Additionally there is a large backyard with self-contained enclosed guest cabana equipped with cable, flat-screen tv, ac, and ping pong table.
This home is totally family friendly, and comes loaded with fishing poles, clam rakes, beach chairs, bikes, beach umbrellas, hammocks, and a rowboat- the works! Available from MD to LD for weekly rental!

For community access to Peconic Bay, launch your kayak, rowboat, or just go for a dip. No parking hassles. Best place to take in the sunset.
Morton Wildlife Refuge has a liesurely 1 mile walking trail through unspoiled seashore habitat. Bring birdseed. The chickadees are so tame they will eat from your outstretched palm.
Free parking after 6, hidden spot for campfires, clambakes, long walks on sandy ocean beaches. Practically deserted during the week.

Everything in the house is more or less as described, except for the cabana in the back which was not suitable for sleeping (it is being used for storage). The house was well decorated and comfortable. The location was good as the house is on a quiet street. The kitchen is nice with nice appliances. The house is not very big but it is a good size for a small family. The loft upstairs is perfect for a couple of older kids for whom you would not need to worry about the steps. My issue is with the owner himself, who was very difficult to work with. He was very unhelpful the week of our stay when Hurricane Irene came through. First, he lied to me and told me house was fine after the hurricane, but when I arrived the house had no power or water and was obviously not inhabitable (his neighbor confirmed that the street had never gotten power back). Second he was completely unresponsive the week of the rental when I was trying to determine when/if the power would be back. Third, he has been entirely unresponsive since that week, and has not responded to emails or phone calls.
Recommended for:
Cozy and spacious cottage with many comforts and ammenities!

I have no complaints about my stay...the place was cute and rustic and slept all 8 of us comfortably. The shower water NEVER got cold, and the back patio was very enjoyable for dinners. The location is quiet and peaceful, and yet only a 10 minute carride to town. I am staying there again this summer and looking forward to it!
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
