Holden Beach is a family friendly, non-commercialized, PERFECT spot for anyone who wants a break from the hectic "real world" and loves the beach. The entire island is rental homes with no hotels to be seen. This allows for families to relax and enjoy the spectacular beach without crowds of people, spring break college crowds, or beach venders to bother you. Holden Beach has several fun restaurants but no fast food or commercial shopping at all. The island is 7 miles long and has bike trails running the entire distance! A short bridge links the island to the mainland where more restaurants, shopping, and nightlife can be found if you like. We are conveniently located approx. 1 mile from the bridge.
Our home looks out to an incredible beach separated only by a sandbar and a one-lane dirt road. The access steps to get over the sandbar are in front of our home! Tides are just perfect and strong enough to ride boogie boards and play in the waves but are easy enough for children to enjoy without fear. We have two decks and the views are amazing. You can enjoy the sunrise to the left... and the sunset to the right. In front of you is nothing but ocean!
We know that pets are very important to us all and we allow a maximum of two dogs per renter. Cats are not allowed due to allergies. An additional non-refundable fee of $125 is required for renters bringing dogs. An easy-access hose and a gated shady deck is a perfect spot for pets to clean up and dry off before coming inside. We appreciate your help in treating the house as your own so we can continue to offer the pets a vacation as well!
Upstairs you will find a master bedroom with a queen bed and a large balcony looking out to the ocean, another bedroom with two twin beds, and a full bathroom. Downstairs is another master with a queen bed and a walk-in closet, a bedroom with two twin beds, and a full bathroom. All bedrooms have their own TVs. The kitchen and family room area have an additional TV and is a nice open space for families to gather. The kitchen is fully furnished with everything you will need... just bring the food! Underneath the house is a two-car concrete parking area that has room to bring a charcoal grill and enjoy a family cookout! There is also a private, warm-water shower on this level to wash off the sand at the end of the day.
We are located 30 min. south of Wilmington where you can tour the amazing USS North Carolina battleship and find many restaurants and shopping areas. To the south is the exciting area of Myrtle Beach where there is so much to do we cannot list it all! If you prefer staying "close to home", right over the bridge is a three-slide water park, two miniature golf courses, go-carts, fun family-owned restaurants, shops, and a grocery store. When our family visits, we rarely go farther than 4 miles away!
