I've had the pleasure of working and vacating in LA many times but this is by far the best place i've stayed.. Total privacy, heated pool on tap and perfectly spit roasted between Santa monica and Sunset the landlord Raffi is an absolute gentleman and has become as a result a good friend... The house was beautiful and the location is perfect. I was pretty busy during my time in LA and found this to be a great safe haven to rest and relax. In my free time I was able to go out and explore a little, and there is SO much to do within walking distance! I loved having a covered, off street parking space in such a busy city. I highly recommend this house! The entire place is beautiful and the kitchen is easy to work in and is very well equipped. The large windows throughout the house bring in a lot of natural lighting, absolutely loved the high ceilings! Great place to stay if you want to be in the heart (walking distance) of everything in Los Angeles, but can come home to a relaxed and private atmosphere. Loved the neighborhood and location! Everything was very clean and modern, and the owner was very nice and attentive! Thank you Rafael, we will be back!Owner response: Thank you Ashley! What a find! Beautifully decorated, and all the space we needed. We started with a very warm welcome from Rafi, but then he left us to it, but always knew he was a phone call away. The house and design were very modern and clean, and it was stocked with everything and anything we could have needed! The Cabana and jacuzzi at the back were INCREDIBLE after a long day out. Great space, and very romantic atmosphere. We really enjoyed walking to all the restaurants, shops, museums, and historic venues at the Sunset Strip and Santa Monica Blvd! So much to do around this area, we only regret not having more time!! The whole experience was fantastic and I would certainly return here again.Did you find this review helpful? While I did enjoy my stay, the rental left a little to be desired. The place needed to be cleaned despite my request prior to arrival. Thankfully the owner corrected the issue the next day. There were just a few other issues with the apartment. Not all of the hanging lights work, so the place was always a little dark. Three TV's are pictured, but only one works all the time. I booked the place specifically to have a pool, but in order to use it, I had to let the owner know every time and it would take at least 5 hours to warm up and I was never able to use the jacuzzi since it was always the same temp as the pool. (I understand that it was winter time, but I was looking forward to relaxing after working all day). On the positive side: The owner was very willing to help when I had issues and quite quick to solve any problems. Also the location was perfect if your in town to visit attractions or for work. We stayed in the home for a week and had a relaxing amazing time. My husband and I were in Los Angeles for our honeymoon and it was very special. The person renting the house made our stay a nice experience. He went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed and beyond. I really liked the Jacuzzi and the pool, this is where we spent most of our time. The location of the house was also perfect for us, it was near everything we wanted to see. It was really hot when we were there and it was great to have a really cold air conditioner in the house and the pool outside. My husband liked sitting outside near the fish tank and the fireplace. We ordered a couples massage to the house that was also a good addition to our relaxing time. We stayed one night in a four star hotel the night of our wedding and then spent the rest of the week here and we preferred the privacy and having our own pool over the hotel. Nice location and the place has a lot of potential if it was properly maintained. The house is more of a pool house behind a primary residence. The person living in the main house did not know how to work anything. His usual response was that I will figure it out..or that we could figure it out. I figured out that I will never stay there again. The wiring was very poor. An example was that you had to turn on the living room TV to operate the bedroom TV and with all of the lights off a blow dryer can still trip the breaker. The place was not clean with what seemed like a years worth of dust caked on top of everything. Very few dishes were provided - very few bath towels were provided and there was no hand soap, bath soap, and one roll of toilet tissue. We had to request these things constantly. The luxurious pool was operated by a remote control that you guessed it....I had to figure out. And if you thought the inside had a years worth of dirt caked on top of everything, I could not guess how long the outside quarters went without being attended too. The front door to the house would not lock properly so security was a concern and the car that is available for rent was obviously the pigeons toilet...as it was dirty and covered wtih droppings The plumbling was also very poor as the shower never really turns off unless you turn the knobs just right. I doubt the guy that was staying at the main house was the actual owner as he did not know how to operate anything nor did he act like he cared. This is an AWESOME property....definitely unique in that you can stay in your own little house, have a beautiful backyard, and be right in the heart of West Hollywood. Overall, this place was a gem. The home itself is a one-bedroom, loft-like space with beautiful details---high ceilings, gorgeous bathroom, lots of light, and an open layout. The backyard is true to the pictures---absolutely fabulous jacuzzi, pool, fireplace, couches, etc. We came with our 5-month old baby and it was super nice to lay around in the backyard while he napped, or relax at ease in the jacuzzi after he went to bed at night. You'd never be able to do that at a regular hotel! The owner, Rafael, is definitely a good guy. Things weren't perfect when we arrived----a windy night before had blown leaves into the pool and made the backyard look less than presentable. However, Rafael was out there ASAP getting things looking good....a little bit of TLC would make this property a 5-star place, without a doubt. Attention to details like shampoo/soap/hand towels in the bathroom, some glassware/coffee cups in the kitchen, and a once-over of a cleaning checklist would be helpful. Again, Rafael was superb about getting us what we needed fast, but I felt bad bugging him about little things that we needed but weren't there! Would I stay here again? Absolutely. Well worth it for the fantastic property, location, and unique type of stay. Does it need a bit of finishing touches?
