A perfect destination for a relaxing family or romantic getaway, historic Cape Charles is an old railroad and ferry town with a beautiful beachfront, a fishing pier with free access, two marinas, charming streets and magnificent homes, two state-of-the-art golf courses, nearby state parks and a wildlife refuge, as well as fine dining, shopping, and much, much more.
This recently renovated, elegant and bright 1920's Queen Anne home offers an open ground floor with a contemporary kitchen, living and dining spaces, a half-bath and an outdoor shower. The upstairs has a large master bedroom with a queen bed and its own full bath; and two large bedrooms sharing another full bath - one bedroom has a queen bed and a European(extra long)twin bed, and the other bedroom has a large bunk bed, with a double bed at the bottom and a twin bed at the top, and an additional twin extra-long bed.
After a day in the sun at the beach, you can relax at home (it has dual airconditioning and fans throughout), or on the front porch. Or you can sit by the fire in the back yard, in the large and lush Mediterranean garden, among the fruit trees. Pick herbs, Asian pears, artichokes, peaches, tomatoes, or whatever is in season and cook with the different condiments available in the pantry. Lounge on leather sofas and sleep on the beds covered with quality linen, as well as down duvets (in season), all laundered for our guests before their arrival.
The house is centrally located in the Historic District, one block from the tennis courts (with free access) and from the playground in Central Park. Walk to the beach, shop on our charming "Main Street" (Mason Avenue), or at the upscale Marina Villages, enjoy fine dining at the elegant Aqua restaurant and at the different pubs in town, just a stroll away. Or play a game of golf on world-class golf courses just a mile away.

Year Purchased: 2002
For the past seven years, we spent almost every weekend and many vacations in Cape Charles - our children practically grew up here. We hope you too will enjoy it as much as we do.
In the summers, we spent endless hours on the beach, swimming in the calm waters of the Chesapeake Bay, fishing at the pier, and exploring the different nearby wildlife trails. And we spent cozy winters watching the birds in the garden, playing tennis, exploring more trails, playing board games, and reading the many books that fill the shelves.
