Le Petit Rêve, a traditional village home near Carcassonne in the wine-growing Languedoc region, provides you with a comfortable home base while you explore the beauty and simplicity of the French countryside.
Situated in a small hillside village at the edge of the Minervois wine appellation, Le Petit Rêve offers easy access to the region's best tourist sites, restaurants, Mediterranean beaches - and of course, to the Languedoc's vineyards and wineries.
Le Petit Rêve is approximately 150 years old, and has stone walls, ceiling beams, shuttered windows, and terra cotta tile floors typical of the region's village homes.
The front door of the house leads directly into the large (17 ft x 15 ft) kitchen/dining room, equipped with a fireplace, a stereo/CD player, coffee maker, and ample cooking equipment.
The winding staircase leads to the bedroom (10 ft x 14 ft) with a king-sized bed and very large oak armoire, and decorated with watercolor paintings, antique maps and photographs. The armoire holds a large supply of bed linens, towels and extra pillows, as well as an iron and ironing board.
Right next to the bedroom is the bathroom (10 ft x 7 ft) with modern porcelain fixtures, including a large bathtub with shower hose. On the home's top floor, there is a small bedroom and adjoining spare room, which can sleep 2 people.
A French couple who live around the corner are available for key delivery and drop-off, and general advice about the village and sightseeing.
