Villa Rocchetta is located 1 km above the charming seaside town of Lerici in the Montemarcello National Park and overlooks the magnificent Gulf of Poets. The once olive oil “frantoio” has recently been restored and is equipped with all kinds of modern comforts yet still keeps its rustic charm with wood beamed ceilings and stone façade. The villa has four floors and is fenced in with a verdant garden. There are unobstructed & enchanting views of the Bay of La Spezia, Portovenere along with the islands of Palmaria and Tino.

A description of the house is as follows...

You enter the home from the second floor where there is a sitting room with TV (currently Italian stations only), DVD player, CD player, and a large arch window overlooking the bay. In addition, there is a small bedroom/study with a single bed. There is also access to a sunning terrace from where you can also marvel in the panoramic views.

The lower floor consists of a dining room, the living room with large flat screen TV, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower and access to a second covered porch leading out to two gardens.

The third floor has a second bathroom with bathtub/shower combo and a laundry room.

There are "2" fourth floors: one set of stairs leads up to a double bedroom (can be made into twin beds) with small terrace and the other stairs leading up to the “mansarda” (attic floor) where there is the master bedroom with sea views.

The autostrada can be reached in less than 10 minutes and there are several nearby interesting villages and towns to visit including San Terenzo, Tellaro, Montemarcello, Sarzana, Castelnuovo Magra and La Spezia. Portovenere and Le Cinque Terre are just a short boat ride away from the port in Lerici. It is the perfect base for exploring Liguria, NW Tuscany and beyond…

*Note, the house adheres to its original structure dating back over 300 years. There are numerous stairways in the house that are quite thin and steep, and a few do not have rope instead of railings making the home not suitable for children under the age of 10 or elderly adults.

  • We recently had the pleasure of staying at Villa Rocchetta in Lerici for 7 days. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. Since returning from our trip, the house gets talked about just as much as the towns we saw and the meals we ate. It was absolutely part of the experience. On many occasions we rushed home so we could watch the sunset from the balcony. They are that incredible! The town and the bay stretch out in front of you like a giant quilt. You feel like you are levitating over it all. Just a great house, great location ( near everything in Liguria ), beautiful landscaping and the property manager ( Megan of Bella Vita Italia ) was so nice and so helpful, and the info that she supplied took the guess work out of where to go or where to eat. We want to stay again and next time bring friends.

  • The perfect home away from home! Villa Rocchetta offers the most stunning views of the Bay of Poets...we ate in 3 out of 4 nights just to soak in the view!! Spacious, beautifully appointed, unique & comfortable....the villa was a wonderful place to spend our family vacation. Easy access to Lerici, Portovenere & the Cinque Terre made this an excellent location to base our stay on the Ligurian coast. Our travel consultant Megan McCaffrey (BellaVita Italia) was one of the best reasons to book the villa - her responsiveness, insight into the area and delightful excursions were well worth it! A highly recommended place to stay.

  • Our stay in your wonderful villa was the favorite part of our trip to Italy. We arrived late and hungry to a surprise in the fridge of olives, rustic bread, fresh cherries, prosciutto and wine. We sat on the porch with candles, our feast and an awesome moonlit view of the harbor. What a way to begin our stay! It is a beautiful villa with breathtaking views and easy access to several villages. Very romantic -- our son proposed to his future wife while here! We loved every minute and plan to return. Thank you for all your help -- you made it very easy.
