Why the Owner Chose Wildwood

I love Wildwood. My Mom passed away in 2011 and my greatest memories of my mom are from our great times in Wildwood. Thanks to my Mom and wonderful Husband, my dream (and my Mom's) has finally come true.

I've been riding my bike on the boardwalk since I was four years old.

I love "Seashell" Ice Cream and my husband's favorite "Hassles" only a few blocks to walk away.

We also love the "pulled pork sandwiches" at the Dog Tooth Cafe.

Our place is wonderful since you can get up in the morning and walk to breakfast at either Jimbo's or Samuel's Pancake House.

We also ride our bikes on the boardwalk and can ride to all the stores. A bike rental is across the street and they rent bikes for the week!

The Unique Benefits at this Condo

The deck is great just to sit, relax, read and watch the people walk by. The new furniture just makes it the perfect outdoor space.

A perfect day is reading or sleeping on the beach and watching the waves roll in and children playing in the sand.

The outdoor shower at the condo is great since you can have a nice warm shower to remove your sand from the day.

The perfect night is walking the boardwalk and seeing the children's smiles.

Being in Wildwood to me is like being in "Heaven". I don't want to ever go home.

Your home is beautiful & so close to the boardwalk, beach and all there is to do!! Your binder with "Things to do at the shore!!" was the BEST IDEA EVER!! Thank you for taking the time to make it. We agree - - Rick's Seafood is the BEST! We've only been here a few days - Hurricane Irene has caused an early evacuation :( but we have enjoyed every minute beening here. Thank You!

We want to thank the both of you first of all for a great stay at your Wildwood condo. We had great time and your place was clean, comfortable and really convenient. We had easy access to the boardwalk and the beach. Really quiet. Best place we have stayed in Wildwood.

Renters...Be Aware

We had rented this unit on two separate occasions in 2007 and 2008. We never had a problem and were very pleased with our experiences. We were excited to return in 2011 but later learned that our signed lease was going to be taken over by new owners. However, the terms and conditions of the lease were to be honored. Our experiences this year with the new owners were quite different. We chose this unit because it is advertised as pet free and would be safe for our family members with pet allergies. The lease stated no pets, but upon our arrival we found evidence of both cat and dog food and supplies in the closets. A member of our family had an allergic reaction. We had an issue with the garage door and contacted the owners. We were told they would look into it. However, there was no resolution made and we dealt with the inconvenience of the garage door issue our entire two week visit. We ALWAYS check the beach supplies and equipment in the storage closet prior to taking them to the shore. This year, we found a beach chair and other equipment that were already broken and unusable. We did not use them and assumed the owners knew the condition as they were left in the closet for the renters. As a matter of fact, this beach chair was the same chair that was available to us in 2008 and had visible signs of wear and tear from years of use and rust from the water at the shore. Upon receiving our security deposit in the mail 2 weeks after our stay, a portion of our deposit was withheld and we were assessed a fee for damages to the beach chair. We had received no verbal or written notice from the owners about ANY concerns with our stay in the 2 weeks before our money was withheld. When we tried to make contact with the owners for an explanation they were slow in their response and will not return our money for damages we did not cause. As a result of our experiences, we are unable to recommend this location favorably. We STRONGLY suggest that renters take pictures of everything available to them as proof of the condition of the equipment. Don’t be surprised when you open your mail that a portion of your security deposit is withheld for damages to OLD and BROKEN beach equipment that you did not even use.

Owner response:After purchasing our condo we agreed to honor the lease agreements. This family was able to rent the condo for an $850 discount. We were kind enough to honor this discount even during the 4th of July holiday. My family love staying at our condo and my daughter and I used the chair (which wasn’t broken or rusty) the week prior. I’m from the upbringing where if you break something that belongs to someone you just replace it or at least offer to do so. Unfortunately, we decided that we would charge our renters the replacement cost of the chair ($30) against their reasonable security deposit of $270 (for 2 weeks). We also sent them pictures of the chair that was broken. We did however not charge them for extra cost that we incurred from having to rinse down all of the beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys or replacement costs for a chipped skim board. Most vacation homes do not come with all the supplies that you need for the beach. Our vacation home comes equipped with beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, boogie boards, skim boards and a beach cart. We try to make it as easy as possible for your stay. As for the Garage door, the issue was that our neighbor had their garage door on the same frequency as us and when they opened their garage ours opened as well. This issue was not reported until the last week of their stay and we were able to resolve after their departure. As for Pets, we do not claim to be Pet free. We however do not allow renter's to bring their Pets. However based on requests that we have received the previous owner had rented to people with Pets. It is funny how once you withhold an amount from a person’s security deposit they claim they had an allergic reaction. This was the email comment that I received from this renter after week 1, “Just wanting to check in with you and let you know that we are having a wonderful time and are looking forward to week 2.” It didn’t sound like pets were bothering them at that point. We are not a business, just a family that loves the beach and wants to share our love of the ocean with our renters.
