This is a gorgeous private mountain chalet built with huge timbers and a massive rock fireplace. The views of the North Animas Valley and surrounding mountains are incredible! This private chalet is only 1 mile from the Durango city limits on the way to the ski resort. The county road is very quiet and great for jogging, walking, road and mountain biking.
To the east next to the property line is the Animas rock climbing area, great for technical rock climbing or easy hiking. It's fun to watch the rock climbers as they appear very small like ants on the sheer cliff face. To the West across the Animas River is the beautiful Animas Mountain. The city of Durango can be partially seen off in the distance and the San Juan mountains are to the North.
The property is very private as there are hugh horse ranches in the valley and acres of public land East of the property. Majestic Ponderosa Pine trees surrounding the house and abundant wildlife viewing will add to your enjoyment. There are many attractions for a visitor to enjoy such as Mesa Verde National Park only 30 minutes away and Skiing only 20 minutes away. This spectacular property overlooks the Animas River Valley.
