Stated here in early November, had nice weather and great shopping in Galena. The house was nice, very clean and homey. Roads to the house are very hilly and curvy. Would recommend a GPS to find this place. Was not impressed with the fact that you have to pay a fee for cleaning service, and YOU have to get rid of your garbage to a location a ways away from the house and its not real easy to find. More towels and extra keys would have been nice. Overall, it was a nice place and worth the money.
Recommended for:Girls getaway.

My son was married in Aug. and we rented this home for several relatives to meet up at. It was a fabulous home with bathrooms on each level. This worked good for my elderly mother. The home was very clean. I would reccomend more keys, we only had one. Also the description of the hoiuse left me wondering if it was a 5 bedroom or 6 bedroom (it's 6). I emailed the owner, she was fabulous to deal with. Answered all of my questions. I would most definately recommend this home.

We stayed here for a wedding that took place in Apple River. There were 12 adults in our party and there was plenty of room for everyone with 6 bedrooms and 4 baths. If someone wanted a quiet space there was room as well. Our only complaint was that we didn't have enough time to shop as much as we would have liked, and the guys definitely wished they could have golfed. Ate twice in town and had excellent food at Fried Green Tomatoes. Will definitely come back at some point!

This place is big on space but you pay for it. We had 12 people and there was plenty of room for more! Clean rooms and nice features. I would recomend to a large family or a few of them.

The home is lovely, very spacious, plenty of room for everyone, and very clean. The treasures of Galena are just minutes away. For the cost of the home, we may have been able to rent 4 hotel rooms, where we would all have been crammed in with nothing but a bed and a bath each. Instead, we had 6 bedrooms, 4 baths, a full kitchen, several living areas, a lovely view, a fireplace....!! Two of the bedrooms are on the main floor, which would be excellent for more mature renters. The kitchen is well stocked and had everything we needed. The owners had even left a couple of Halloween decorations to make it more homey! The fireplace is so nice, I could sit on the sectional with a book by the fireplace for hours and be totally content. We did have one - malfunction? - we could not get the hot tub to heat up; we called the owners (who are so very nice) and they had a maintenance man out there within 30 minutes, apparently all that was needed was a reset button, who knew? I RECOMMEND THIS HOME! ENJOY!
