This home has been loved and cared for. We have preserved the special place that was our beloved Grandparents' home and we have made it available for you to stay in during your visit to historic Carson City and the beautiful surrounding areas.
This is a large, double-wide mobile home on a large privately owned lot situated on a quiet culdesac of a neighborhood, not a mobile-home park.
Well maintained, very clean home with all the amenities for your comfort and convenience.
Close to Reno, Virginia City and Lake Tahoe.
Please ask about your pets.

I’ve been catching up at work and forgot to email you about how wonderful the trip was for us. Honestly, each one of us reflected that this was the BEST place we’ve ever stayed re: VRBO and we’ve stayed lots of places. It was so unique. What a fun stroll down memory lane. I remember all of the appliances in my 70’s childhood home down to the Mr. Coffee! The kids absolutely loved it. Your VCR and movie collection were a special treat. Fried Green Tomatoes a classic and you have it!! My husband grew up in Carson City not too far from the Humble Abode and his mother/sister are buried within a mile (toward town across from the park and down a street). My daughter and I went to the gym at the public recreation center several times and even walked– you should add that to your VRBO site. It has a very large indoor poor, an outdoor pool and a nice simple weight room. We swam at the historic hot springs just up the street. We drove and then took the steam train to Virginia City. Spent several afternoons at Sand Harbor, Lake Tahoe, too! CARSON CITY has a TRADER JOE’s! That is a plus. We don’t have one and we have over 100,000 people! NOT FAIR! Hahahaha. Thanks, it was truly a special trip for ALL of US!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The care and thought that the owner has put into this place is phenomenal. The following is a partial itemized list based on our two week experience there. 1) Short term furnished vacation rentals: Almost non-existent in Carson City. This was a great place to stay! 2) The welcome: Flowers, tasty cookies, and a welcome note waiting on the counter when you arrive. 3) Visitor Center: We never had to go the local visitor center as there is one in the house - Awesome. 4) Lake Tahoe: 20 minutes to see the lake and be at the first parking area for Spooner Lake and access to great hiking and biking trails. The first boat launch is only a few minutes further, and Zephyr Cove just beyond that (beach, boat rentals, boat tours, etc.). 5) Kitchen: Had everything we needed and we cooked often. 6) TV's: 3 TV's, a DVR, and a supply of older movies to watch. I actually watched "Mary Poppins" start to finish, for the first time ever. 7) Our dog: Our bichon enjoyed the spacious, fenced-in yard as she did not have to be on a leash. 8) Reno: Not that far away for all it has to offer. 9) Miscellaneous: Ample space, sitting options, plenty of sleeping space, interesting decor, etc.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+.

We love this home. This is the second time we have stayed here and throughly love it. There is so much room and enough beds that we even had my parents come with us. They loved it too. All of the adults had their own rooms and there was seperate areas for the kids. The house is fun, clean and well stocked. They had everything we needed. There is lots of shaded areas in the yard to relax and let kids play. We love that it is so close to so many places to visit. They even have travel info there and papers with ideas of what to do and see. The house is perfect to be able to go to Virgina City, Lake Tahoe and Reno. Everything is so close. Randee is wonderful to work with. My son left his glasses and they took the time to find them for us. You are definately treated like famiily when you stay here. We love this home and all of us are planning on coming again and staying here.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I have to admit that I was a bit hesitant to rent a mobile home for our family vacation. Rest assured this "humble abode" is a wonderful home that has all of the comforts needed to provide a safe and care free vacation. The location is convenient to all of the Sierra Nevada attractions, it is situated on a quiet tree lined street and the yard is accomodating, secure and well kept. The home was clean, comfortable and had ample space for family gatherings--complete with an avocado circular sofa. I would reccomend to my friends.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+.

What a great place to spend an old fashioned Christmas! We arrived on 12-23-11 for a 5 night stay. We walked in and it was like coming home to grandma’s house. It is much bigger than the photos show and so cozy and comfortable. It was clean and welcoming. There were fresh baked cookies and a vase filled with fresh flowers. What a sweet touch. My 8 year old grandson just loved it. For some reason he loved taking a bath in the master bathroom. The home just gave you such a warm and loved feeling. He was so relaxed there and he called it our Cabin. LOL. It was cool to see the old stereo and turn table, speaker cabinet, a beautiful organ and the big old lamps. We called them the Genie Lamps. I think we even rubbed the one hanging in the living room just to see if a Genie would pop out. LOL We settled in, went out and got a Christmas tree and had one of the best Christmas’s ever! The owner Randee is just an AWESOME person to work with. She answered all of our numerous questions and treated us like family. I can’t say enough good things about her. This is everything the ad states and then some. We recommend this rental to anyone who wants to get away and step a little back in time to a slower paced atmosphere. We just loved it! This just might become a traditional Christmas getaway with our Family! It looks like there are a lot of things to do in and around Carson City in the summer time so we are hoping we will be able spend some time there this summer. If you are reading this, what are you waiting for? Contact her and rent it, you will not be disappointed!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My husband and I and another couple rented Humble Abode while attending Street Vibrations! The rental was awesome! The owner really put a lot of conscientious effort into considering what we may want or need. The home is spacious, very clean and obviously well cared for. The flowers and cookies that greeted us were great since my husband doesn't buy flowers and I don't bake cookies! LOL! Although we did not bring our dogs on this trip, it's great to know that they are welcome. The yard is large and fully fenced in and we knew our bikes were safe. The requirements for bikers was easy, appropriate and simple to comply with. Also because there was so much room we were able to invite guests over. Overall, our stay was really great! So much better than a hotel! I know we'll be back again & again, both for Street Vibrations (without the dogs) and for family visits (with the dogs) since we have family in the nearby area. Thank you again, Randee you were great!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
