, swimming, waterfalls, canoeing—with beautiful mountain views. My wife and I have been going to the North Conway area since we were dating (over 9 years). We have stayed at numerous Hotels, Condos, etc. and have found this house and it's location to be superb. The house is extremely well kept, in a great neighborhood, only 9 minutes from the Center of North Conway and within short drives to all major ski areas. There is plenty of bed space to accomodate a large family. Also, the back of the house faces Southwest getting terrific solar heating in the winter and fall months. We will continue to visit the area and stay here whenever possible.
