Well Worth It!

Guest: Lorna E. (Brownsville,TX)
Date of Stay: 10/24/11 Review Submitted: 11/06/11

My husband and I felt so fortunate on discovering this hidden gem of a cottage. It was spotless upon our arrival and Cynthia was still fussing about to make sure everything was perfect for her new guests. Cynthia is so nice and pays a lot of attention to details. She wants her guests happy and completely satisfied. The cottage had more amenities than we expected and the little extras added a nice touch. The added convenience of superb restaurants especially the Aqua Grill, large plaza with a Stop and Shop for groceries, RT. 3, and of course the beautiful Cape Cod Canal, only minutes away, made for a very enjoyable stay. The cottage was adorable, charming. quaint, bright and cheerful. It is tucked up in back of the road with a lot of privacy and a nice, big yard. When we go back to visit Cape Cod this is definitely our 1st choice for accomodations.

Very Nice Cottage, Well Located

Guest: Jeff (Franklin, TN USA)
Date of Stay: 09/11/11 Review Submitted: 09/30/11

My wife and I frequently rent cottages or condos, and this one was excellent, well priced, well located to see Cape Cod Towns and Boston, very clean and well kept, and nice owners Cynthia and Gert. The cheery colors and furnishings were nice, and it was quiet. Centrally located in pretty historic Sandwich, it was a short drive to catch a bus to Boston or ferry to Marthas Vineyard. The historic town of Plymouth had a very nice plantation re-creating the Pilgrim town and nearby Native American settlement.

Owner response:Dear Jeff & Mary Jo, So nice to hear from you, along with your thoughtful review. Hope you received the envelope I sent. It always make me feel good to see our guest out & about everyday trying to soak up as much as possible during their visit.. As always Gert & I really appreciate the time and effort you spent on leaving the cottage so clean prior to your departure. Stay in touch; Give us a jingle next time you come to the Cape. HAVE A WONDERFUL WINTER & HAPPY HOLIDAYS. Sincerely, Cynthia & Gert

Cynthia and Gert: Thanks so much for the use of your lovely cottage and for your most gracious hospitality! It was a week we haven't or won't forget! ( Even the weather was "lovely", considering how hot and dry it is at home now) Anybody considering this cottage for a vacation shouldn't think twice! We look forward to visiting again, ASAP! Date of Stay: 05/20/11 Review Submitted: 05/24/11

Dear Gert & Cynthia, Thank you for your warm welcome; it was great to meet you both. The cottage was exactly what we were looking for. We appreciate the time you've taken to make it so cozy and clean. It had everything we needed. We look forward to renting again in the near future. Best, Craig, Renee and Coach

Owner response:DEAR RENEE, CRAIG & COACH, SO DISAPOINTED I COULD'NT GET YOU GUEST BOOK IN TIME. NOT TO MENTION A WARM HUG. CAN'T TELL YOU HOW MUCH WE ENJOYED YOU BOTH, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THE VERY, VERY SHORT TIME YOU WERE HERE. FROM THE MOMENT WE MET YOU TWO KEPT US LAUGHING. RENEE, YOU WERE SO PERSISTANT ON MY FEED BACK RE: HOW THE COTTAGE WAS LEFT UPON CHECK OUT....(since 'Coach' has those long golden locks.) I CAN'T THANK-YOU ENOUGH (and you know I'm a tough critic.) THE TRUTH IS I COULDN'T FIND ANY EVIDENCE THAT YOUR BEST FRIEND WAS THERE AT ALL...IT WAS LEFT PERFECT. GERT AND I HOPE TO SEE YOU 3 AGAIN SOON, VERY SOON. STAY IN TOUCH. CYNTHIA & GERT

Most Romantic Beautiful Cottage!

Guest: JoLeighG (San Antonio, TX)
Date of Stay: 04/01/11 Review Submitted: 05/14/11

My husband and I stayed at the cottage for a week, it was lovely. The owners Gert and Cynthia are the sweetest couple. They saw to every detail, even booked us dinner at the Aqua Grille. Sunset on the terrace was the most beautiful I've ever seen! There are flowers and white picket fences everywhere. It looks like a post card. We were within walking distance of both downtown Sandwhich and a national park. Loved everything about our stay, and can't wait to go back!

Dear Cynthia, Your attention to detail made our stay in the cottage a fabulous one. We had everything we needed and felt right at home. You have created a lovely, warm space and the cleanliness speaks volumes about your care. We knew as soon as we walked in that we had made the right choice. We also were happy to discover the close proximity to amazing garden and woods walks... just a 3 minute drive away. What a treat! Thank you so much for offering this cottage to Cape visitors. It really is a home away from home. Shawn and Connie

Owner response:Dear Shawn & Connie, Thank you for taking the time to submit your review, I know how busy you are and that makes it even more special. Dear Cynthia and Gert, You've done it again. The cottage was cozy, comfortable and inviting Just like last year.Your attention to detail makes this our favorite place to stay on our annual migration northbound. Our favorite experiance this trip was watching the waves at the "Cape Cod National Seashore." after hurricane 'Earl' churned up the ocean. We're looking forward to seeing you both next year. Cynthia & Gert, The cottage was very neat, clean and quiet. It had everything we needed and set in a lovely garden. We really liked sitting outside in the morning & evening. Cynthia was delightfully eccentric and Gert was always helpful and kind. We come here to Cape Cod from Scottland every year and always find everyone very friendly. The villiages and towns are lovely and we especially like Sandwich due to its unspoiled character. Thanks to Cynthia & Gert for making this a wonderful holiday. We hope to return next year if Cynthia can fit us in. Eleanor & James Entry submitted by owner. Comments written by guests and transfered here. P.S. At the bottom of the page, next to the guests entry in our rental guestbook was a post-it informing me of the beautiful gift they left for me. This is what it said. "Cynthia, Cup & saucer from 'Dunson Pottery' in Scottland ---Wm. Morris pattern. for your tea" Eleanor & James Thank-you both for your kind words & the precious gift. It looks great sitting on my hutch next to the cup & saucer collection I inherited from my mother. We look forward to seeing you next year. Cynthia & Gert.

Date of Stay: 08/13/09 Review Submitted: 08/13/09

My husband and I just celebrated our wedding anniversary in Cape Cod in July 2009. We stayed at this lovely cottage. It was clean and beautifully decorated and completely furnished for all of the comforts of home. Before we left we had no idea where to stay. It ended up that Sandwich was our favorite town. To top it off, the owners are incredible! Sweet and generous as can be. They treated us royally. We never wanted to leave.

Owner response:Dear Adrienne & Larry, I apologize for the delay in response to your entry into the guestbook. First I must applaud you Adrienne, for your determination to get through the somewhat confusing process. In a way it was a blessing in disguise, so if in the future a guest encounters the same issue as you did, I will be able to walk them through it with ease. Your love of the cottage was certainly reflected on the day you and Larry departed. It makes me so happy when our guests return to the cottage after a full day of enjoying the Cape and share some of their experiances with us. It goes without saying. The cottage doors will always be open to the two of you. Stay in touch. Sincerley, Cynthia & Gert

Cynthia and Gert - Thanks so much for a wonderfully relaxing week! The cottage is even better in person - very, very clean and tastefully decorated. The location is perfect as well; close to all amenities. I can't wait to return! Jackie

Owner response:DEAR JACKIE AND DAKOTA, THANK-YOU FOR THE POSITIVE FEEDBACK & KIND WORDS. EVERY GUEST IS UNIQUE. ON ONE END THERE ARE THOSE WHO WISH TO GO,SEE,AND DO AS MUCH AS THEY CAN DURING THEIR VISIT. ON THE OTHER END THERE ARE THOSE WHO WANT TO DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.IT'S NOT IMPORTANT TO ME WEATHER THE GUEST WANTS TO GET CRAZY, BE LAZY OR MIX IT UP. MY ONLY WISH IS THAT WHEN THEY DRIVE AWAY. THEY FEEL FULLFILLED. THE MORNING YOU AND DAKOTA LEFT,I SENCED YOU HAD ACCOMPLISHED EXACLY WHAT YOU CAME TO THE COTTAGE TO GET. AND THAT FILLS MY HEART WITH JOY. WE ENJOYED MEETING YOUR VISTORS AS WELL. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE WELCOMED BACK TO 'THE DILLINGHAM COTAGE' STAY IN TOUCH, CYNTHIA & GERT
