Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1992
I am the proud mother of 3 children (all grown up now!). I also have two darling grandsons who occupy as much time as my son and my daughter-in-law will allow!
The mountain house I am blessed to own has brought me years of enjoyment and each trip, I discover something new. As is evidenced by my pricing, I more want to share the experience with guests, rather than make a huge profit from them.
Thank you for all that have considered my property and I hope you are able to visit the area, even if you do not choose to stay at our house.
There certainly are many options when it comes to rental accomodations in the region, and if you want peace and quiet, with plenty of social scenes and secluded scenery nearby, you just stumbled across the ideal spot for you and your loved ones.
Why the Owner Chose Seven Devils
The stark contrast the mountains provide to other destinations in terms of things to do, specific to this geographic locale, makes Seven Devils my favorite spot and, it is the most relaxing place on earth, quite possibly.
The pace of life is simply slower in the mountainous regions of North Carolina, and that is just fine with me. People take time to see beauty, appreciate the moment and savor it.
It is not the type of place you have to bring a checklist of "must-do's". Rather, it is a place filled with can-do's to match your mood and free spirit.
On many occasions, the genesis of my trip, perhaps a certain site to visit, may never make it on any day's agenda of the vacation. The beauty of this missed opportunity is that I always have an excuse to come back sooner than later.
Feel free to make me an offer on weeks that are within a 30 day period of a planned stay or partial weeks. I will do my best to help you have a luxurious vacation at an economical price. I
I truly want you to enjoy your stay and leave with memories that will last a lifetime - positive ones and encourage you to inform me of any issue you may encounter within my control.
The Unique Benefits of this House
There are so many activities in which to partake, see and just appreciate including: the wonderful view afforded from the decks on each level, hiking the numerous trails a stones throw away and for whatever difficulty level you prefer, antique shopping with most places offering affordable shipping and it is an outdoors person's paradise.
There is not a shortage of fine dining nearby, either. Enjoy a fine dinner at Crippen's Restaurant, a 20 minute drive to Blowing Rock: exquisite but not over-priced and there is no attire requirement.
Linville Falls is a nice hike and the Linville Caverns are very interesting. In the latter, you experience complete darkness. It is chiling, though brief. There are sights too numerous to mention along the Blue Ridge Parkway, a mere 10-15 minutes away, and Grandfather Mountain has many exploration options, with trails and a zoo of mountain wildlife.
Hawksnest Resort is less than a 1/4 mile from the house and visible from the balcony. It is truly "within walking distance", taking no liberties with that phrase. The short but steep trek back is not for everyone, but almost. Hawksnest's Lodge has a full bar and is open in the evenings with a wonderfully rustic look that a ski lodge should have, complete with a fireplace.

We are from Florida and went up on a few occasions. The place is magnificent. We looked at alternatives to renting a home and this is actually cheaper than the hotels in the area they had liveable conditions. If you love the outdoors, hiking and/or the mountain scene like our family, you cannot go wrong here. We cannot thank the owner enough - everything promised was delivered.
Recommended for:People with disabilities, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.
