Villa Galante, with its spectacular views of the sea, is located in a quiet green area approximately 800 meters from the busy village center. It is the perfect place to relax and let the beauty of the sea replenish and restore. The house has been completely restored, but each room in the house contain several Sicilian antiques that recall the rustic origins of what once was a family winery (as verified by the local goat herder a spry 90 year old who was born there) . Today the family kitchen stands where the wine vats once were and the owners bottle their wine (complimentary bottle to guests) on the ground floor. The one bedroom apartment includes private bath, full kitchen, living room (with fireplace) and a large terrace with panoramic view of the sea.
For those needing more space, inquire if the two upstairs bedrooms are available (they are connected to the apartment by an inner staircase).
It is only a few minutes’ walk to the center of world renowned Taormina whose Greek and Roman ruins have been praised by authors and poets throughout the centuries. Taormina was also the site of the first Sicilian parliament and offers many examples of Sicilian Baroque 17th century architecture. There are small museums that provide information that help in understanding the complex cultural heritage.
Today the village of Taormina offers a surprising number of good cafes, restaurants and shops. (With regard to restaurants, the locals love them too so ask Michael to reserve for dinner).
It is only an additional 100 meters to the cable car/funivia that will take you down to the beach where you can enjoy the incredible blue and turquoise water and many wonderful seafood restaurants. In fact "foodies" will complain that there isn't enough time to sample all the fine restaurants. There are several free beaches or private beach clubs (with paid entrance) to choose from.
Near Taormina are some of the best examples of Greek and Roman ruins in Sicily ( some historians say that they are among the best in the world). Many interesting itineraries can be planned using Taormina as a departure point.

The apartment has a very large private terrace with a sea view . The floors are all of antiqued pink Verona marble. The living room and connected kitchen have a sea view through the terrace doors. There is a corner fireplace, sofa /hide abed, dining room table, TV and Wi-Fi computer connection.. The kitchen is fully equipped including a large freezer to store our great Sicilian gelato. There is a breakfast counter with 2 bar stools. Proceeding down the hall you come to the full size bath room with an extra large shower all in white Sicilian tile. The bedroom has an antique painted dresser, wardrobe and queen size bed. This seems to be a magical bedroom even insomniacs say they sleep well.

I meet Rose in 1990 while I was teaching in Sicily and have been here for the last 20 years. Sicily is truly a magical place and great for your health. I recommend it to everyone.
Our apartment is part of our home, and we lived in the apartment while the rest of the house was being built.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
We have an outstanding view of the sea and across to the "Continent" as we say here. We are 220 meters above the sea and in a quiet neighborhood. It is a 10 minute drive down to the sea and the water on this side of the island is exceptional. We are on the lea side of the island so swimming is easier here than on other sides of the island. Villa Galante is a 10 min. walk from Taormina, where there are many sights to see and many up scale shops. There are also many very fine restaurants serving excellent meals in Taormina.
Has a spectacular View of Mt Etna in the morning. Abot a 15 miniute walk from Villa Galante.
This was the headquarters for the German army during the second world war.
Small ristorante that has a fixed menue that is all fish and is a set price per person. You will need reservations on the weekend.

Rose basicly designed an built the property. We have been living here for over ten years. Rose is Sicilian although she was born in the states and was educated there. Her parents were from Castelamare Del Gulfo. She is a practicing psychologist and operates a post graduate school to train psychologist a psychiarists to do family therapy.
I am a retired school teacher of 44 years and operate the B&B. I came to Sicily in 1989 when I retired from New Mexico and started working at Naval Air Station Sigonella. Sicily is a spectacular place to live and we invite you to come stay with us awhile.
