I stayed here for four weeks and truly enjoyed every moment at the Bali-Hawaii Home. The pictures here don't really do this place justice. When I first stepped in to see the expanse of the home as well as it's bali architecture, I was impressed. There were natural tree trunks suspending portions of the ceiling, a double set of wide-headed showers upstairs that felt like soft rain when turned on, a huge luscious bed to lose yourself in, an exotic pool and balinese gazebo--with flat screen in it suspended from the ceiling with dish satellite should you desire, a wall of glass which could be pushed away on the first level, and more. A big plus was the quiet neighborhood which felt like a world away from the chaos of Honolulu and Waikiki. Also, it was a ten minute walk tops to the access path, which opened up to a gorgeous spot on Kailua beach and it was close enough to downtown not to need your vehicle to go out in the evenings. The family which owns this lovely place are so kind and made me feel at home. This is the perfect place for almost anyone (the lone traveler, the romantic couple, a family either large or small).

Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Honolulu is a ZOO

Honolulu has a Zoo and IS a ZOO when it comes to all the noise and bustle.... if you really want to stay at a fantastic, private, and truly traditional Hawaiian home... this is the place!!... my new Bride and I were married on the beach just a few miles away 2 weeks ago... and this rental truly fulfilled all we had hoped for... we've stayed in a few places in Kailua and I used to live in Honolulu.... this house is truly #1... the hosts are gracious people... the pool is wonderful... the architecture unique.. the walk is short to the perfect beach... and the best restaurants are just steps away.. don't cheat yourself!!!... pay a little more for your rental... and when you get back to the states.... you'll actually feel a little blue and housesick for the Bali-Hawaiian.

Just wanted to say mahalo to Christian and Kendra for a relaxing stay in a beautiful home. Our hosts were gracious and accomodating. The house was nicely situated close to Kailua Beach and the center of town. The place was great for entertaining small parties and we all enjoyed the peaceful setting! Will definitely stay here again!

Missed the beach toys

Kendra and Christian have built a beautiful Guest home. It is even nicer than the photos. They are lovely people. It is a 7 minute walk to beautiful Kailua Beach. The house itself was a lovely place to stay. However when I compare properties and decide where to stay, there are a few items that factor in and one criteria was a disappointment in our stay. The host indicated that they had all the beach necessities: beach chairs, towels, umbrella, mats, boggy boards, snorkel and fins. Unfortunately the items they did have were so old, moldy or broken that they were essentially unusable. We tried the masks at Hanama Bay and ended up having to rent equipment. The only boggy board was child sized and partially broken, the umbrella and mats you wouldn't want to touch and the chairs ripped but at least one was still usable. They have good boggy boards now because we bought a pair and left them for future tenants use. Lastly we like to use the gas grill and it is an item I look for in a rental, their's was so dirty it was unusable. You can say "you should have asked about all these" but we did make it clear we planned to use these items and were shown where they were so I assumed the owners would have checked on their condition. In the case of the boggy boards, it was "sorry, this is all we could find". In future I will confirm that these items listed exist and are good working order before I rent.

Owner response:We appreciate the feedback so we can make improvements. We always want our guests to be happy and go out of our way to address any concerns. We were sorry to hear about the issue of the BBQ and have purchased a new gas BBQ for our guests which will of course be kept clean. Also we purchase new beach gear often (every couple months) as the salt water does make things look a little worn, but we make sure everything is clean and usable. And if anything comes up we are close by.

We loved this house!! It was our first experience with vacation home rentals and it could not have been better. It's large enough for a family yet it was just my husband and I. It is very clean and decorated to match the experience of Hawaii with a modern twist. The walk to the warmest water beach we found on the island is short and even shorter if it's raining and you are caught on the beach, which happened to us. When we made it back to the house, we just hung out on the deck outside the bedroom to listen and watch the short rain storm. We both enjoyed the large TV and pool. The neighborhood is quiet, especially at night, if you want to hang in the bale or on the deck. We would return again if we find ourselves in Hawaii for a second time.

Bali-Hawaii Home was a great place to hang out and be mellow with my family. It's location is great, close to everything...beach, downtown, hiways...in a friendly and quiet neighborhood. The place was huge for the three of us, (me, husband, and babe) which was a pleasant departure from hotels or other generic vaca.rentals. The decor is colorful and inviting, the bed is in fact very comfortable. The kitchen stocked enough to keep me cooking. We loved living with the outdoors!(windows and doors open). And the only place Adelaine has more access to pillows is in her dreams!

Christian and Kendra - we want to personally thank you for your wonderful vacation home, as the weather in Oahu didn't cooperate with us, we enjoyed just relaxing in you bright and open home, enjoying the luxurious landscape and listening to the birds. Your home was also very convenient to everything, the beach, restaurants (yours was the best), getting in and out of Kaelua. And we slept like babes in your wonderful master bedroom. If we do get to Hawaii again, we would definately stay again. Anyone who reads this, this is definately a great place to stay. Thanks alot, Christian and Kendra. Ward & Pat

We absolutely loved our stay at the beautiful Bali- Hawaii Home. The space is grand yet comfortable and the proximity to Kailua's fabulous beach was just what we were looking for. We very much value our privacy and Kendra and Christian truly provide a secluded oasis for their guests. We'll be back!
