Monterey Dunes Way is on the ocean just south of Moss Landing. Take the Molera Road exit from Highway 1 or 156. The quaint fishing village of Moss Landing with its antique shops, picturesque marinas, unique restaurants, and fresh fish market is just five minutes away.
Award-winning restaurants, exclusive shopping, world famous golf courses (Pebble Beach Golf Club), scenic 17-mile drive and the Monterey Bay Aquarium are all located in Monterey and Carmel approximately twenty five minutes south of Monterey Dunes. The Big Sur Scenic region is an hour drive further down the Pacific coast.

Great house, magnificent ocean views (complete with sea otters, dolphins, and whales). Perfect for our family of three married couples. Great recreation facilities (glad to find a Bocce Ball set in the hall closet!) Covered garage and plenty of additional parking. Wi-Fi and fireplace got good use. Would rent again.

This townhome is the best! It is located on a quiet, pristine beach fifteen minutes north of Monterey outside of Moss Landing. My husband and I were in San Francisco for our niece's wedding and stayed here for four nights with my sister and her husband. It was perfect for us: two bedrooms on the lower level with king size beds, each bedroom with it's own bathroom. (We didn't need the third bedroom.) The townhome is in an older upscale development surrounded by the Salinas River Wildlife Refuge on the south, the Salinas River State Beach on the north, and huge sand dunes on the east, and overlooking the Pacific ocean to the west. The mature landscaped grounds are exquisitely maintained and very secure. Behind the dunes to the east are lush fields planted with artichokes, strawberries, lettuce and other crops stretching for miles. We watched whales, dolphins, sunsets from the living room. Although the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed, we ate most of our meals out. Phil's Fish Market and Eatery was one of our favorite stops. Our highlight was driving down Highway 1, Big Sur. We took our time, stopping at most of the turnouts, walking down to beaches or overlooks, watching huge waves and taking pictures of the coastline, seals, and wild vegetation. This is a photographers heaven! We picked up deli sandwiches at the Big Sur Center Deli and General Store (about 30 miles from Monterey) and had a picnic lunch at one of the turnouts. Although we spent our entire day on this drive, we didn't get past Lucia, there was just too much to see. Our other days were spent on 17 mile drive and Carmel, wine tasting and sightseeing in Monterey. Drink the local wines and eat the local food, they are fabulous! There were many things we missed, so we'll have to come back. Just some additional comments on the Whitewater House: It is beautifully renovated/updated/decorated/furnished, spotlessly clean, new appliances, beautifully remodeled tiled bathrooms, cable TV, spacious layout, everything worked, ample kitchenware and towels, beautiful views, very quiet and peaceful. The rooms are on multi-levels which could be difficult if you have trouble with stairs. Thank you John for making your vacation home available. We highly recommend this property.

My three classmates and I spent a wonderful week at this beach house 20 minutes from Monterey, it was an easy drive to the Aquarium, whale watching, Carmel-By-The-Sea and for lunch or dinner in town after shopping. One day we were picked up from the house by a limo for a delightful wine-tasting tour at the Carmel valley. We took long walks and practiced Yoga on the beach, where we saw dolphins, seals, pelicans and whales. We hiked at near by Big Sur and Big Basin under the giant trees. Oh, and we also went horseback riding on the beach!! : ) The house is well equipped and very comfortable. It was great to relax in the hot tub and the heated pool! Wonderful vacation spot!

We needed to get away and this location was ideal! Lovely view, secluded, well-tended an unique home. We had a wonderful time and felt refreshed afterwards. Really loved it; highly recommend it!
