We are on the corner of Sandyland Road and Elm St. in the La Cabana complex, just across the street from the beach-
4880 Sandyland Road. We take meticulous care of this condo and furnish it as we would our own home, as we like to stay here at times ourselves.
Our unit is a completely and beautifully renovated 2 bdrm condo in quiet complex- Pergo floors, granite countertops, newly painted sky blue, new tile bathroom floor. It is full of light, and is peaceful and comfortable. You can walk across the street to Carpinteria Beach, one of the loveliest, cleanest beaches at the South Central Coast. We have a heated swimming pool at complex (May through September), beautiful landscaping, gas grill, and the complex is meticulously maintained.
The wildlife refuge is a short walk and has excellent birding. The seal rookery is down the beach. Dolphins and whales swim offshore. Carpinteria is a lovely beachside town with good restaurants, shops, parks, artists' shops, antique stores, and palm tree lined streets.
Santa Barbara is 15 minutes up Rt. 101, with many family activities and attractions: shops; zoo; botanical gardens; bike paths; watersports, art museum, natural history museum . Summerland is a great nearby town for antiquing and many wineries are nearby.

Why the Owner Chose Carpinteria
We loved the town of Carpinteria at first sight. It has a small town, community feeling, and reminded us a little of New England. We enjoy the tall palms lining the streets, expansive beaches, local shops of all kinds, warm breezes, and relaxed and friendly people. We live up in 101 in Santa Barbara but come to Carpinteria regularly because we enjoy it. There are many places to explore: wetland preserve, seal rookery, enormous greenhouses (see the orchids). The foothills are also fun to explore.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
Our condo is in a small complex, La Cabana, across the street from Carpinteria Beach. Most of the condos are owner occupied, so it does not feel like the usual vacation resort. We overlook the courtyard from our second floor unit. We can go out the door in the morning, and walk on the beach in the early light or go for a swim. A short walk away is the Spot, a great local hamburger place, and in the other direction is the wetland marsh preserve. From our unit you can hear the ocean and feel the onshore breeze.
Many local small restaurants, shops, galleries along this main street. Great walking street. We recommend Oaxaca Fresh, a really good Mexican restaurant.

We live in Santa Barbara, and love the beautiful climate and outdoors we are fortunate to enjoy. We moved here from the Boston area, so it's especially nice in the winter. We have 3 boys, a youngest daughter, and all of us love coming to Carpinteria and going to the beach when we get down to our condo!

First and foremost let me say Amy the property manager is one of the best in the business. She was very efficient, quick to respond and went above and beyond to ensure our vacation was just as described - so THANK YOU AMY! The owners of this condo truly decorated the place beautifully. The condo was thoughtfully stocked and organized and I appreciated all of it!!! Truly all we had to bring was our stuff and food. The photos did not lie and the home was beautiful and well maintained. One thing I did appreciate even more was the fact that the condo's and the property was up-dated and very clean and for the most part kid friendly. We walked barefoot 1 block to the beach daily and had a blast! My husband is from Carpinteria so we knew this place was perfectly located. We have 2 small children and were able to walk into town, the park and the beach several times a day. THANK YOU for having such great place for us to make some more family memories!!!

Had it not been for our nephew's wedding at Carpenteria, we never would have happened on such a wonderful condo! We were close to everything we needed. It was a great base for our extended stay before and after the wedding! The condo was very clean and comfortable with all the extras to make one feel at home. With the mountains on one side; the ocean on the other; and the pool in between: the views were excellent. We certainly would recommend a stay in Carpenteria and hope to make another trip back to this same property. We certainly enjoyed our stay!

We're thoroughly enjoyed our stay in mid-July. The condo is very clean, comfortable, and modern. It is also very well equipped; great kitchen, beach towels/toys/chairs/cooler, et. al. My husband, 2 1/2 year old son, and I found it met our every need. It is the perfect walking location to the beach, town, playground, and salt marsh park. Thanks for a great stay!

We are a family of four that has visited Carp almost every year for the past 15. We have family in Santa Barbara. This was our first time at this property and it was great! Great beach access, kitchen with all the necessary "tools", a clean and comfortable place to relax, and great pool and bbq area to spread out. We wouldn't change a thing! Just a few exits on the hwy and you are in Santa Barbara. Our favorite Carp traditions - The Spot, the farmers market, beach sunsets, and breakfast at the Cajun Kitchen! Already looking forward to our next visit.

We stayed with are small children (9 months and 2 years). We had a great time. We were glad there was a heated pool. The place is decorated really nice and not full of clutter. The unit is upstairs but it is the first one. Parking and check in/out was easy. TV in the master too. The only thing we even joked about changing was the pad toilet seat cover! :) Linden St is so close so there is food and shopping within walking distance. My husbnad would highly recommend Ginnfranco on Linden.

Since our first stay, we were and are very impressed by the size of the unit, the decor, the good value for our vacation budget. Although there are many rentals in Carpinteria, we don't bother to look at others. We love the beach, the Spot, the estuary (love to go right before sunset to bird watch), and the farmer's market on Thursday!! We become professional bums on our vacation here. A family could fly in/ take the train in, and find all that they need to enjoy the beach and town supplied in this unit. Thanks to the owners for keeping things just the way they should be.

I was worried about the size when I read it online. However, we had 4 adults needing three separate beds and two young children and we were completely comfortable! The space is perfectly set up and there is a lot of natural light. They have done a beautiful job remodeling! They just added a fold-out bed, which was awesome for us. It is steps from the beach and is on the end of the unit upstairs, so you don't have to worry as much about being too loud OR about others being too loud. Carpinteria is our old "stomping ground" and it always feels like home to us. If you've never been to Carpinteria, I would HIGHLY recommend it- even over Santa Barbara. There is SO much to do and you can walk/ride bikes everywhere from this location. The manager of the building was nice and helped us find a tool we needed. The woman who runs the rental was wonderful and answered every question we had. She made us feel very at home and was only a phone call away.

Not only did I enjoy painting in the Carpinteria area, this condo offered the ideal location for me to enjoy the beach and the town while having easy access to 101 and other nearby sites. The condo was comfortably furnished, had comfortable beds, and a kitchen well stocked with appliances and cooking necessities. Another very important thing to mention is how quiet it was in the condo complex, made for a peaceful sleep. The property manager was friendly and offered helpful information when it was needed. This is a walkable town. From the condo, I walked all over town and well as the short walk to the beach. I will definitely stay there again if the opportunity arises.

We spent the month of January, location was convenient, an easy stroll to the beach and town. It's also conveniently located to the sights of Santa Barbara. The complex was quiet and well maintained, the unit was cozy and comfortable, probably best suited to a couple or a small family. Amy, the property manager, was great about emailing answers to our questions before arrival, and was very responsive while we were on site. Carp is a quaint little town. We had great dinner at Gianfranco's Trattoria, and went to Jack's Bistro twice and Oaxaca Fresh 3 times with visitors! Of course, we couldn't miss the local burger hangout, The Spot! All in all, a great stay, and we would consider renting there again!
