Rock Hall is called the “Jewel of the Chesapeake” and you will discover that for yourself when you rent this charming waterfront house on a private shared driveway. Located off of Lawton Avenue in Rock Hall, the house is perched on pilings above the marsh with its full-length deck facing east and overlooking Heron Cove. You won’t find Heron Cove on a chart or a map; that is the name we gave this short branch of Swan Creek after enjoying the summer watching the herons fishing right off of the dock. Herons, ospreys, ducks, swans and cormorants all enjoy the water by the house. You will too. The water off the dock is very shallow and can completely disappear if the wind blows from the North. Most of the time, however, the water is just right for launching a Kayak or Canoe and exploring swan creek, or just enjoying the tranquility.
The house is clean, modern and simply furnished. An elevator is available to transport you and your groceries to the main level where you will find wireless internet, a TV with Surround sound, BluRay DVD player and a selection of movies (no cable or satellite at this time).
Visit Rock Hall’s web site to learn about the great marinas, restaurants and shops within walking and biking distance of your vacation rental. Three bikes are available to help you get around town and explore.
You are only walking distance from the Bay. The public swimming beach on the Chesapeake Bay is less than ten minutes walk from the house.

My wife and I came to the Rock Hall when our kids were little and loved it. Somehow, time passed and we did not return until our 25th wedding anniversary. Again, we fell in love with the area. We put together a five year plan to buy our own place, but six months later we found our home on Heron Cove. We are enthralled by the ever-changing water, colors, light, and wildlife. We are calmed by the peaceful quiet of the deck looking over the cove.
