Named a resort of distinction by Resort Condominiums International, Deer Park Resort provides a beautiful, well-kept vacation destination in the heart of New Hampshire’s White Mountains. Just minutes away from the famous Franconia Notch, the heritage spot of the “Old Man of the Mountains” and surrounded by National Forest lands, this expansive 62 acre campus was the site of one of New England’s grand old nineteenth century hotels. The site now boasts a 5 acre spring fed lake with a sand beach and a large recreation center with an indoor pool, a sauna, newly renovated locker rooms with showers, a weight room and exercise machine room, two racquetball courts, a game room, a large TV and rental video viewing room, a pool table, and a comfortable lounge with an open fire place. High quality tennis courts are spread throughout the grounds.
Nearby, the towns of Lincoln and North Woodstock, gateways to the scenic Kancamagus Highway, provide activities and entertainment that range from adventurous to self-indulgent. The area offers outdoor experiences like hiking, swimming, horseback riding, golf, fishing, rock climbing, and biking. Miles of paved bike trails in Franconia Notch and Lincoln access the scenic forests. For the less active, there is site-seeing, shopping, miniature golf, and dining for all tastes including steaks, seafood, vegetarian, ethnic, pub food, pizza and fast food. Visit the many family attractions including the Mt. Washington Cog Railway, gondola rides on Loon and Cannon Mountains, the Hobo Railroad, Clark’s Trading Post, Whale’s Tail Water Park, Lost River Gorge, Boulder Caves, the Flume and Basin, Indian Head, Boise Rock, or be treated to a guided wildlife tour. The popular Squam and Winnipesaukee Lakes may be reached within a half hour drive. After hours, nearby night spots cater to a variety of ages and musical preferences.
Our spacious corner unit condominium feels like a wonderful “home away from home” after a busy day. From the bedroom balconies sit and watch the clear Pemigewasset River rush past over smooth boulders and cobble. A full kitchen with an oven, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, double sink, and dishwasher offers convenient meal preparation for thrifty vacationers. All utensils, dish sets, and pots and pans are provided. An adjacent dining area seats up to six at the table and a couple at the bar. In the living room are an easy chair and couch (a fold-out for sleeping two), a 32 inch color TV, DVD and VCR player, and a gas fireplace. Off the dining/living areas are two large bedrooms; each assigned a full bath with tub and shower. The master bedroom contains a comfortable queen size bed while the bath area has a wide sink, mirrored dressing space and a Jacuzzi tub. The second bedroom includes two twin beds. Both bedrooms have large closets and private access to their own balconies with scenic views of the grounds. Within steps of the front door are barbeque grills and picnic tables for a camping flavor. Children can safely ride bikes or play outdoors on the grounds.

Year Purchased: 2008
Living on the coast of Maine, we work and play near the rugged beauty of this rocky shoreline. But having been hikers and campers for most of our lives we also sought refuge in the New Hampshire Mountains on weekends or during vacations. In 2008 we finally had the financial ability to purchase this lovely quarter share condominium which offers year round activities in the heart of the White Mountains in the Franconia Notch area. Although we use the unit as many weeks as we can, our work does limit vacation time and we choose to rent at least half the annual weeks we own.
Why the Owner Chose Lincoln
Deer Park Resort is classy and beautiful. It sits among the tallest mountains in the eastern half of the country. The grounds and buildings are clean, well maintained, and managed with courtesy and friendliness. We were drawn to this site despite the advertisements of many other condominium units nearby.
The Unique Benefits of this Condominium
As described in the opening paragraphs of this listing, our unit is easily accessible with no inside stairs, is a corner unit for maximum natural light in the rooms, and can comfortably feed and sleep up to six people. But with so many local outdoor activities, you may seldom see the inside of the unit except to leisurely spend your evenings relaxing.
