This two bedroom / two bathroom apartment is part of a complex of six apartments, on top of the hill above Playa Pelada where the breezes are fresh and cooling and the view is fantastic, please see our web site. For complete privacy, the property is nestled between lots of tropical plants behind fences and walls.
Libertad offers fantastic views from sun rise to sun set of the white waters of Playa Pelada and Playa Guiones and the landscape in between.
Each bedroom has a king size bed with orthopedic mattress and a private full bathroom, making it comfortable for two couples.
The kitchen is equipped for full time living and meals can be enjoyed inside or on the balcony. Windows on all sides and plenty of fans keep this top level apartment cool.
There is a large walk-in "bodega" (safe storage room with metal door and dead bold lock) large enough for anything you might want to put safely away.
Weekly maid service is included in the price, as is use of the laundry room. The telephone is for local calls only, but all of Costa Rica is "local".
We do not have a TV, but there is a small, but growing library, a radio with tape deck plus CD-player/MP3 player and a varied selection of CD's - or you could bring your own music. Bring your own audio cable and you can hook up your own music player to the music system.
To stay in contact with the "real world", bring your lap top and connect to the secure wireless network.
We do ask that you do not smoke inside or bring pets at all.
Our pool is the largest private pool in the area and really nice, but when you want to see other bodies of water, it is only a 10-15 minute walk to the beach or the mouth of Rio Nosara for swimming, fishing, and shell collecting. (Coming back takes a little bit longer, because it is up-hill part of the way.)
Car or ATV is necessary for trips to Nosara Village and beyond. If you decide not to rent a vehicle for your entire stay, there is taxi service for a reasonable price and now five car rental places where you can rent for a day or more.

Why the Owner Chose NosaraIn the summer of 2000, we traveled to Nosara, Costa Rica for the first time. We stayed at a small resort, which a friend had made us aware of. It was love at first sight! Nosara had everything we like: beach, ocean, warm weather, tropical fruits, fresh fish, original, local flair and friendly people. For the first time, we felt very much “at home”. Nosara chose us to stay, and a building lot for sale nearby kept calling us. Building in a Central American country has been a very interesting experience! It has taken a little blood, lots of sweat and some tears - and more patience than we thought we had, but we love the result. We invite you to share in our dream.
The Unique Benefits at this CondoThe higher you get, the better the view gets. Libertad has the highest position of all of Casa Banda, and the view is fantastic! If we hadn’t already built one of the other apartments for ourselves, this penthouse would be our choice. Besides the view, it has plenty of room and a lot of character with its earth tones, furniture of our own design and lots of local hardwoods. This apartment has its own “fan club” of guests who keep coming back and always request this unit.

Despite our Scandinavian roots, we have always turned our eyes to the South when traveling for pleasure. In 1980, we emigrated to Virginia and found a climate much better than what we were used to in Denmark, but our vacations would generally take us even further south – and always to bodies of water. Over the years, we have seen many beautiful places, but it was always good to go back home to Virginia.

Dearest Bibi and Arne,Oh my God, can you believe that it is 2009? It feels like just a moment ago that we were standing on the shores of Kauai in Hawaii professing our love for each other getting married. Tempus Fugit! Ten years later, I can’t think of any way that I would rather renew my marriage vows than here in a location as rustic, unspoiled and natural than Nosara in surroundings as comfortable as home, with friendly hosts as yourselves.As a U.S. marine, I have traveled the globe to every clime and place and can honestly say, I have never encountered such warm hospitality, genuine friendliness and comfortable dwellings in such a picturesque and peaceful environment. We don’t want to leave.Albeit, we must and as much of a tragedy as it is for us at the moment, I know my remaining days until my return will be filled with the memories of you and Arne sitting poolside with us, while I plan our next adventure to Costa Rica to enjoy Pura Vida in Nosara and see you again!With much love and admiration,
