Kentucky Derby / Bachelor Party Weekend

A group of us stayed here for a bachelor party and the 2012 Kentucky Derby and absolutely loved it. We wanted a laid back atmosphere and this place was perfect! We got to catch a few fish in the pond and had plenty of room for our nightly poker games. The cabin has a great central location; about 45 mins from Churchill Downs and within a half hour of several distilleries on the Bourbon Trail. Buffalo Trace is a must if you're doing the Bourbon Trail, best tour. I will definitely keep this place in mind for future trips since you could easily fit 15 or more people in this house.

We were very excited to stay here on our annual girls weekend and were not disappointed. The cabin was beautiful the weather fabulous and accomodations were great. We had great fun playing games and relaxing in this pastoral reterat.

Our admissions office came here for our yearly staff retreat! We welcomed new team members and played catch phrase and mad libs. Oh yeah, work was discussed too!

The cabin was clean, well decorated, and stocked with everything we forgot to bring. My friend's and I found that it had plenty of room for 15 people, and it made for a great experience. We are already trying to plan a time we can return.

I have rented the cabin three times first time one day after Thanksgiving 2009, second time Christmas 2010 and the third time was for my nephrew birhtday 2011 weekend before 4th of July we have enjoyed all of the times we have shared at the cabin with all the family it's the best time and the nicest owners to rent from i will always go every year The Coke Family

3rd year we have been here to celebrate our special cousins weekend. The Michigan and Georgia cousins that met with our Kentucky cousins and had lots of food, fun and cheer!

We stayed at Chandler Ridge in August, 2010 for an extended family gathering. We had a total of 19 people. We found the property beautifully maintained and very inviting. The kitchen was fully stocked and very easy to use. There are 3 full levels of living space; plenty of room to spread out. The floor plan is very open. While this fosters a lot of family time, it can also be very loud. The owners were more than helpful answering our questions and making sure that all systems were operating well. We would definitely recommend to others as well as return if possible.

The cabin is so cute! We came in very late at night and were so thrilled to see how pretty it was. Hopefully, we will be back again. The internet pictures do not do it justice.

Awesome! We loved the view of the pond and the trails down to the creek. We had so much fun playing air hockey and pool. It was a wonderful experience.

I would like to let people know that if you are going with more than one couple you should reconsider. There is only one real bedroom. The other two bedrooms are bunk beds and rollaways only. The cabin was full of ladybugs and wasps. My grandaughter was stung in her sleep. I was very unhappy. There was no game console as listed on the website. The satellite is limited to only two of the four tvs in the cabin. No satellite in the master bedroom. The tv in this room is for DVD use only. Also, the surround sound is present but isn't hooked up. There were lots of broken decorations inside and out. My stay was even discounted because of last minute reservation and the price was not a bargain compared to most cabins I've previously stayed in.
Owner response:We were saddened to hear after 6 years of being in business we had our first negative response to our cabin. Unfortunately, the timing of the ladybugs was not good for these guests. Our cabin is solid log throughout including walls and ceilings so in the spring when things start to come alive, we do have ladybugs. We do treat for them but try to keep chemical use down. As far as the wasps, this was addressed as soon as I saw this review. There are 3 bedrooms in the cabin one has a King bed, the rest are twin beds as the cabin sleeps up to 25. We have had many couples retreats there and most find it fun to gather together as a group. As tv is not a big part of a getaway for most people we did not find it necessary to have satellite to all tv's. We did have a game console but it was broken and I have now removed it from the list of amenities. I have been to the cabin and found no broken decorations except for a ceramic frog in the landscaping. Occassionally, we will do a discount for guests who claim hardship as we want to be accessible for all families wanting to spend quality time together. If you are considering Chandler Ridge, please feel free to contact me with any questions about our cabin, we'd love to have you visit.
