We are on the corner of Sandyland Road and Elm St. in the La Cabana complex, just across the street from the beach-
We take meticulous care of this condo and furnish it as we would our own home, as we like to stay here at times ourselves.
Our unit is a completely and beautifully renovated 2 bdrm condo in quiet complex- Pergo floors, granite counter tops, newly painted sky blue, new tile bathroom floor. It is full of light, and is peaceful and comfortable.
You can walk across the street to Carpinteria Beach, one of the loveliest, cleanest beaches at the South Central Coast.
We have a heated swimming pool at complex (May through October), beautiful landscaping, gas grill, and the complex is meticulously maintained.
The wildlife refuge is a short walk and has excellent birding. The seal rookery is down the beach. Dolphins and whales swim offshore. Carpinteria is a lovely beachside town with good restaurants, shops, parks, artists' shops, antique stores, and palm tree lined streets.
Santa Barbara is 15 minutes up Rt. 101, with many family activities and attractions: shops; zoo; botanical gardens; bike paths; watersports, art museum, natural history museum . Summerland is a great nearby town for antiquing and many wineries are nearby.

We absolutely loved the apartment and the condo complex! The unit was clean, tastefully furnished, fully stocked and all beds were comfortable and had nice linens. The pool was still heated and super warm in October and it was warm enough to BBQ downstairs every night. We brought our two kids (almost 3 years and 5 months) and it worked out perfectly. The older one got the second bedroom and the baby either slept on our bed or - when we were using the master - in a very nice large pack n' play that was at the condo in the hallway by the front door. So everyone got some good sleep! The apartment is right above the pool, so we brought our baby monitors and when the kids were sleeping, we could hang out in the sun and didn't have to sneak around the apartment. There are TONS of things to do with kids in Carpinteria and Santa Barbara. The highlight was taking Amtrak one morning to Santa Barbara and then visiting the museum at the wharf. The zoo in SB is also fantastic! My older one loved the amazing playground just a few blocks from the apartment as well as the book store on Linden Avenue. Amy (the property manager) even hooked us up with a GREAT babysitter so we got to go on a date night to our favorite "fancy" restaurant GiannFrancos on Linden Avenue. All in all, it could have NOT been a better vacation and we will definitely come back!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children.

I am excited to write a review having just returned from Carpenteria with three other women. The condo was very clean and very nicely furnished. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was great. The location is ideal. The pool is directly out the door and the beach is steps away. We met many of the residents of the complex. They were all very nice and friendly. There were great spaces with lounge chairs outside by the pool or tables to gather around. Everything is within walking distance. We walked to the grocery store and to shops and restaurants. We loved The Spot one block away. We also loved Zookers restaurant and Gianfrancos. We went into Santa Barbara to see the sights but we were very happy we stayed in Carpenteria. It is a charming, laid back beach town. We liked the beach in Carpenteria much better than Santa Barbara. It took only minutes to get to Santa Barbara or Montecito. We went on a wine tour to Santa Ynez Valley with EOS Tours. They picked us up at our door. It was fabulous and reasonably priced. The communication with Amy, the owner of the condo was wonderful and helpful.The condo is nicer than the photos. There is free wifi, the kitchen has all you need, great towels, linens, beach chairs and boogie boards. I am sure we will come back for another visit.Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

Condo was very comfortable for our family of four. Proximity to beach, shops and restaurants was great. Everything within walking distance. Our family especially enjoyed the delicious food at Tony's restaurant just down the street. We also rented wet suits from a surf shop near by for the kids to use at the beach. We were even able to see dolphins swimming. The pool was a nice addition when the kids wanted to go for a quick swim. The other residents of the condo complex were very friendly as were people we met going for walks in the area. Condo manager Amy was wonderful to work with. Our family would stay here again and we would recommend this condo to family and friends.Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

What a fabulous condo and vacation getaway. Every detail covered. Comfortable, clean, bright, modern and quiet. Steps from beach, walked to everything downtown, all within a few short blocks.Farmers market on Thursday, wonderful fresh produce, fruit and local wares. Property manager Amy very quick on responses/communication and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend this property and location. First and foremost let me say Amy the property manager is one of the best in the business. She was very efficient, quick to respond and went above and beyond to ensure our vacation was just as described - so THANK YOU AMY! The owners of this condo truly decorated the place beautifully. The condo was thoughtfully stocked and organized and I appreciated all of it!!! Truly all we had to bring was our stuff and food. The photos did not lie and the home was beautiful and well maintained. One thing I did appreciate even more was the fact that the condo's and the property was up-dated and very clean and for the most part kid friendly. We walked barefoot 1 block to the beach daily and had a blast! My husband is from Carpinteria so we knew this place was perfectly located. We have 2 small children and were able to walk into town, the park and the beach several times a day. THANK YOU for having such great place for us to make some more family memories!!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children.

Had it not been for our nephew's wedding at Carpenteria, we never would have happened on such a wonderful condo! We were close to everything we needed. It was a great base for our extended stay before and after the wedding! The condo was very clean and comfortable with all the extras to make one feel at home. With the mountains on one side; the ocean on the other; and the pool in between: the views were excellent. We certainly would recommend a stay in Carpenteria and hope to make another trip back to this same property. We certainly enjoyed our stay!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

This was a very comfortable, clean, new condo. Well equipped with everything one could want for a week at the beach, which is just minutes down the road.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

We're thoroughly enjoyed our stay in mid-July. The condo is very clean, comfortable, and modern. It is also very well equipped; great kitchen, beach towels/toys/chairs/cooler, et. al. My husband, 2 1/2 year old son, and I found it met our every need. It is the perfect walking location to the beach, town, playground, and salt marsh park. Thanks for a great stay!Recommended for: Families with young children.

About the owner: We live in Santa Barbara, and love the beautiful climate and outdoors we are fortunate to enjoy. We moved here from the Boston area, so it's especially nice in the winter. We have 3 boys, a youngest daughter, and all of us love coming to Carpinteria and going to the beach when we get down to our condo!
Why the Owner Chose Carpinteria:
We loved the town of Carpinteria at first sight. It has a small town, community feeling, and reminded us a little of New England. We enjoy the tall palms lining the streets, expansive beaches, local shops of all kinds, warm breezes, and relaxed and friendly people. We live up in 101 in Santa Barbara but come to Carpinteria regularly because we enjoy it. There are many places to explore: wetland preserve, seal rookery, enormous greenhouses (see the orchids). The foothills are also fun to explore.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Our condo is in a small complex, La Cabana, across the street from Carpinteria Beach. Most of the condos are owner occupied, so it does not feel like the usual vacation resort. We overlook the courtyard from our second floor unit. We can go out the door in the morning, and walk on the beach in the early light or go for a swim. A short walk away is the Spot, a great local hamburger place, and in the other direction is the wetland marsh preserve. From our unit you can hear the ocean and feel the onshore breeze.
