Tewa is your host at Tewa’s Aqua Villa,she will greet you at Phillip’s Landing, and transport you to your Water Island retreat.
After a wonderful night’s sleep lulled by island breeze and Caribbean night sounds, guests wake to the smell of coffee brewing, and a delicious breakfast served by Tewa. Although, breakfast (during high season) varies day to day, will usually consist of tropical fruits, pastries or fresh croissants, passion fruit juice, Dominican Republic coffee, and eggs, French toast, pancakes or the omelet of the day. Champagne can be arranged, should you desire, after all, you are on vacation. During low season, a continental breakfast of pastries, juice and coffee are served.
Water Island is a small residential island inhabited by anywhere from 75 to 175 people, depending on the season, and is about 2.5 miles long and about a mile wide. It is the smallest of the four US Virgin Islands and the youngest, transferred to local government in December 1996. There are no hotels, gas stations, shops, churches, taxis or traffic. There is one small store on the island, so it is important to plan ahead, and purchase groceries, etc. on St. Thomas. The Water Island ferry runs several times a day from Crown Bay, St. Thomas to Phillip’s Landing about every hour from 6:30 am, with the last ferry at 6:00 pm. Night ferry service or special runs can be arranged.
There are plenty of activities to keep you busy if you enjoy hiking, walking, biking, swimming, fishing and snorkeling. You can go exploring or shelling at Limestone Beach. Or just spend a day relaxing or kayaking at Honeymoon Beach, where Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett shot a romantic sunset scene for the movie “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.”
On Friday nights, Pirates Ridge is the place to be for entertainment and homemade pizza and salad buffet. The Pirates Ridge is a small grocery store, bar and deli. They offer sandwiches and homemade pizzas. Groceries can be arranged with Pirates Ridge who will deliver to your place. Saturday evening you will want to be on Honeymoon Beach for dinner under the stars catered by Heidi’s Honeymoon Grill. Heidi serves lunch daily on the beach. Monday evening is movie night! Heidi will be there with popcorn, hot dogs, candy, wine, beer and pop. With the screen hung between two trees, locals watch from their golf carts, chaise lounges or chairs provided. The locals here are very friendly, and will raise their glasses to just about anything. Honeymoon Beach, is just a short walk away from Tewa’s Aqua Villa.

- Kid Friendly : We suggest kids ages 6 and up due to the safety issue of the wrap around balcony and railing. Small children could fall through if not carefully supervised.
