Great for a Big Family

This house is beautiful and can easily accomodate a large group. There was plenty of room for everyone- the kitchen table seats 14, lots of couches etc. The website pictures have not been updated. The only trouble we had was getting up to the house. We arrived on a snowy day and 2 of the 5 cars couldn't make it up Moranda (which is very steep) and ended up having to park at a friend's condo at Holimont. 4-wheel drive is a must in the winter.

I stayed at this beautiful Chalet a few weeks ago and it was amazing. The place was very clean and very comfortable. This place exceeded my family and my own expectations. The pictures online dont even do the house justice. We had such a nice stay in this place. It was just big enough sleep all 14 of us, which we were very pleased with. My family and I will definitely be renting this beautiful chalet again!!

We rented this house over the Labor Day weekend (2011) and we thrilled to be able to find a house to accomodate 4 families. The problems started when I spoke to the owner after our arrival and asked for help in turning on the air conditioning. The answer was "there is no air conditioning, open the windows, you'll be fine." The temperature that weekend was close to 90 degrees and it wasn't fine. There were 3 free standing fans and one ceiling fan and it wasn't close to being comfortable. While the description does not say that there is air it was assumed that a new property that is available for year round rental would be properly equipped. Some other things to be aware of--the beds are certainly not high quality, the silverware is from the Dollar Store, there is a beautiful upstairs deck but no chairs, the living room furniture has lost its springs, the dryer takes at least 3 cycles before the laundry is dry and the fire pit is an afterthought. I would suggest that you view the properties next door that have wonderful landscaping and hot tubs. The owner mentioned many times what a "deal" we were getting but it isn't a deal when you have to leave the house to get cool. We have rented houses in Ellicottville many times but we left this time disappointed.
