“The Bear’s Den” is located 90 minutes north of Atlanta in Morganton, GA. Nestled in the woods, this secluded mountain retreat offers beautiful views of the Appalachian foothills. Our log cabin, built in 2007, is on approximately 4 acres with hiking and ATV trails on the property. Start your morning with coffee and a cool mountain breeze in a rocking chair on the screened porch or wrap around deck. At dusk, watch the sun set behind the mountains from the swings on the patio or count the stars while roasting s’mores around the fire pit.
True to its name “The Bear’s Den” is a great retreat to the mountains and lake with all the comforts of home. Entering on the open main level, you find a cozy living room with a wood burning fireplace (great for a romantic evening), a dining area, and fully equipped kitchen. The barrel bar separating the kitchen and living area creates an ideal spot to sit, chat, and snack on appetizers while someone prepares a hearty meal. Around the table, at the bar, or on the sofa, we are certain even Goldilocks can find the perfect seat. When ready to test the beds, the main level includes a bedroom with a queen size bed and adjoining bath.
Going upstairs you will find a great loft to hibernate with a book or daydream while staring out the windows at the mountain views. While in search of the perfect bed, you may try out the upstairs bedroom with its king size bed and adjoining bath.
The lower level adorns a bedroom with 2 twin beds to choose from, a bathroom with rain heads in the shower, and doors to a private patio. You may find this suite to be “just right”! If you don’t want to leave the “Den” on a rainy day or when the Big Game is on, the Media Room with theatre seating provides big screen entertainment in reclining leather theatre style seats, swivel rockers, or sofa. With a variety of DVD’s, board games, and air hockey to entertain the active cub in all of us, rainy days are not so gloomy.
“The Bear’s Den” is close to historic downtown Blue Ridge, Lake Blue Ridge and the Toccoa River. You can go kayaking, rafting, or canoeing on the river; ski and fish in the lake; ride the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad, go horseback riding, visit Kid’s Fun World, Bert’s Pumpkin Farm, Merciers Apple Orchard, or the Swan Drive in Movie Theatre. There are also local golf courses in the area for your enjoyment
Whether you want a romantic weekend getaway, a family vacation, or a long weekend with friends, “The Bear’s Den” will provide a great secluded mountain retreat.

Owner's Map of Blue Ridge
We love the N. Georgia Mountains and have always had a place here. As our family matured we found ourselves relocating all over the US (New York, Colorado, South Carolina). This is our family meeting place. We love the secluded nature of our home as it serves as a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of the various cities in which we now live. We love the town, the lake is great for boating and swimming, and the river rafting is the best. We hope that you enjoy our home as much as we do.

If you want way back in the woods, peace and quiet? This is the place for you. This house is a perfect place to get away from the stress of everyday life. We kept a fire going in the fire place and coffee or hot chocolate hot ready to take the chill out of your bones. The house is decorated for the true sportsman at heart. We wanted to try something different for Christmas. We all had a very good time and one we won't soon forget. I would recommend this back woods treasure to everyone.

The Bear's Den was a perfect home base for my North Georgia fly fishing trip. The cabin was very clean with all the admenities that you could want. A short drive to the Tocca river and downtown to Unicoi Outfitter in down town Blue Ridge. I enjoyed the setting of the woods and views that welcome you right off the back deck of the cabin. After an ejoyable day on the river we all kicked back and entertain our selves in the media room. I strongly suggest this place as a rental if you want the secluded natural enviroment while still be able to quickly drive into the small majestic mountain town of Blue Ridge.

I think the owner Lisle has found the most perfect spot for his cabin! If you are looking for a beautiful, restful place to just relax, you will want to stay here. There were a total of 6 adults in our party and we never felt crowded at all. The screen porch on the upper deck was lovely and the lower deck had the most awesome swings. The media room was a nice bonus as well! We would love to stay at this cabin again in the future & I will definitely recommend this cabin to all of my family.

This property is just beautiful. We spent 4 nights at the cabin and never heard or saw anyone, completely private. The cabin itself is decorated and stocked better than any cabin we have ever stayed in. It feels more like you are at a friends home than a rental. I would recommend this property to my friends and family. The back screened in porch was wonderful--ceiling fans to keep you cool and no bugs and taking in the view was great. Thanks to Lisle and his family for opening their home to us---we will be back.

We had a great time at Bear's Den. We frequently travel to the N. Ga. Mountains for quick getaways, and subsequently, have rented quite a few cabins during that time. This is by far the most well-equipped cabin we've ever stayed in. The landscaping was great, the cabin was great, the outdoor fire pit was a nice touch. There was plenty of room for everyone. I loved the shower in the children's room in the basement; it was like being under a gentle rainshower. I highly recommend doing a survey of the kitchen before travelling to the grocery store, because the owners had practically everything you could think of already stocked in the kitchen. The beds were comfortable, the silverware provided was nice, cooking items were top knotch....simply superb!! Nice family photos to view throughout the cabin. I enjoyed the swings on the lower level of the house and having the step stools made it easy for my 2 year old to climb into the high beds...thanks. The owner was prompt in answering any concerns we had and I would highly recommend this cabin to a friend or relative. You have a great cabin and we look forward to returning hopefully before the end of the year.

Cabin was much nicer than expected. Everything was high quality, like staying at a relatives house. This did not feel like the typical rental. We loved the swings on the lower level in the mornings listening to the birds. Beautiful and secluded.

What a precious cabin. I loved your decor. The view off your back screened in porch is just perfect in the morning for rocking and drinking coffee. The fire pit and landscaping is very nice. We enjoyed a day on the lake where we rented a pontoon boat. What a beautiful and uncrowded lake! Looking forward to renting in the fall and trying out the fire pit. Such an easy drive from Atlanta even on a Friday afternoon.
