While it is private, cozy, and secluded, this home also has beautiful mountain views year-round -- come cool off in the summer, see the beautiful leaves in the fall, cozy up in the winter and see the awesome stars, or gaze at the gorgeous spring Rhodedendrons and more. This wonderful home is very close to many fun attractions including Beech, Sugar and Hawksnest for skiing and tubing, Grandfather Mountain, The Blowing Rock, Blue Ridge Parkway, Watauga Lake, Tweetsie Railroad, Mast General Store, golf - and more! Adlerhorst is fully furnished and equipped with everything you'll need in the kitchen and beyond. The game room/office offers a plethora of board games, and toys. Bring your laptop and enjoy the wireless access.

The king master bedroom boasts a "spa shower experience" - dual shower heads with sprayers and extra heat when you step out - you've got to try it! Also luxury bedding with double microplush pillowtop mattress and a big closet/dressing area are here for your peaceful enjoyment.

Upstairs, "The Fuji room" is themed around the great Mount Fuji in Japan and has a comfy queen bed plus a queen air mattress should you need extra sleeping space, as well as a TV with DirectTV and a large walk-in closet.

Also upstairs, "Camp Eagle" has two full beds to accommodate 4 more people, and a twin air mattress along with a TV with DirectTV and a DVD player, plus a clock radio with a CD player.

All bathrooms have Egyptian cotton towels, and there are lots of items for babies and kids.

The large deck is a great place to sit and look at the views, the stars, and hear the tranquility of the water rushing down the mountain. Well-behaved, well-groomed pets are welcome.

  • I hosted a weekend Yoga Retreat this summer at Adlerhorst for 6 students and found the home to be a peaceful getaway for our gathering. Accomodations were comfortable, kitchen is extremely easy to navigate and the views are exceptional. will plan to return soon!

  • It was a wonderful place, away from the hustle and bustle (even of Boone)! On Friday night we laid down on the grass to look at the stars. The Milky Way was phenomenal - I haven't seen it that well since we were at the Grand Canyon several years ago. We saw meteors, satellites, as well as re-learned our summer constellations. On Saturday afternoon and evening we mostly just sat on the porch, talked, and enjoyed the cool air. By 8:30 or so everyone was putting on jackets or covering up with a blanket - a great difference from Cary. The beds were great, the kitchen as well, and we even turned the big-screen TV on for a few minutes - but we really just enjoyed the peace and quiet. Thanks so much for making the cabin available to us - I'm sure that we will want to visit again in the future.

  • The 'double-pillowtop' bed in the master bedroom was so comfortable, we called the owners to ask where they got the mattress! They have been very friendly and helpful. Great TV, well-equipped kitchen, great shower, convenient to all the nearby things to do. We'll definitely be back to this beautiful, peaceful location!

  • Very nice house with beautiful views. The cabin comfortably accommodated eight house guests. The master shower is awesome after a day of skiing. If you need an extra room, an air mattress can be moved into the office for extra privacy--possible fourth bedroom option.
