I wanted to thank you for the use of your home during our family summer vacation this past August. It is a beautiful place; very warm, comfortable and well maintained. In fact, it felt like we had been invited to stay at a friend’s permanent home. It was absolutely perfect in size and layout for our large clan of three generations. It is definitely set up to give multiple families as much (or as little) privacy as they want. Everyone truly enjoyed our time together; the grandbabies and their parents swam off the dock and caught a whole "mess" of fish; the biggest being ~ 18" bass (all released back). We laughed, had s'mores at the firepit and played board games around the large dining room table. We played Bags/Bocci/baseball/basketball on the huge lawn and driveway in front of the house. Moms got away to shop and the Dads golfed nearby. In short, it provided us an excellent summer get-away for making many, many memories. Thanks again for it’s use. We look forward to returning next year.

Owner response: Thank you so much for your wonderful comments on our home. We are always so happy to hear that our guests enjoyed their stay. We put so much time, energy and effort into making our home a place where you will want to come back to again and again. We want it to be the way we would expect it to be if we were entertaining our own family and friends. We know people work so very hard and this is their time off to relax, have a bit of peace and spend time with the people they love. We hope we are providing a little bit of that at The Delavan Lake Home. Thank you again, you made my day!!!!!
We had high expectations for our stay at the Delavan Lake Home. There were MANY small problems that led to overall disappointment. I will only list a few of them: the storm door on the front of the house did not latch, letting it blow in the wind. The side door onto the deck was enmeshed in cobwebs. We could not use the dining room table for games in the evening because the light attracted flying ants. The coffee pot took over 30 minutes to make a 12-cup pot of coffee. The kitchen was very poorly equipped. We had to make an "emergency" run to Walmart the first morning because we didn't have even one spare roll of toilet paper. We arrived on Saturday, but the dock did not have the ladder installed until Tuesday, making it a little tough, to say the least, to get out of the lake. I called two of the numbers given to me to ask for help, and left messages, but neither call was returned. It was not cheap to stay here, so as I said, we were disappointed.

Owner response: I am very shocked and extremely disappointed by your comments. I am shocked because you checked out on July 6th and today, September 16th, you have submitted a review. First of all I can't understand why you could not reach any of us. You actually had 3 phone numbers. We are extremely prompt, efficient and take great pride in our beautiful lake home. If my husband or I cannot help a guest we actually have 4 different people as our back ups. We would never ever ignore our guest. Just so you know there is normally not a ladder attached to our pier but because you said you would like one we purchased one and had our repair person install it for you. I did not know until reading your review today that this was not available to you immediately. Possibly the repair company was busy on other jobs. The summer is the busiest time on the lake. As for the coffee pot, screen door and cob webs we will have to have our repair person check on this. We have not had a single complaint until today about these items. If there were "flying ants" by the light in the evening that could have been avoided by making sure all doors are closed when entering and leaving the home. I know that is hard to do with small children but if it is very bothersome then you must be vigilant with all of the doors and there are 5 on the first floor. There are three bathrooms with one roll of toilet paper on each dispenser and one roll in each cabinet under each sink. This was listed on the contract that you signed. I wish while you were at the home we could have discussed any concerns you had. We would have gone the extra mile to make sure you were happy with everything. When we open our home up to guest we do it with great pride and hospitality. We do know we cannot make every person happy but we certainly try too.
Beautiful & Relaxing
Beautiful & Relaxing
My family and extended family had a great time this summer up in Delavan. The house was beautiful. A huge kitchen to cook in, a nice grill to barbeque on, three dining areas inside and one outside overlooking the lake. Plenty of room to relax – in the family room, the sun room overlooking the lake, the deck, the pier, or the lower deck. If you just need to get away, choose one of 5 bedrooms or jump in the car to take a drive to one of the many close destinations or take a walk along the lake on the path. It was soooo relaxing. I slept great and felt reenergized. Such a gorgeous house, it was hard to leave the beauty and peace. I will definitely go back.

Beautiful Lake Home
Beautiful Lake Home
My family has spent our last 3 summer vacations at this home. That is about 15 of us from ages 2 - 75. We love it!! It is a great place for any age to have fun and relax. There is a pier with space to pull up a rental boat, great for the kids. Then there's a bonfire pit for night time s'mores, a beautiful deck to gril on and enjoy the amazing view of the lake. There are grocery stores within a 5 minute drive and some restaurants/bars within walking distance. The downtown area of Lake Geneva is also close, about a 10-15 minute drive. The house was fully equipped with enough towels, sheets, blankets, dishes, just about any necessity. We plan to make another trip there this coming summer, I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great place for family fun! :)

One of the best family vacations ever!!!
One of the best family vacations ever!!!
I stayed at The Delavan Lake Home for one week with my parents, husband, three children, one sister, her husband, two children, my brother, his wife and their 3 children. It was one of the best vacations we ever had!!! The home is beautiful and very clean! It is also very large and was well able to accommodate all of us with ease. We loved the wide open views of the lake which you could clearly see from the sunroom, dining room, family room kitchen and even the mud room! There was also a large deck with beautiful furniture and a gas grill. We really enjoyed grilling and eating on the deck as the boats were passing by! We loved walking along the lake in the morning and the evenings with the kids. There was plenty to do and the guys caught a lot of fish right from the pier! We were only minutes a way from Down Town Delavan and Lake Geneva. We were able to tie our boat up to the homes pier too. One evening we took the boat across the lake to The Village Restaurant. The kids got a kick out of taking a boat to a restaurant instead of a car! The cost was very minimal especially when split between all of us. A hotel would have cost a fortune plus we would have been separated by hotel rooms. We are booked again for this summer and cant wait to get back to Delavan Lake!!

I rented this house for a family reunion last year and was very happy with it. The house is a great location on a nice stretch of lake delavan. This was our first trip to the area, so we weren't too familiar with it but we picked well. Loved the walking trail going around the lake and how quite the place was. The fire pit and docks were our favorite hangout places, but the inside of the house was nice too. The was plenty of parking too which was nice. The only negative that I can think of was the rental process was a bit more of a pain than previous places I've rented from VBRO with the owner wanting all payments in cashier's check/money order and wanting all the tenants info but it was well worth it in the end because the place was really nice and a great deal so I would gladly go thru that again.
