The Brenden House is a charming, comfortable and convenient house close to Ashland's plaza in a residential neighborhood. The MAIN, on the ground floor, can accommodate up to 8 people. Add the Loft upstairs, with it's private entrance, to accommodate up to 11.
The MAIN has 2 bedrooms with queen beds and 1 with 2 twin beds. There are 2.5 baths. Sleep 6 in beds and 2 on the hide-a-bed couch. The large kitchen has a full size dining table with ample seating for 8.
For smaller groups contact us about renting just one or two of the bedrooms, or the Loft upstairs.

During the winter months, the MAIN is available for weekly and/or monthly rentals. A refundable security deposit of $1200 and a cleaning deposit of $300 is required. Call for details.

The Brenden House Loft

This is the fifth rental we have procured from VRBO, and this by far is the worst. The entrance stairway was occluded with hanging branches from overgrown trees which made it difficult to come and go especially at night. Stairway not lit therefore one needs a flashlight at night to get up the stairway. The listing listed a phone /answering machine. We could not find the phone or answering machine in the entire place. The TV remote did not work, There was a VHS machine but no videos. The light bulb was out on the front deck area and in the bedroom. There was dirt and mold in the corners of the bathroom. There was no information in the loft regarding the area, things to do , restaurants etc. as we have experienced with other VRBO rentals. No instructions in the Loft about running the place. If we had not downloaded it prior to leaving, we would not have know their instructions. The overall place looks as if it was furnished from Goodwill (and that's not the good stuff one rarely finds there). Its stated a mere 7 blocks to theater area. We found it to be a bit longer and ended up having to drive into town (though parking was not bad once there) No instructions for operating the air conditioner either. The photos enhanced this place and it did not appear as represented in the on line photos. Do not recommend this place. Spend a few extra dollars and stay closer in.
Owner response:Fortunately, the Brenden House Main is not the property these folks stayed in. The Main is a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath flat on ground level. I can understand that if they were expecting the Main and booked the Loft, 1 bedroom upstairs, that they would be surprised. The Loft is a lovely one bedroom sanctuary surrounded by trees which enhance the feeling of privacy. The lights on the pathway do go out periodically. They have been replaced with solar lights, so the light on the path is not dependent on a bulb. The pictures on the website show the furniture clearly, so there should not have been any confusion there. The trees are trimmed to enhance the feeling of privacy, which most guests love. Information on the flat and its amenities is emailed to our guest well in advance of their arrival. I don't provide a phone or video movies, and don't claim to, nor do I provide information on area activities. They are available from a multitude of sources online. I am sorry they had a bad stay.
