The listing was accurate and only 1 mile to the first main casino on the strip. Lakeside Inn is in walking distance. 711 too! The pictures did not do justice. The place is spacious and accommodating for 15 people without a problem, with all the amenities. It was very clean and nice to have clean towels on each bed. The owner was more than accommodating....Charles....good guy. Not only will I recommend it to friends and family, but perfect strangers. Good Eating: I recommend the Red Hut Cafe, the original one, burgers are outstanding!! The Hot Tub, Pool Table, Ping Pong Table, Playing Cards with Poker Chips, and Main Living Room with Flat Screen TV keeps you entertained for hours. Thanks again!!!
Owner response:Thanks a lot Bobby! It is very much appreciated, and validates the efforts the Property Management team makes to insure our clients have a great experience in Lake Tahoe. You touched on two of the best features of this (5 BR!) cabin, amenities and location. The place is comfortable and entertaining, and I happen to like the Red Hut as well. Oh, and also the fact the casinos and gondola are so close! Thank You Thank You Thank You !!!

My friends and I just returned from a great stay at this cabin. The size, location, and amenities were perfect for us, and our interactions with the cabin owner and the property management were a pleasure. Highly recommended if you want a place for a good-sized group of people that is close enough to walk to the casinos, but remote enough for a peaceful setting. We definitely hope to come back!

I have been to Lake Tahoe a number of times and this is the best property I have rented. The price is great for the amount of space and amenities. The owner, Charles, could not have been more accomodating, and the location was most convenient.

Location is fantastic. Owner and property mgmt company were a pleasure to deal with. Nice neighborhood, but situated a little close to the main road. The fixtures, bedding, baths and kitchen are all very dated. The property was clean and ready for our stay but needs considerable TLC. General maintenance of property needs attention (heating, appliances, hot tub, lighting, cabinetry, painting, curtains, etc..) We contacted the owner a number of times and he was very responsive toward our needs and a true professional. If you are on a budget with a bunch of guys for a bachelor get a way or college kids - this is a fine property. Romantic getaway or families who have higher expectations should not stay at this property. The price is very cost effective for the number of rooms and location.

We had a great experience here.We had a family wedding in South Lake Tahoe and this location was wonderful. There were plenty of beds for everyone and the pool table was a fun activity for visitors. The hot tub was very clean and we enjoyed the peaceful setting and the neighborhood was great for walks. We hope to visit there again!

Our family has rented this home once a year for the past 2 years. It has really suited our needs. It is like our home away from home. The kitchen is fully stocked, so we take turns cooking (8 adults). The other amenities make this property resort-like==we never run out of things to do. These include: hot tub, horseshoes, ping-pong, pool table, large-screen TV, bbq and nice patio, and it is close to town, but out of ear shot. My own personal kudos is that we always have lots of towels! We hope that the owner will rent to us again next year, as this home is clean, large, well-stocked, and conveniently located in S. Lake Tahoe.
Owner response:Thanks Mickey! Your reassurance really comes at a good time. After almost 200 clients and three years, I recently received a negative review after the cleaners were not scheduled before the guests arrived, and it really made it unpleasant. It's good to know that this place really is special, and nothing says that better than to have repeat guests. you and your family have "dibs" on Fourth of July weekend as long as you want. Glad you had a good time again this year, and looking forward to many more to come ! Charles

The listing description for this property is totally wrong. This place is filthy! Upon arrival we immediately contacted the property owner who "wanted to buy us dinner" as a piece offering since the place had not been cleaned. All the cleaning in the world could not have helped this place. We did not want to sit on anything let alone sleep there. Unless you're a bunch of guys wanting to trash a place for a bachelor party, STAY AWAY! Oh yes, I forgot to mention there was a blow up doll hanging on a wall right as you opened the front door. What a nice touch to this place!
Owner response:It is truly regrettable that this client had the "perfect storm" of experience with their rental. First, the Property Manager had failed to communicate with the cleaners and schedule the house to be cleaned (apparently after a party of some sort!), and when they arrived, the place was a mess. They were able to get in touch with me, and the property manager, which I offerred to buy them dinner while the cleaners got there and cleaned the place. They declined this offer (first impressions being what they are), however fortunately, the property manager had a suitable townhouse to which they relocated, and indicated all was well. Until this note. I would like the reader to that note that I view alll comments regarding the reputation of the property I have to offer seriously, and have taken concrete steps for the cleaning to be scheduled, an on-site inspection performed by the property manager, and then an e-mail sent to me for verification prior to anyone checking in. Of the hundreds of clients I have had over the past few years this is the first time this has occurred, and will be the last. I request the reader look at the many other comments (some as late as this past 4th of July weekend), to get a true perspective of the uniqueness, value, and service this property brings to your vacation needs. Thanks again Charles for renting your beautiful house in Tahoe, perfect location close to Edgewood golf course. Snow came which was an added bonus for those who have not experience fresh snow in late May, but did not stop us to use the grill for tasty bbq, that's when we found out that the propane tank is empty, no big deal, there's a convenience store around the corner and got it filled. The house has it's character but the mysterious clock that didn't work for 3 days started running on our last day at the house, spooky! Other than that, It kept evreryone warm and comfortable at the end of the day and were rested for the next day's activity. One more thing, that overhead in the kitchen is the only unsafe feature that you may consider for your next project improvement. Overall, we all had a great time! Thank you and hope you'll let us stay again next reunion.

I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking for an affordable place next to Stateline, but also has the amenities of a premium rental. Our group enjoyed the hot tub, pool table, and horseshoes. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to both families and friends who just want to hang out. A huge plus would be that Safeway is not too far away and you also have a few restaurants/bars within a few block radius.

A group of coworkers and I spent the weekend in the cabin and enjoyed ourselves quite a bit! The location is absolutely perfect - just about walking distance down to the lake and casinos. The house accommodates a lot of people and we had a lot of fun with the pool/ping pong table and the hot tub. Overall we had an absolute blast and would love to stay again if provided the opportunity. Highly recommended.

This house was absolutely the best house for a large group of family and friends. My husband surprised me for my 30th birthday, by booking this house and inviting my family and friends. We found the location to be close by to the casinos and night life and also a great spot to just hang out and enjoy the surroundings that Tahoe offers. We were there in March after a large snow storm and had not only an amazing time, but was gorgeous. Could only imagine what it would be like the rest of the seasons. The house was comfortable, bedrooms were good sized, kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans, and spent many hours in the game room. The maintenance staff was over in the first hour to make sure everything was working properly. We would highly recommend this house to all of our family and friends and anyone else. Thank you Charles for your prompt response to all of our inquires.
Owner response:Sweet!! This is what I enjoy so much in providing this service! My secret is that I get to enjoy it too!! Glad you had a great time, and come back again! Charles

Organized a crew of 13 skiers to stay here for 5 days and 4 nights. It is close to everything in S. Lake Tahoe (about 2 min from Casino) and has everything you could possibly want for a group trip or large family vacation. Owner was excellent in communication and very easy to work with. With 4 baths, it made it much more enjoyable with a larger crew. Hot-Tub was excellent after the slopes. Pool table and Ping Pong made our evenings great! Highly recommend this place to ANYONE. A few tips: It is not a "high class" home. I wouldn't expect granite counters and travertine floors. It is a very comfortable and cozy home that has exactly what you need on a ski trip. Plenty of comfortable beds, a working kitchen and entertainment. The location make it an excellent choice. Hope this helps!

A group of friends and i went up for a ski weekend this winter and had an awesome time. The cabin is great! There's plenty of room for larger groups and lots to do. We spent a good many hours playing pool (billiards) and watched a fair share of movies on the big screen T.V. The cabin itself is only minutes away from downtown South Lake Tahoe and Heavenly Ski Resort, which made it really easy to do things on a whim. We had an awesome time. In fact this was the second time that we used this cabin!

Overall there were some minor issues with the house, but given it's relatively low price for how many people it can hold it was still a good overall experience. The Good: Plenty of sleeping arrangements, plenty of parking, great location, ONE gas fireplace was very effective The Not as Good: The kitchen is a bit cramped for a house that size, especially with the big fume hood, but we made due happily enough. The hot tub was more of a warm tub, not getting much above 100 degrees, but it was also blizzarding outside so we couldn't expect much. The other gas fireplace appeared to be stripped where you turned it on.
Owner response:Gregg forgot to mention that he left snow chains in the driveway which chewed up the snow blower. In the spirit of Christmas, I still refunded his entire deposit. The jacuzzi can be set as high as 104, which I think is the max allowed. If the top is left open, then I am sure it will be less. I am very pleased with the prompt response of the property manager when something does come up. For instance, the other night a tenant had difficulty closing the garage door (perhaps Gregg ran into it?), Ovi, our maintenence guy drove over the hill at 9:30 at night to make sure they were comfortable. The Overhead door tech was out the next day. It is my objective to get 5 stars in service, and I suggest you read the remaining reviews to get a true sense of value.

What an absolutely amazing weekend! This cabin had everything we could possibly want and more! There was a giant screen TV that made the living room look like a movie theater, a pool table, a hot tub, a gas grill, a huge kitchen and enough beds and futons for all 20 of us to sleep comfortably! We were so close to the lakefront and the casinos that there was never a dull moment. We cooked, relaxed, hot tubbed, swam in the lake, gambled, danced, and enjoyed each other's company in this absolutely wonderful cabin. Charles was so easy to communicate with and we're already planning a trip back for next year! This most certainly has become an annual tradition for us! Thank you so very much for the stay Charles and those of you reading this should most definitely take advantage of this beautiful and affordable place to stay.
Owner response:Wow! What a gratifying comment. I am so happy you had a great time, and I look forward to seeing you again!

The home that we rented from Charles Gardner at 159 Cottonwood, S. Lake Tahoe, was spacious, super clean, plenty of home activities to keep us all happy, and the kitchen was well-stocked with all necessary appliances, dishes, flatware, etc. All we had to furnish was our clothes and food! It was unanimous, the family wants to go back next year, and plans are in the works. Thank you, Charles, for sharing your lovely home with us!
Owner response:Thanks Mickey!! It's always great to have someone so pleased that they want to immediately come back and recapture the unique Lake Tahoe experience. You hit on what I strive to provide. A comfortable home, clean and well stocked, and close to all the amenities Tahoe has to offer (plus a few when "hangin out" at the house! Plenty of room for fun, and space for that quiet nap too! Look forward to having you come back next year! Charles

We had a great time at this cabin this past weekend. The hot tub and pool table were great additions. The driveway accomodated 4 cars, even with all the snow! We had plenty of space inside and I would encourage others to stay at this cabin.

Hi Charlie!I can’t begin to tell you what an awesome time we had in Lake Tahoe this weekend. The house couldn’t have been more perfect for my 50th Birthday celebration! There were plenty of clean linens/towels, the kitchen was more than adequately stocked with everything we needed, and the house and yard were clean and very well maintained. From the comfy furnishings to the hot tub under the stars, no one went home disappointed! We will definitely consider renting it again when we plan our next Tahoe trip. Many thanks for helping to make this weekend memorable!

Were disappointed with our stay. Although the house was comfortable, clean, and well-kept. The lack of amenities and working items made our stay inconvinient and very expensive. The DVD Player in the living did not have a remote so we were not able to play the movies, only get the the main menu. The key for the fireplace in the living room was missing, There was no laundry detergent provided. The drawers and arms in the refridgerator were broken so it limited the amout of items that would fit, the felt tips for the pool sticks were missing which made a game inaccurate, the jaccuzi did not work- it did not heat up, the televisions in all the rooms did not play any stations or cable, only snow. This stay was for a family reunion and was very disappointing for the cost. I hope my family recieves a large refund because the amenities promised in the contract were not provided and were false.
Owner response:It is unfortunate this guest did not have the maximum benefit of the vacation home. I was there this weekend, and they were correct in that two of the six TV's were not connected properly. I did find the fireplace keys and the refigerator bin holders, the jacuzzi had been serviced and works properly and the pool cues were fixed. I was able to have the TV's serviced and repaired in 24 hours. A simple phone call to the property manager in this case would have made all the difference. The real experience is best described in the hundreds of others very satisfied guests, I leave this as a note to communicate any needs and they will be met.

This house was perfect for our 4th of july weekend! The location was great! We were so close to the casinos, shopping and the beach! The kitchen is laid out very well. We had at least 3 cooks for every meal and we never felt too crowded. I loved the double oven! There's lots of hot water too - everyone was able to take showers either before or after we took the boat to the lake! The yard in the back was great for laying out in the sun for the girls and the big TV was great for the guys to watch sports! We all played ping pong and pool as well! We walked down the street and saw the fireworks over the lake! We had the perfect spot! So much fun! The only thing we regret is not staying longer!

Hi Charlie, The place was great, it was exactly what we needed. I cooked for 3 days for 20 people (that's 9 meals!) and it was perfect. There was so much room, nobody felt crowded. The place was beautiful, and very convenient to get to everything. The jacuzzi was definitely appreciated by those who hit the slopes. And there were so many bathrooms, not once was anyone waiting around. Between the driveway and the garage, there was plenty of room for all the cars. And everybody had a nice warm comfortable place to sleep. Everybody kept asking if we were going to do it again next year.......I think so. Thank you so much, it was a great time........oh and the ladies at Select Properties were so sweet.

Charles, I cant begin to explain to you what a wonderful time my friends & I had staying at your cabin. I couldnt believe how much room there was for everyone. We had 16 total, everyone had a bed, the 4 bathrooms came in handy. We used the heck out of the kitchen, we cooked breakfast, lunch, & dinner the whole 5 days we were there. The pool table and ping pong table were a hit, and even though it was snowing, that didn't keep us from enjoying the jacuzzi. The location to the casino and the ski lifts were so close we could have walked if it wasn't snowing so hard. Thank you so much for letting us stay at your cabin, we had a great time and after talking it over with my friends we hope to make this trip and annual one, I only hope your cabin is available when we decide to come again next year. Annette
Owner response:Thanks Annette ! Let me know if there is anything I can do to improve your stay next time. I'm glad you have joined the many who have enjoyed what I have. It reminds me to block out some time for myself! all the best! Charlie (P.S. I will promptly return your deposit this weekend!)

Well Charlie, we had a fantastic weekend in Tahoe. Your cabin was absolutely perfect! The accommodations were just right, and the location was phenomenal. Ping pong tournaments seemed to be the most popular indoor activity, but we did also enjoy playing poker, pool, and going for a dip in the jaccuzi. We barbequed up more hotdogs than I've seen in the last decade - simplicity was our motto...less time cooking, and more time soaking up all Tahoe had to offer. We got to watch the NFL draft on Saturday, as well as exhaust ourselves playing beach soccer at Zephyr Cove...now THAT was a perfect day...75 degrees and sunny, crystal clear water, and stunning snow capped mountains...etched in my memory for good :-) We coudn't have asked for more beautiful weather, and your cabin made us feel right at home. I made sure we took care of your place like it was our own, and I expect to be returning sometime in the near future. A huge thanks for everything Charlie!! Best regards, -Josh
