Sunset Farm with its magnificent rebuilt 19th century barn sits on a hill in the center of Mount Desert Island, surrounded by fields and views of the mountains. It is on a quiet road that ends in Acadia National Park.
The house was built in the 1820s and renovated and expanded in the 1920s and the 1990s. It is perfect for one or two families, with maximum privacy for each. The house combines the charm of an early farm house with the comfort of a modern vacation home.
The farm has period furnishings, comfortable beds and modern kitchens. There are two modern baths and two baths with claw foot tubs. Two rooms have murals painted in the 1920s.
It is ideal for those looking for a relaxing vacation, surrounded by nature yet close to the towns on the island. Walk to buy organic vegetables at a nearby farm, spend the day at the lake and come home to comfortable, old fashioned rural ambiance.
