We stayed here 3 nights over Spring Break and enjoyed it very much. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood away from all the craziness yet it's close to the Seawall (can walk a few blocks) and also not too far from driving to the Strand. The house is very cute, clean, and relaxing. The kitchen and bathroom are superbly updated and the deck outside is awesome for relaxing in the evening or early mornings. The garage is a great bonus to park the car(s). The courtyard is very cute and the hammock is a nice touch. Irma (the owner) is a pleasure to deal with and makes the arrangements easy. We will definitely rent this place again in the future.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This was a great place to stay! It was in a wonderful quiet location and as all the amenities that you would need. The back decks were amazing place to relax after a day running around the island! I would definitely choose the Tree House again on my next visit!Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway.

This is a really cool little house. Unfortunately, it was not clean when we arrived so we had to check in to a hotel until we could reach the owner and get it cleaned. Great deck which we would have loved to use but it was covered in leaves and debris. Yard guy woke us up with blower on Saturday morning at 7:30. Also would have loved having a tv in the bedroom. Would like to stay again if some of the issues were fixed (toilet handle kept falling off). Very nice shower and jacuzzi tub and good location! They allow pets and have a fenced yard which is a plus. Resonably priced.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

The house is fine however the owner depends on a neighbor to tell them if the house is rental ready. The owner allows the guest to clean the house when they leave for a discounted price on the rent. I own a commercial cleaning business so I thought perfect, however they must of offered the same thing to the last renters. When we arrived very late the first night we discovered the house was not clean so we had to go rent a hotel. The tub was very dirty sheets have not been washed ect. We contacted the owner and she said the neighbor checked it and said it was clean. There is no way anyone checked this house before we arrived. The deck would of been a nice place to spend some time because the weather was beautiful, however it looked as if it had not been cleared off in a long time. Lots of leaves branches from tree and patio furniture that was to dirty to sit on.The courtyard was also needing some tlc. The lawn service showed up the first morning at 7:30 am. What a beatuful place! We had the best time while staying at the Tree House. Everything you need is there. The courtyard, the decking on top, was well used this weekend ... The house was just as described. Deck was very nice to sit out and enjoy the wonderful weather. Thank goodness we did not have any real problems because when I called to inquire about one matter the phone number on the instructions was incorrect. At least I did have my email confirmation so I left a message with the owner but no returned call. I just thought the comunication should have been better.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We stayed here for our very first family vacation with our baby boy. Sleeping is comfortable and the master bedroom is large enough or a crib with space to move around. The bed is very comfortable which shocked me. The house is clean and immaculately updated. We felt like we were staying at a friends home rather than a rental property. We felt very secure there. We grilled out and got fresh shrimp from the seafood market. It was a very low key vacation for us. We will come back and stay here again. Also, even though this place is pet freiendly, which I believe it would be with the courtyard and doggie door, we do not have pets. There was no pet smell or evidence that pets have stayed here. It's well taken care of.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had a fabulous girls week at the treehouse cottage!! Absolutely fell in love with this place. Irma was very friendly and quickly responded to all emails. My dogs had a blast on the deck and the outside area. The house is cozy and modern with tons of natural lighting. The grill on the open deck was so much fun to have. The beach is a five minute walk away. Tons of restaurants nearby but we enjoyed spending our time at the house more than anything. If Irma would ever sell, I would this house in a heart beat. :)Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I and our four children stayed there this past weekend and it was more than we expected. The house was so beautiful and clean and fully stocked with whatever you could imagine and more. The deck was great and every morning I sat outside and had coffee. The house was fantastic with a beautiful kitchen and the bathroom was amazing as well. The children had such a good time and I promised them we would come back soon. It was a very quiet neighborhood and close to all the good resturaunts. We also loved how the back yard lit up every night and the garden was beautiful.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

I surprised my husband with a weekend getaway to the Tree House Cottage and we both fell in love with the house. The yard, decks, and patios looked like they belonged in Austin...very artsy, sculptures in the courtyard, and very quaint. We loved sitting on the patio each night under the large tree with white lights and enjoyed a bottle of wine. The interior was very clean and the upgrades were amazing. Irma's husband owns a granite company so the kitchen and bathroom looked like they belonged in a magazine. We also walked to The Mosquito Cafe and Sunflower Bakery for dinner one night and breakfast on both mornings. The Tree House Cottage is our new home away from home in Galveston. Dog Lovers: Someone made a comment about dogs possibly slipping through the patio. Please note that patio slats have been added to the patio on top of the garage and now looks different from the picture in their album. I was nervous about bringing our dog out on the patio before we arrived but our Boston Terrier loved the patios and would not have been able to slip through. The backyard is also fully fenced in and there is a doggie door so your dog can have free reign and you do not have to worry. You will not be disappointed!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

About the owner: Our Tree House Cottage is a wedding gift that we gave each other before our wedding. We got engaged in Galveston, so it is just fitting that we own a piece of the island. We loves restoring old cottages, and because we own a natural stone fabrication company, we have the resources to bring this 1920s cottage back to life. All of the colors were selected to match our wedding color which is brown, olive green and white. The purpose of the house is to decompress you. And the minute you walked into the house you will know what I mean by that. Enjoy, and relax.
