When it comes to log homes, this one is an original. Often associated with American president Abraham Lincoln (who spent his childhood in a log cabin), Lincoln Logs were popularized as a children's toy in 1916 by John Lloyd Wright, a son of the notable architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

This cabin is lovingly maintained to retain its rustic cabin appeal, featuring 1950's western details, a Yves St. Lauren wicker bed, antique GM Frigidaire, reproduction sofa from the Will Rogers television show, classic board games and hints of modern luxury like Wi-Fi and HD television.

Located minutes from downtown Truckee and Northstar ski resort, the house is a one bedroom, three room cabin with a small bath. The living room features a wood stove fireplace and stone surround. There is a dining area for four, a full kitchen, and a private Jacuzzi tub is located off the side deck, perfect for romance and relaxation. The cabin is very comfortable, warm, and romantic.

10 minute drive to lakes, stores, restaurants, pharmacy, tennis, golf, hiking - everything! Highly recommended - book this one early.

  • My girlfriend and I spent two days and two nights at this very cozy, cute and romantic cabin. I was able to cook a couple of gourmet, romantic dinners in the full kitchen that was there.....and the cabin was very warm and inviting.....extremely comfortable. The location was great also.....very close to town and easy acess to many convenience's.....yet, out in the woods and fairly private. If we get the chance, we will stay there again. I'd love to own a little cabin like this.......perfect little getaway!!!! Robert

  • We nicknamed the Mikal Bunkhouse "One of Everything" because that's what it seemed to have, and that's all we wanted. Plus, easy access to airport, shopping, resorts and biking. No complaints, excellent! Thank you!

  • We rented the Mikal Bunkhouse for a couple days this April and it was fantastic. Super cozy and cute and centrally located between all the major ski resorts (Squaw, Northstar and Alpine) and about a 5 min drive to downtown Truckee. They even had Guitar Hero. Rock on!
